Precise electro-reduction of alkyl halides for radical defluorinative alkylation

Reported here is a precise electro-reduction strategy for radical defluorinative alkylation towards the synthesis of gem-difluoroalkenes from α-trifluoromethylstyrenes. According to the redox-potential difference of the radical precursors, direct or indirect electrolysis is respectively adopted to realize the precise reduction. An easy-to-handle, catalyst-and metal-free condition is developed for the reduction of alkyl radical precursors that are generally easier to be reduced than α-trifluoromethylstyrenes,while a novel electro-Ni-catalytic system is established for the electro-reduction of alkyl bromides or chlorides towards the electrochemical synthesis of gem-difluoroalkenes. The merit of this protocol is exhibited by its mild conditions, wide substrate scope, and scalable preparation. Mechanistic studies and DFT calculations proved that the coordination of α-trifluoromethylstyrenes to Ni-catalyst prevents the direct reduction of the alkene and, in turn, promotes the activation of alkyl bromide through halogen atom transfer mechanism.

In this paper,we develop a 6G wireless powered Internet of Things(IoT)system assisted by unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)to intelligently supply energy and collect data at the same *** our dual-UAV scheme,UAV-E,with a constant power supply,transmits energy to charge the IoT devices on the ground,whereas UAV-B serves the IoT devices by data collection as a base *** this framework,the system's energy efficiency is maximized,which we define as a ratio of the sum rate of IoT devices to the energy consumption of two UAVs during a fixed working *** the constraints of duration,transmit power,energy,and mobility,a difficult non-convex issue is presented by optimizing the trajectory,time duration allocation,and uplink transmit power of *** tackle the non-convex fractional optimization issue,we deconstruct it into three subproblems and we solve each of them iteratively using the descent method in conjunction with sequential convex approximation(SCA)approaches and the Dinkelbach *** simulation findings indicate that the suggested cooperative design has the potential to greatly increase the energy efficiency of the 6G intelligent UAV-assisted wireless powered IoT system when compared to previous benchmark systems.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) refers to a pair of prevalent conditions (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis) distinguished by persistent inflammation of the large intestine. Procyanidin C1 (PCC1) is a naturally occurring substance derived from grape seeds that has demonstrated notable anti-inflammatory properties. This study examines the potential utility of PCC1 as a treatment for IBD and subsequently examines the host-cell- and microbiome-related mechanisms underlying the detected therapeutic benefits. Working with a classic dextran sodium sulfate (DSS)-induced mouse IBD model, we show that PCC1 protects the mucosal barrier and thereby confers strong protective effects against IBD. PCC1 pretreatment resulted in anti-inflammatory effects and protection against multiple pathological phenotypes in the IBD model mice, including reduced weight loss, lower disease activity index (DAI) totals, and enhanced colon size, as well as obviously beneficial effects on the mucosal barrier (e.g., barrier thickness and activity of mucus-degrading enzymes). We also analyzed the autophagy marker microtubule- associated protein1 light chain 3 (LC3) and found that the level of LC3 was significantly elevated in the intestinal epithelial cell samples of the PCC1-pretreatment group as compared with the non-model mice samples. PCC1 altered the fecal microbiome composition, which included elevating the abundance of Akkermansia muciniphila and Christensenella minuta. Fecal microbiome transplant (FMT) experiments showed that delivering a microbiome from PCC1-treated animals into PCC1-na & iuml;ve animals conferred protection. Metabolic profiling revealed that both the PCC1-pretreatment and PCC1 FMT groups had elevated levels of the microbiota-derived metabolite valeric acid, and supplementation with this short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) also conferred strong protection against IBD. Plants have evolved regulatory mechanisms at multiple levels to regulate gene expression in order to improve their cold ***,limited information is available regarding the stress response at the chromatin and translational ***,we characterize the chromatin accessibility,transcriptional,and translational landscapes of tea plants in vivo under chilling stress for the first *** stress signi ficantly affected both the transcription and translation levels as well as the translation efficiency of tea plants.A total of 3010 genes that underwent rapid and independent translation under chilling stress were observed,and they were signi ficantly enriched in the photosynthesis-antenna protein and phenylpropanoid biosynthesis pathways.A set of genes that were signi ficantly responsive to cold at the transcription and translation levels,including four(+)-neomenthol dehydrogenases(MNDs)and two(E)-nerolidol synthases(NESs)arranged in tandem on the chromosomes,were also *** detected potential upstream open reading frames(uORFs)on 3082 genes and found that tea plants may inhibit the overall expression of genes by enhancing the translation of uORFs under chilling *** addition,we identi fied distal transposase hypersensitive sites(THSs)and proximal THSs and constructed a transcriptional regulatory network for tea plants under chilling *** also identi fied 13 high-con fidence transcription factors(TFs)that may play a crucial role in cold *** results provide valuable information regarding the potential transcriptional regulatory network in plants and help to clarify how plants exhibit flexible responses to chilling stress.

In order to elucidate the ability of stored product insects to resist high temperature at varying temperature conditions,the influence of different heating rates on the mortality of all life stages of Tribolium castaneum(Herbst)(Coleoptera:Tenebrionidae)was *** acclimation from 28 to 42,44 and 46℃ at different heating rates(0,1.25,2.50,5.00,and 10.00℃/h),eggs,larvae,pupae,and adults of *** were exposed at 50℃ for 0(as a control),10,15,20,25 and 30 min,*** corrected mortality of *** was determined after 24 *** results showed that different exposure times and heating rates had significant effects on the mortality of *** mortality of all life stages of *** with the same acclimation experience increased significantly with the increasing exposure time,and acclimation improved the heat tolerance of *** mortalities exposed at 50℃ for 30 min of *** eggs(acclimated to 46℃ at 5.00℃/h),larvae(acclimated to 44℃ at 2.50℃/h),pupae(acclimated to 46℃ at 5.00℃/h),and adults(acclimated to 46℃ at 2.50℃/h)were 62.50%,54.44%,58.89%and 53.33%,respectively,significantly lower than that of corresponding life stages of *** acclimated at 1.25 and 10.00℃/*** present results are in favor of developing an effective heat treatment protocol for pest control.
