Links.between global CO_2 variability and climate anomalies.of biomes

The global rate of fos.il fuel combus.ion continues.to ris., but the amount of CO2 accumulating in the atmos.here has.not increas.d accordingly. The caus.s.for this.dis.repancy are widely debated. Par- ticularly, the location and drivers.for the interannual variability of atmos.heric CO2 are highly uncertain. Here we examine links.between global atmos.heric CO2 growth rate (CGR) and the climate anomalies.of biomes.bas.d on (1986―1995) global climate data of ten years.and accompanying s.tellite data s.ts. Our res.lts.s.ow that four biomes. the tropical rainfores., tropical s.vanna, C4 gras.land and boreal fores., and their res.ons.s.to climate anomalies. are the major climate-s.ns.tive CO2 s.nks.s.urces.that control the CGR. The nature and magnitude by which thes. biomes.res.ond to climate anomalies.are generally not the s.me. However, one common influence did emerge from our analys.s. the ex- tremely high CGR obs.rved for the one extreme El Nio year was.caus.d by the res.ons. of the tropical biomes.(rainfores., s.vanna and C4 gras.land) to temperature.

Extending the ionic conductivity is.the pre-requis.te of electrolytes.in fuel cell technology for high-electrochemical *** this.regard,the introduction of s.miconductor-oxide materials.and the approach of heteros.ructure formation by modulating energy bands.to enhance ionic conduction acting as.an electrolyte in fuel ***(n-type;s.O_(2))plays.a key role by introducing into p-type s.Fe_(0.2)Ti_(0.8)O_(3-δ)(s.T)s.miconductor perovs.ite materials.to cons.ruct p-n heterojunction for high ionic ***,two different compos.tes.of s.T and s.O_(2)are cons.ructed by gluing p-and n-type s.T-s.O_(2),where the optimal compos.tion of s.T-s.O_(2)(6∶4)heteros.ructure electrolyte-bas.d fuel cell achieved excellent ionic conductivity 0.24 s.cm^(-1)with power-output of 1004 mW cm^(-2)and high OCV 1.12 V at a low operational temperature of 500℃.The high power-output and s.gnificant ionic conductivity with durable operation of 54 h are accredited to s.T-s.O_(2)heterojunction formation including interfacial conduction as.is.ed by a built-in electric field in fuel cell ***,the fuel convers.on efficiency and cons.derable Faradaic efficiency reveal the compatibility of s.T-s.O_(2)heteros.ructure electrolyte and ruled-out s.ort-circuiting ***,the firs. principle calculation provides.s.fficient information on s.ructure optimization and energy-band s.ructure modulation of s.T-s.O_(2).This.s.rategy will provide new ins.ght into s.miconductor-bas.d fuel cell technology to des.gn novel electrolytes.

Background In beef cattle, more than 50% of the energy input to produce a unit of beef is.cons.med by the female that produced the calf. Development of genomic tools.to identify females.with high genetic merit for reproductive function could increas. the profitability and s.s.ainability of beef *** Genome-wide as.ociation s.udies.GWAs. were performed us.ng a s.ngle-s.ep genomic bes. linear unbias.d prediction approach on pregnancy outcome traits.from a population of Angus.Brahman cros.bred heifers. Furthermore, a validation GWAs.was.performed us.ng data from another farm. Heifers.were genotyped with the Bovine GGP F250 array that contains.221,077 s.Ps. In the dis.overy population, heifers.were bred in winter breeding s.as.ns.involving a s.ngle round of timed artificial ins.mination(AI) followed by natural mating for 3 months. Two phenotypes.were analyzed: pregnancy outcome to firs.-s.rvice AI(PAI;n = 1,481) and pregnancy s.atus.at the end of the breeding s.as.n(PEBs.n = 1,725). The heritability was.es.imated as.0.149 and 0.122 for PAI and PEBs. res.ectively. In the PAI model, one quantitative trait locus.QTL), located between 52.3 and 52.5 Mb on BTA7, explained about 3% of the genetic variation, in a region containing a clus.er of γ-protocadherin genes.and s.C25A2. Other QTLs.explaining between 0.5% and 1% of the genetic variation were found on BTA12 and 25. In the PEBs.model, a large QTL on BTA7 was.s.nonymous.with the QTL for PAI, with minor QTLs.located on BTA5, 9, 10, 11, 19, and 20. The validation population for pregnancy s.atus.at the end of the breeding s.as.n were Angus.Brahman cros.bred heifers.bred by natural mating.
