Objective:To explore the possible effects and mechanism of Zhizhu Decoction(ZZD)on the pathophysiology of slow transit constipation(STC).Methods A total of 54 C57BL/6 mice was randomly divided into the following 6 groups by a random number table,including control,STC model(model),positive control,and low-,medium-and high-doses ZZD treatment groups(5,10,20 g/kg,namely L,M-,and H-ZZD,respectively),9 mice in each group.Following 2-week treatment,intestinal transport rate(ITR)and fecal water content were determined,and blood and colon tissue samples were collected.Hematoxylin-eosin and periodic acid-Schiff staining were performed to evaluate the morphology of colon tissues and calculate the number of goblet cells.To determine intestinal permeability,serum levels of lipopolysaccharide(LPS),low-density lipoprotein(LDL)and mannose were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Western blot analysis was carried out to detect the expression levels of intestinal tight junction proteins zona-occludens-1(ZO-1),claudin-1,occludin and recombinant mucin 2(MUC2).The mRNA expression levels of inflammatory cytokines including tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α,interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-6,IL-4,IL-10 and IL-22 were determined using reverse transcription-quantitative reverse transcription reaction.Colon indexes of oxidative stress were measured by ELISA,and protein expression levels of colon silent information regulator 1/forkhead box O transcription factor 1(SIRT1/FoxO1)antioxidant signaling pathway were detected by Western blot.Results Compared with the model group,ITR and fecal moisture were significantly enhanced in STC mice in the M-ZZD and H-ZZD groups(P<0.01).Additionally,ZZD treatment notably increased the thickness of mucosal and muscular tissue,elevated the number of goblet cells in the colon of STC mice,reduced the secretion levels of LPS,LDL and mannose,and upregulated ZO-1,claudin-1,occludin and MUC2 expressions in the colon in a dose-dependent manner,compared with the model group(P<0.05 or P<0.01).In addition,ZZD si

Isogeometric Analysis with Local Adaptivity for Vibration of Kirchhoff Plate

Based on our proposed adaptivity strategy for the vibration of Reissner-Mindlin plate,we develop it to apply for the vibration of Kirchhoff plate.The adaptive algorithm is based on the Geometry-Independent Field approximaTion(GIFT),generalized from Iso-Geometric Analysis(IGA),and it can characterize the geometry of the structure with NURBS(Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines),and independently apply PHT-splines(Polynomial splines over Hierarchical T-meshes)to achieve local refinement in the solution field.TheMAC(Modal AssuranceCriterion)is improved to locate unique,as well as multiple,modal correspondence between different meshes,in order to deal with error estimation.Local adaptivity is carried out by sweeping modes from low to high frequency.Numerical examples showthat a proper choice of the spline space in solution field(with GIFT)can deliver better accuracy than using NURBS solution field.In addition,for vibration of heterogeneous Kirchhoff plates,our proposed method indicates that the adaptive local h-refinement achieves a better solution accuracy than the uniform h-refinement.

Transient Behaviors of Thermo-Hydraulic and Thermal Stratification in the Pressurizer Surgeline for the Nuclear Power Plant

In pressurized water reactor(PWR)system,the surgeline plays an important role in bonding the pressurizer and the primary circle.Some considerable problems,including the thermo-hydraulics,the thermal stratification and the accompanying thermal stress under transient conditions,pose risks to the surgeline integrity.Herein,a fully-coupled flow-heat-thermo-elasticity model was developed to investigate the transient behavior of thermo-hydraulic parameters and the thermal stratification phenomenon in PWR.To evaluate the nonuniformity of the stratified flow,a stratification degree indicatorζis introduced.It is found that during the outsurge flow,the increase of temperature variation will enlarge the temperature gradient on the wall,corresponding to a more serious deformation.In the cases of positive temperature variation,the higher temperature variation causes higher stratification degreeζ,and vice versa.The mass flow rate m and the stratification degree are in negative correlation.The local deformation can reach 1.802 cm under a 50 K temperature variation,while its location varies from case to case.More attention should be paid to the regulation between the highest deformation location and the surgeline thermo-hydraulic parameters.

