Background:determination of nutrient requirements in the late gestating and lactating sows is essential to optimize sow *** objectives of the present study were to quantify amino acid(AA)fluxes and heat production across portal-drained viscera(PDV)and liver in multiparous sows during transition and ***:Eight second parity sows were fitted with indwelling catheters in the femoral artery and in the mesenteric,portal and hepatic *** hourly sets of blood samples were taken starting 0.5 h before feeding at−10,−3,+3,and+17 d in milk(DIM).Blood gases,plasma metabolites and apparent total tract digestibility(ATTD)of nutrients were ***:Feed intake,the ATTD of DM,energy,nitrogen,fat and crude fiber changed with DIM(P<0.001).Except for Glu,O2,and urea,all net portal fluxes were positive,and all were affected by DIM(P<0.05)and by sampling time(P<0.01).Compared with pre partum levels,net portal uptake of AA was 3-63%lower at+3 DIM but 40-100%higher at+17 *** portal fluxes of AA peaked at 1.5 to 2.5 h after feeding except for Glu,and they were positively correlated with changes in sow feed intake across *** net portal recovery was low for Met(49%),Thr(54%),and His(54%)and high for the remaining essential AA(63-69%)and none of them differed across *** hepatic uptake(*** oxidation)of Lys,Thr,Ile,Leu and Phe peaked at 0.5 to 2.5 h after feeding,whereas uptake of Trp,Val,and His was constant,while that of Met was close to ***:The net portal recovery was substantially lower for Met,Thr,and His than the remaining essential *** AA oxidation peaks 0.5 to 2.5 h after *** heat production in PDV and liver was approximately two-fold higher at peak lactation compared to other *** study suggests that lysine was the limiting AA in peak lactation but not in early lactation.

High-Throughput Chemotyping of Cannabis and Hemp Extracts Using an Ultraviolet Microplate Reader and Multivariate Classifiers

As the use of Cannabis products as natural medicines burgeons,it is also appearing as a food *** is important to screen Cannabis samples as ingredients by profiling their chemical compositions,which is referred to as *** sets of botanical extracts were *** first set is referred to as Cannabis contained plant materials from 15 samples of the sativa,indica,and hybrids of the two *** second set contained 20 extracts from the variety of Cannabis sativa with low tetrahydrocannabinol(THC)concentrations,i.e.,below 0.3%,and,henceforth,will be referred to as *** ultraviolet(UV)microplate reader provides a cost-effective and high-throughput method for identifying chemotypes of plant extracts by their *** microplate reader affords rapid measurements of small volumes,e.g.,50μL,which demonstrates a potential to significantly reduce the analysis time and cost for Cannabis and hemp chemotyping or chemi-cal *** samples were measured on different days to demonstrate the robustness of the *** difference resolution(PDR)maps were used to visualize the separations among the *** multivariate classifiers,fuzzy rule-building expert system(FuRES),super partial least squares-discriminant analysis(sPLS-DA),support vector machine(SVM),and two tree-based support vector machines(SVMtreeG and SVMtreeH)were *** classifiers were validated with ten bootstrapped Latin partitions(BLPs).For the Cannabis extracts,the SVMtreeG yielded the best performance and the classification accuracy was 99.1±0.4%for spectra collected in the nonlinear absorbance *** the hemp extracts,the SVM classifier performed the best with a 97.4±0.6%classification *** results demonstrate that the UV microplate reader coupled with multivariate classifiers can be used as a high-throughput and cost-effective approach for chemotyping Cannabis.

We present a SUSY model with four Higgs doublets of the"private type,"in which all fermion types(up,down,and charged leptons)obtain their masses from a different Higgs doublet H_f(f=u_1,d,e) .The conditions for anomaly cancellation imply that the remaining Higgs doublet of the model( H_(u_2) )must have the same hypercharge as H_(u_1) ,and thus,can only couple to up-type quarks,which opens the possibility to have FCNCs only in this *** study the Lagrangian of the model,and in particular,the Higgs potential,to identify the Higgs mass-eigenstates and their interactions;for the Yukawa matrices,we consider the four-texture *** obtain constraints on the model parameters by using LHC measurements on the properties of the 125 GeV Higgs boson(h),and identify viable regions of the parameter ***,these constraints are used to evaluate the prospects for detecting the FCNC decay mode t→ch at the future high-luminosity(HL)option for the LHC,which are compared with current limits from ***,we evaluate the FCNC decay of the next heavier Higgs boson H_(2)→tc ,which can typically reach BR(H_2→tc)≈(10^(-4)-10^(-5)) .The search for the signal at HL-LHC is also studied,and it is found that it may be detectable for specific regions of the model parameter space.

Interplay between HEAT SHOCK PROTEIN 90 and HY5 Controls PhANG Expression in Response to the GUN5 Plastid Signal

The presence of genes encoding organellar proteins in different cellular compartments necessitates a tight coordination of expression by the different genomes of the eukaryotic cell. This coordination of gene expression is achieved by organelle-to-nucleus or retrograde communication. Stress-induced perturbations of the tetrapyrrole pathway trigger large changes in nuclear gene expression in plants. Recently, we identified HSP90 proteins as ligands of the pu- tative plastid signal Mg-ProtolX. In order to investigate whether the interaction between HSP90 and Mg-ProtolX is bio- logically relevant, we produced transgenic lines with reduced levels of cytosolic HSP90 in wild-type and gun5 backgrounds. Our work reveals that HSP90 proteins respond to the tetrapyrrole-mediated plastid signal to control expres- sion of photosynthesis-associated nuclear genes （PhANG） during the response to oxidative stress. We also show that the hy5 mutant is insensitive to tetrapyrrole accumulation and that Mg-ProtolX, cytosolic HSP90, and HY5 are all part of the same signaling pathway. These findings suggest that a regulatory complex controlling gene expression that includes HSP90 proteins and a transcription factor that is modified by tetrapyrroles in response to changes in the environment is evolutionarily conserved between yeast and plants.
