The vagus nerve(VN)plays an important role in regulating physiological conditions in the gastrointestinal(GI)tract by communicating via the parasympathetic pathway to the enteric nervous system(ENS).However,the lack of knowledge in the neurophysiology of the VN and GI tract limits the development of advanced treatments for autonomic dysfunctions related to the *** better understand the complicated underlying mechanisms of the VN-GI tract neurophysiology,it is necessary to use an advanced device enabled by microfabrication *** several candidates including intraneural probe array and extraneural cuff electrodes,microchannel electrode array devices can be used to interface with smaller numbers of nerve fibers by securing them in the separate channel *** microchannel electrode array devices to interface teased nerve structures are relatively bulky with thickness around 200µ*** thick design can potentially harm the delicate tissue structures,including the nerve *** this paper,we present a flexible thin film based microchannel electrode array device(thickness:11.5µm)that can interface with one of the subdiaphragmatic nerve branches of the VN in a *** demonstrated recording evoked compound action potentials(ECAP)from a transected nerve ending that has multiple nerve ***,our analysis confirmed that the signals are from C-fibers that are critical in regulating autonomic neurophysiology in the GI tract.

肺癌的治疗非常复杂,需要多学科联合来提供综合治疗。介入性肺脏病学是利用微创的方式为疑似肺癌的患者进行初步诊断和分期,在目前仍是一个不断发展的学科领域。支气管超声引导下的对纵隔淋巴结采样进行分期,同时进行驱动突变检测是早期和晚期肺癌诊断及治疗的重要工具,支气管超声引导下支气管镜的进步使得可疑周围性病变的组织学采样的并发症发生率大大降低同时为立体定向放疗植入基准标记。此外,介入性肺脏病学可以缓解不可手术的癌症及晚期癌症。由于低剂量CT扫描用于肺癌的早期发现,对肺部结节的治疗有经验的肺病专科医师来说,最重要的是尽可能减少侵袭性采样,整合多学科诊治的模式进行分期。

Topic Modeling Based Warning Prioritization from Change Sets of Software Repository

Many existing warning prioritization techniques seek to reorder the static analysis warnings such that true positives are provided first. However, excessive amount of time is required therein to investigate and fix prioritized warnings because some are not actually true positives or are irrelevant to the code context and topic. In this paper, we propose a warning prioritization technique that reflects various latent topics from bug-related code blocks. Our main aim is to build a prioritization model that comprises separate warning priorities depending on the topic of the change sets to identify the number of true positive warnings. For the performance evaluation of the proposed model, we employ a performance metric called warning detection rate, widely used in many warning prioritization studies, and compare the proposed model with other competitive techniques. Additionally, the effectiveness of our model is verified via the application of our technique to eight industrial projects of a real global company.

Coconut Fiber Pyrolysis: Bio-Oil Characterization for Potential Application as an Alternative Energy Source and Production of Bio-Degradable Plastics

The current energy crisis could be alleviated by enhancing energy generation using the abundant biomass waste resources. Agricultural and forest wastes are the leading organic waste streams that can be transformed into useful alternative energy resources. Pyrolysis is one of the technologies for converting biomass into more valuable products, such as bio-oil, bio-char, and syngas. This work investigated the production of bio-oil through batch pyrolysis technology. A fixed bed pyrolyzer was designed and fabricated for bio-oil production. The major components of the system include a fixed bed reactor, a condenser, and a bio-oil collector. The reactor was heated using a cylindrical biomass external heater. The pyrolysis process was carried out in a reactor at a pressure of 1atm and a varying operating temperature of 150˚C, 250˚C, 350˚C to 450˚C for 120 minutes. The mass of 1kg of coconut fiber was used with particle sizes between 2.36 mm - 4.75 mm. The results show that the higher the temperature, the more volume of bio-oil produced, with the highest yield being 39.2%, at 450˚C with a heating rate of 10˚C/min. The Fourier transformation Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy analysis was used to analyze the bio-oil components. The obtained bio-oil has a pH of 2.4, a density of 1019.385 kg/m3, and a calorific value of 17.5 mj/kg. The analysis also showed the presence of high-oxygenated compounds;carboxylic acids, phenols, alcohols, and branched oxygenated hydrocarbons as the main compounds present in the bio-oil. The results inferred that the liquid product could be bestowed as an alternative resource for polycarbonate material production.

Electronic and optical properties of CdS/CdZnS nanocrystals

Cd1-xZnxS nanocrystals are prepared by a co-precipitation method with different atomic fractions of Zn. The texture, structural transformation and optical properties with increasing x value in Cd1-xZnxS are studied with scanning electron microscopy, electron diffraction patterning, and absorption spectra respectively. Quantum confinement in a strained CdS/Cd1-xZnxS related nanodot with various Zn content values is investigated theoretically. Binding energies on exciton bound CdS/CdxZn1-xS quantum dot are computed, with consideration of the internal electric field induced by the spontaneous and piezoelectric polarizations, and thereby the interband emission energy is calculated as a function of the dot radius. The optical band gap from the UV absorption spectrum is compared with the interband emission energy computed theoretically. Our results show that the average diameter of composite nanoparticles ranges from 3 nm to 6 nm. The X-ray diffraction pattern shows that all the peaks shift towards the higher diffracting angles with an increase in Zn content. The lattice constant gradually decreases as the Zn content increases. The strong absorption edge shifts towards the lower wavelength region and hence the band gap of the films increases as the Zn content increases. The values of the absorption edge are found to shift towards the shorter wave length region and hence the direct band gap energy varies from 2.5 eV for the CdS film and 3.5 eV for the ZnS film. Our numerical results are in good agreement with the experimental results.

Radiative life time of an exciton confined in a strained GaN/Ga_(1-x)Al_xN cylindrical dot:built-in electric field effects

The binding energy of an exciton in a wurtzite GaN/GaAlN strained cylindrical quantum dot is investigated theoretically. The strong built-in electric field due to the spontaneous and piezoelectric polarizations of a GaN/GaAlN quantum dot is included. Numerical calculations are performed using a variational procedure within the single band effective mass approximation. Valence-band anisotropy is included in our theoretical model by using different hole masses in different spatial directions. The exciton oscillator strength and the exciton lifetime for radiative recombination each as a function of dot radius have been computed. The result elucidates that the strong built-in electric field influences the oscillator strength and the recombination life time of the exciton. It is observed that the ground state exciton binding energy and the interband emission energy increase when the cylindrical quantum dot height or radius is decreased, and that the exciton binding energy, the oscillator strength and the radiative lifetime each as a function of structural parameters （height and radius） sensitively depend on the strong built-in electric field. The obtained results are useful for the design of some opto-photoelectronic devices.

AN ACCURATE TWO-DIMENSIONAL THEORY OF VIBRATIONS OF ISOTROPIC,ELASTIC PLATES

An infinite system of two-dimensional equations of motion of isotropic elastic plates with edge and corner conditions are deduced from the three-dimensional equations of elasticity by expansion of displacements in a series of trigonometrical functions and a linear function of the thickness coordinate of the plate. The linear term in the expansion is to accommodate the in-plane displacements induced by the rotation of the plate normal in low-frequency flexural motions. A system of first-order equations of flexural motions and accompanying boundary conditions are extracted from the infinite system. It is shown that the present system of equations is equivalent to the Mindlin＇s first-order equations, and the dispersion relation of straight-crested waves of the present theory is identical to that of the Mindlin＇s without introducing any corrections. Reduction of present equations and boundary conditions to those of classical plate theories of flexural motions is also presented.