Dynamic Properties of Steel Catenary Riser near Touchdown Point Under Coplanar Vessel Heave and Vortex Induced Vibration

The present study establishes a simple numerical model for the coupled response of a steel catenary riser(SCR) subjected to coplanar vessel motion and vortex-induced vibration(VIV). Owing to the large deflection of the SCR, the geometric nonlinearity is considered in this model. The hydrodynamic force comprises the excitation force and hydrodynamic damping, where the excitation force that only exists when the non-dimensional frequency is located in the lock-in range, is associated with the VIV. The hydrodynamic force model is validated based on the published VIV test data.As for the seabed resistance at the touchdown zone(TDZ), integrated with an initial seabed trench, the hysteretic feature is modeled. Based on the model, the study emphasizes on the coupled response characteristics near the touchdown point(TDP) induced by coplanar vessel heave and VIV, and analyzes the sensitivity of the coupled response to the heaving amplitude and frequency. It is found that with the increase of the heave amplitude and frequency, the VIV can be obviously mitigated, but the heave-related response in the coupled analysis seems to be close to that in the heave-only simulation. Finally, the fatigue damage near TDP is parametrically investigated based on the separate analysis and the coupled analysis. The results demonstrate that the coupled effect plays a significant role in the fatigue assessment near TDP. Besides, the proportion of the coupled effect accounting for the total fatigue damage decreases with the increasing seabed stiffness, while increases with the increasing seabed trench depth.

Self-powered forest ambient monitoring microsystem based on wind energy hybrid nanogenerators

In response to the call for zero-carbon energy supply for Internet of Things(IoTs)applications and to get rid of the dependence of traditional distributed IoTs devices on batteries,the invention of nanogenerators that can convert wind energy in the surrounding environment into electrical energy have received widespread attention.Herein,a wind energy hybrid harvester(WH-EH)combining a soft-friction and positive-directional triboelectric nanogenerator(SP-TENG)and a hierarchical rotating electromagnetic nanogenerator(HR-EMG)is reported to construct a self-powered forest environment monitoring microsystem.With the design of thin inner wall beams and comb-shaped electrodes,the SP-TENG is able to change the output into positivedirectional,which can be stored directly in the energy storage device,breaking the limitation of the alternating positive and negative output of conventional TENGs.In addition,the HR-EMG embeds coils in the cup lid to make the most of the available space in the external package.In the WH-EH,a layered structure,including the HR-EMG and SP-TENG is adopted to jointly utilize wind energy for both higher output and higher utilization.In order to effectively implement wireless monitoring of the forest environment,the WH-EH is further utilized to develop a self-powered forest environment monitoring microsystem by powering the IoTs sensor nodes,realizing ambient temperature and humidity sampling and wireless transmission,so as to achieve the purpose of preventing forest fires.It is believed that the development of the WH-EH and the self-powered forest environment monitoring microsystem provides diverse options for the practicalization of self-powered IoTs systems and the energy supply problem of IoTs sensor networks.

Myrtoidine and malagashanine,highly complex indole alkaloids,are effective adjuvants in developing cures for plasmodium malaria and potent multi-drug resistant agents.Despite nearly 30 years of progress,myrtoidine and the related family of Malagasy alkaloids still present formidable challenges for synthetic chemists.Here,we developed a diastereoselective[2+2+2]tandem cyclization reaction with alkyl-substituted methylene malonate,enabling highly efficient collective total synthesis of four Malagasy alkaloids from commercially available tryptamines within 10-13 steps.The synthetic strategy included rapid and highly stereoselective assembly of the tetracyclic indoline core containing 5-7 contiguous stereogenic carbon centers,rarely seen in indole alkaloids.Among the four natural products,(±)-myrtoidine,(±)-11-demethoxymyrtoidine,and(±)-12-hydroxymalagashanine were synthesized for the first time,and the work on(±)-malagashanine represented the shortest synthetic route so far.Our current study should enable further explorations of chemical and biological spaces based on myrtoidine,malagashanine,and related natural products.

