Graphite interfaces are an important part of the anode in lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),significantly influencing Li intercalation *** anodes adopt different stacking sequences depending on the concentration of the intercalated Li *** this work,we performed first-principles calculations to comprehensively address the energetics and dynamics of Li intercalation and Li vacancy diffusion near the no n-basal edges of graphite,namely the armchair and zigzag-edges,at high Li *** find that surface effects persist in stage-Ⅱ that bind Li strongly at the edge ***,the pronounced effect previously identified at the zigzag edge of pristine graphite is reduced in LiC_(12),penetrating only to the subsurface site,and eventually disappearing in LiC_(6).Consequently,the distinctive surface state at the zigzag edge significantly impacts and restrains the charging rate at the initial lithiation of graphite anodes,whilst diminishes with an increasing degree of *** diffusion time for Li hopping to the bulk site from either the zigzag edge or the armchair edge in LiC_(6) was observed during high state of charge due to charge *** controlling Li occupation and diffusion kinetics at this stage is also crucial for enhancing the charge rate.

Human agency has become increasingly limited in complex systems with increasingly automated decision-making *** instance,human occupants are passengers and do not have direct vehicle control in fully automated cars(i.e.,driverless cars).An interesting question is whether users are responsible for the accidents of these *** ethical and legal analyses frequently argue that individuals should not bear responsibility for harm bey.nd their ***,we consider human judgment of responsibility for accidents involving fully automated cars through three studies with seven experiments(n=2668).We compared the responsibility attributed to the occupants in three conditions:an owner in his private fully automated car,a passenger in a driverless robotaxi,and a passenger in a conventional taxi,where none of these three occupants have direct vehicle control over the involved vehicles that cause identical pedestrian *** contrast to normative analyses,we show that the occupants of driverless cars(private cars and robotaxis)are attributed more responsibility than conventional taxi *** dilemma is robust across different contexts(e.g.,participants from China vs the Republic of Korea,participants with first-vs third-person perspectives,and occupant presence vs absence).Furthermore,we observe that this is not due to the perception that these occupants have greater control over driving but because they are more expected to foresee the potential consequences of using driverless *** findings suggest that when driverless vehicles(private cars and taxis)cause harm,their users may face more social pressure,which public discourse and legal regulations should manage appropriately.

Biomass chitosan(CS)was used as a template,graphitic phase carbon nitride(g-C_(3)n_(4))with high nitrogen content and certain catalytic activity was used as a dopant,and nano-transition metal cobalt(Co)was used as a catalytic center *** carbon aerogel(C(CS)/g-C_(3)n_(4)/Co)with a three-dimensional network-like structure was prepared by assembling the three materials through experimental operations such as freeze-dry.ng and high-temperature *** was demonstrated by scanning and transmission characterization that the CS in the carbon aerogel could provide more active sites for the cobalt nanoparticles,and the doping of graphite-phase carbon nitride as a template dispersed the cobalt nanoparticles and changed the conductivity of the *** investigate the catalytic effect of carbon aerogel on ammonium perchlorate(AP),it was investigated by differential thermal analyzer and TG thermal *** carbon aerogel was very effective in catalyzing AP,and the 10 wt% content of the catalyst reduced the AP pyrolysis peak from 703.9 to 595.5 *** to further investigate the synergistic effect of the three materials,further carbon aerogels such as C(CS)/Co,g-C_(3)n_(4)/Co were prepared and applied to catalyze AP,and the same ratio reduced the AP pyrolysis peak by 98.1℃ and 97.7℃.This result indicates a synergistic effect of the assembly of the three materials.

Photocatalysis offers a sustainable means for the oxidative removal of low concentrations of nOx(nO,nO2,n2O,n2O5,etc.)from the *** double hydroxides(LDHs)are promising candidate photocatalysts owing to their unique layered and tunable chemical structures and abundant surface hydroxide(OH)moieties,which are hydroxyl radical(OH)***,the practical applications of LDHs are limited by their poor charge-separation ability and insufficient active ***,we developed a facile n_(2)H_(4)-driven etching approach to introduce dual ni^(2+)and OHvacancies(niv and OHv,respectively)into niFe-LDH nanosheets(hereafter referred to as niFe-LDH-et)to facilitate improved charge-carrier separation and active Lewis acidic site(Fe^(3+)and ni^(2+)exposed at OHv)*** contrast to inert pristine LDH,niFe-LDH-et actively removed nO under visible-light ***,ni_(76)Fe_(24)-LDH-et etched with 1.50 mmol·L^(-1)n_(2)H_(4)solution removed 32.8%of the nO in continuously flowing air(nO feed concentration:500 parts per billion(ppb))under visible-light illumination,thereby outperforming most reported *** and theoretical data revealed that the dual vacancies promoted the production of reactive oxygen species(O_(2)·^(-)andOH)and the adsorption of nO on the *** situ spectroscopy demonstrated that nO was preferentially adsorbed at Lewis acidic sites,particularly exposed Fe^(3+)sites,converted into nO+,and subsequently oxidized to nO3without the notable formation of the more toxic intermediate nO2,thereby alleviating risks associated with its production and emission.

The rapid enhancement in the power conversion efficiency(PCE)of inverted(p-i-n)perovskite solar cells(PSCs)[1]is closely linked to the application of hole-selective self-assembled monolayers(SAMs)[2,3]in replacing or assisting the traditional organic/inorganic hole transporting *** to the dipolar nature of SAMs,these compact and well-ordered two-dimensional materials significantly impact the energy level alignment through their strong dipole moments[4,5].However,a similar case has not yet been observed in n-i-p-type *** success of SAMs in p-i-n PSCs raises the question of whether the dipole is the only thing that matters for inverted PSCs for efficient hole extraction.

BACKGROUnD:To investigate the prognostic value of the peripheral perfusion index(PPI)in patients with septic ***:This prospective cohort study,conducted at the emergency intensive care unit of Peking University People's Hospital,recruited 200 patients with septic shock between January 2023 and August *** patients were divided into survival(n=84)and death(n=116)groups based on 28-day *** evaluations included laboratory tests and clinical scores,with lactate and PPI values assessed upon admission to the emergency room and at 6 h and 12 h after *** factors associated with mortality were analyzed using univariate and multivariate Cox regression *** operator characteristic(ROC)curve was used to assess predictive *** rates were compared,and Kaplan-Meier survival plots were ***:Compared to the survival group,patients in the death group were older and had more severe liver damage and coagulation dysfunction,necessitating higher norepinephrine doses and increased fl uid *** lactate levels and lower PPI levels at 0 h,6 h,and 12 h were observed in the death *** Cox regression identifi ed prolonged prothrombin time(PT),decreased 6-h PPI and 12-h PPI as independent risk factors for *** area under the curves for 6-h PPI and 12-h PPI were 0.802(95%CI 0.742-0.863,Pnd 0.945(95%CI 0.915-0.974,Py,which were superior to Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS),Sequential Organ Failure Assessment(SOFA)scores(0.864 and 0.928).Cumulative mortality in the low PPI groups at 6 h and 12 h was signifi cantly higher than in the high PPI groups(6-h PPI:77.52%vs.22.54%;12-h PPI:92.04%vs.13.79%,PnCLUSIOn:PPI may have value in predicting 28-day mortality in patients with septic shock.
