Algal blooms are a frequent subject in scientific discussions and are the focus of many recent studies,mainly due to their adverse effect on *** the lack of ground truth data and the need to develop tools for their detection and monitoring,this research proposes a novel method to automate *** derived from multi-temporal image series processing,spectral indices and classification with Oneclass support Vector Machine(OC-sVM)are used in this *** from multi-spectral sensors on Landsat-8 and MODIs were acquired through the Google Earth Engine API(GEE API).In order to evaluate our method,two bloom detection case studies(Lake Erie(UsA)and Lake Taihu(China))were *** were made with methods based on spectral index ***,to demonstrate the performance of the OC-sVM classifier compared to other machine learning methods,the proposal was adapted to be used with a Random Forest(RF)classifier,having its results added to the *** situ measurements show that the proposed method delivers highly accurate results compared to spectral index thresholding ***,a drawback of the proposal refers to its higher computational *** application of the new method to a real-world bloom case is demonstrated.

Prototypes are described as a successful mechanism to incorporate user-experience design （UX） into Agile de- velopments, but their integration into such developments is not exempt from difficulties. Prototypes and final applications are often developed using different tools, which hinders the collaboration between designers and developers and also compli- cates reuse. Moreover, integrating stakeholders such as clients and users into the Agile process of designing, evaluating, and refining a prototype is not straightforward mainly because of its iterative nature. In an attempt to tackle these problems, this work presents the design and implementation of a new framework in which scripting languages are used to code prototyped behaviors. Prototyping is then treated as a separate aspect that coexists and runs together with final functionality. Using this framework communication is enhanced because designers and developers work in parallel on the same software artifact. Prototypes are fully reused and iteratively added with final functionality while prototyped behaviors are removed. They can be also modified on the fly to implement participatory design techniques.

Mammalian cell surfaces consist of the plasma membrane supported by an underneath cortical ***,these structures can control not only the shape of cells but also a series of cellular functions ranging from migration and division to exocytosis,endocytosis and ***,the cell surface is capable of exerting and reacting to mechanical *** viscoelastic properties,especially membrane tension and bending modulus,are fundamental parameters involved in these *** viewpoint summarizes our current knowledge on how to measure the viscoelastic properties of cell surfaces employing optical tweezers-based tether assays,paving the way for a better understanding of how cells react to external mechanical forces,with a glance on their remodeling dynamics and possible consequences on downstream cellular processes.

Impact of coronary angioplasty in elderly patients with non-sT-segment elevation myocardial infarction

Background As treatment of coronary artery disease improved over the last years,management of elder patients remained a matter of debate since this age group has been underrepresented in most *** study aimed to evaluate a population of patients with≥85 years old with non-sT-segment elevation myocardial infarction(NsTEMI)and compare the prognosis according to coronary revascularization *** We retrospectively studied 324 patients included in a national multicenter registry between October 2010 and October 2018,who underwent coronary angiography and had at least one stenosis≥50%.Results In this population,73.1%of the patients underwent percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)and 26.9%of the patients underwent optimized medical treatment(OMT).The OMT group had more past history of diabetes,stroke and *** coronary angiography,the PCI group used more often the femoral artery access and single-vessel lesions were also more ***-vessel disease was more common in the OMT *** hospitalization,there were more major bleeding events and death in the PCI *** the one-year follow-up,there were no significant differences in all-cause mortality *** Very old patients with NsTEMI submitted to OMT had more comorbidities and more three-vessel disease,factors that could have influenced the therapeutic *** undergoing PCI had more in-hospital major bleeding events and mortality,with no significant differences after one year.

Background: The use of nutritional supplements(Ns) among athletes is widespread. However, little is known about the relationship between nutritional adequacy and Ns usage. The aims of this study were to evaluate the Ns usage and to compare the nutritional intake from food and prevalence of micronutrient inadequacy(PMI) between Ns users and ***: Portuguese athletes from 13 sports completed an Ns usage questionnaire and a semi-quantitative food-frequency questionnaire assessing information over the previous 12 months. The estimated average requirement cut-point method was used to calculate PMI. General linear models were used to compare nutritional intake and Ns usage. Chi-squared tests and logistic regression were performed to study, respectively,relationships and associations between PMI and Ns ***: From the 244 athletes(66% males, 13–37 years), 64% reported Ns usage. After adjustment, Ns users showed a higher intake from food(p st 1 gender, for energy, and for 7 of the 17 studied nutrients. The highest PMI were seen for vitamins D and E, calcium, folate,and magnesium. After adjustment, Ns users, irrespective of gender, reported lower PMI for calcium(OR = 0.28, 95%CI: 0.12–0.65), and female users for magnesium(OR = 0.06, 95%CI: 0.00–0.98).Conclusion: Athletes using Ns reported a higher nutritional intake from food, and a lower PMI for several nutrients. Perhaps, those who were taking Ns were probably the ones who would least benefit from it.

Background Advances in cancer treatments,particularly the development of radiation therapy,have led to improvements in survival outcomes in children with brain ***,radiation therapy is associated with significant long-term neurocognitive *** present systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to compare the neurocognitive outcomes of children and adolescents with brain tumors treated with photon radiation(XRT)or proton therapy(PBRT).Methods A systematic search was conducted(PubMed,Embase,Cochrane,and Web of science from inception until 02/01/2022)for studies comparing the neurocognitive outcomes of children and adolescents with brain tumors treated with XRT *** pooled mean differences(expressed as Z scores)were calculated using a random effects method for those endpoints analyzed by a minimum of three *** Totally 10 studies(n=630 patients,average age range:1–20 years)met the inclusion *** who had received PBRT achieved significantly higher scores(difference in Z scores ranging from 0.29–0.75,all Psignificant in sensitivity analyses)after treatment than those who had received XRT for most analyzed neurocognitive outcomes(i.e.,intelligence quotient,verbal comprehension and perceptual reasoning indices,visual motor integration,and verbal memory).No robust significant differences(P>0.05 in main analyses or sensitivity analyses)were found for nonverbal memory,verbal working memory and working memory index,processing speed index,or focused *** Pediatric brain tumor patients who receive PBRT achieve significantly higher scores on most neurocognitive outcomes than those who receive *** studies with long-term follow-ups are needed to confirm these results.