Tactile perception of textile fabrics based on friction and brain activation

Tactile perception plays a critical role in the interaction of humans and environment.It begins with the mechanical stimulation induced by friction and is processed in the somatosensory cortex.To quantify the tactile perceptions of textile fabrics,the mechanical properties of fabrics and the features extracted from the friction and vibration signals were correlated with the subjective sensation rated by questionnaires.Meanwhile,the technique of functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI)was used to identify the brain areas responsible for the tactile perception of textile fabrics.The results showed that during the tactile perception of textile fabrics,the coefficient of friction increased with the increasing normal load,indicating that the deformation mechanism of skin was relevant to the friction of skin against fabrics.The features of spectral centroid(SC),coefficient of friction,and diameter and critical buckling force of fiber had a strong correlation with the perceived fineness,slipperiness,and prickliness of fabrics,respectively.The postcentral gyrus,supramarginal gyrus,and precentral gyrus,with the corresponding functional regions of the primary somatosensory cortex(SI),secondary somatosensory cortex(SII),primary motor cortex(MI),and secondary motor cortex(MII),were involved with the perceptions of fabric textures.The fiber properties and fabric surface structures that caused the multidimensional feelings tended to induce the large area,intensity,and percent signal change(PSC)of brain activity.This study is meaning for evaluating the tactile stimulation of textile fabrics and understanding the cognitive mechanism in the tactile perception of textile fabrics.

Liquid biopsy used molecular information in body liquid to perform early diagnosis,screening,monitoring,prognosis,and treatment of various diseases.Circulating free nucleic acids(cfNA)are important diagnostic biomarkers,providing a window to accurately and immediately observe the body's vital activity status.With the development of gene sequencing technology and bioinformatics technology,genetic,epigenetic,and fragtomics alterations that can be detected in cfDNA,as well as the expression level of miRNA and cf-mRNA can be quantified,this can reflect its tissue origin,gene regulation,genome evolution,and disease pathogenesis.This review focuses on the clinical utility of cfNA in different body liquids(blood,urine,bile),and discusses the diagnostic efficacy and accuracy of cfNA as diagnostic biomarkers in a variety of diseases.Blood is widely used to diagnose various tissue lesions for liquid biopsies as a body fluid circulating throughout the body,reflecting the state of the entire body.Bile and urine,as local circulating body fluids,can better reflect the changing state of tissues around the biliary tract and tissues around the bladder,respectively.In addition,normalized sample preservation,cfNA extraction,and detection procedures will help the practical application of cfNA in the clinic.

1 Introduction Key-value data,as NoSQL data widely used in recent years,has been frequently collected and used for analysis in major websites and mobile apps.The frequency distribution estimation on the key domain,as well as the mean estimation of values associated with the same key,are crucial and worth billion dollars in the business.However,in real applications,the key-value records are submitted by terminal devices of different users.Directly collecting the information from users may pose serious risks on personal privacy.On the other hand,the emerging shuffled differential privacy(SDP)model[1]is proposed to collect sensitive data from users.

Bacteria inactivation by sulfate radical:progress and non-negligible disinfection by-products

Sulfate radicals have been increasingly used for the pathogen inactivation due to their strong redox ability and high selectivity for electron-rich species in the last decade.The application of sulfate radicals in water disinfection has become a very promising technology.However,there is currently a lack of reviews of sulfate radicals inactivated pathogenic microorganisms.At the same time,less attention has been paid to disinfection by-products produced by the use of sulfate radicals to inactivate microorganisms.This paper begins with a brief overview of sulfate radicals’properties.Then,the progress in water disinfection by sulfate radicals is summarized.The mechanism and inactivation kinetics of inactivating microorganisms are briefly described.After that,the disinfection by-products produced by reactions of sulfate radicals with chlorine,bromine,iodide ions and organic halogens in water are also discussed.In response to these possible challenges,this article concludes with some specific solutions and future research directions.
