The Effectiveness of Psychotherapy on Posttraumatic Stress Disorder in Soldier:A Systematic Review

The objective of this systematic review is to examine the effectiveness of psychotherapy in treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD)in mili.ary ***,Web of Science,The Cochrane library,EBSCO and CNKI databases were searched from 1 January,2000 to November 2022 for Randomized Controlled Trials(RCTs)on psychotherapeutic interventions for mili.ary *** physical Therapy Evidence Database(pedro)scale was used to evaluate the quality of the *** researchers conducted literature screening,data extraction,and risk bias assessment in accordance with inclusion and exclusion ***,49 RCTs were included,involving a total of 5073 veterans,retired and active mili.ary from four *** average score on the pedro scale was *** primary psychotherapeutic modalities for mili.ary PTSD intervention include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy,Exposure Therapy,Mindfulness interventions,psychotherapy based on new technological tools,and other emerging psychotherapeutic *** review highlights that Cognitive Processing Therapy(CPT)and Prolonged Exposure Therapy(PET)stand out as the primary psychotherapeutic modalities for treating PTSD in mili.ary *** cases where CPT and PET yield limited benefits,Mindfulness interventions emerge as effective ***,considering the diverse needs and high dropout rates in the mili.ary,population,the review suggests using web-based,computer,and virtual reality technology tools as supplements to first-line treatments(CPT/PET)to enhance overall intervention *** the advancement of future psychotherapeutic initiatives,there is a pronounced emphasis on prioritizing proven first-line interventions,CPT and PET while also recognizing the potential of mindfulness-based interventions as credible *** tandem with this,the active integration of technological tools is advocated to amplify the therapeutic impact of conventional psychological treatment modalities.

We investigate the nonlinear dynamics of amoving interface in aHele-Shaw cell subject to an in-plane applied electric *** develop a spectrally accurate numerical method for solving a coupled integral equation *** the stiffness due to the high order spatial derivatives can be removed using a small scale decomposition technique,the long-time simulation is still expensive since the evolving velocity of the interface drops dramatically as the interface *** remove this physically imposed stiffness by employing a rescaling scheme,which accelerates the slow dynamics and reduces the computational *** nonlinear results reveal that positive currents restrain finger ramification and promote the overall stabili.ation of *** the other hand,negative currents make the interface more unstable and lead to the formation of thin tail structures connecting the fingers and a small inner *** no fluid is injected,and a negative current is utilized,the interface tends to approach the origin and break up into several *** investigate the temporal evolution of the smallest distance between the interface and the origin and find that it obeys an algebraic law(t∗−t)b,where t∗is the estimated pinch-off time.

The current pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARSCoV-2)infection has dramatically influenced various aspects of the *** is urgent to thoroughly study pathology and underlying mechanisms for developing effective strategies to prevent and treat this threatening *** is universally acknowledged that cell death and cell autophagy are essential and crucial to maintaining host homeostasis and participating in disease *** present,more than twenty different types of cell death have been discovered,some parts of which have been fully understood,whereas some of which need more *** studies have indicated that cell death and cell autophagy caused by coronavirus might play an important role in virus infection and ***,the knowledge of the interactions and related mechanisms of SARS-CoV-2 between cell death and cell autophagy lacks systematic ***,in this review,we comprehensively delineate how SARS-CoV-2 manipulates diverse cell death(including apoptosis,necroptosis,pyroptosis,ferroptosis,and NETosis)and cell autophagy for itself benefits,which is simultaneously involved in the occurrence and progression of COVID-19,aiming to provide a reasonable basis for the existing interventions and further development of novel therapies.

Appli.ation of Bioinspired Superhydrophobic Surfaces in Two-phase Heat Transfer Experiments

This paper addresses the potential to use Lotus leafbioinspired surfaces in appli.ations involving heat transfer with phase change, namely pool boiling and spray impingement. Besides describing the role of bioinspired topographical features, using an innovative technique combining high-speed visuali.ation and time-resolved infrared thermography, surface durability is also addressed. Water is used for pool boiling and for spray impingement systems （simplified as single droplet impact）, while HFE7000 is used in a pool boiling cooler for electronic components. Results show that surface durability is quickly compro- mised for water pool boiling appli.ations, as the chemical treatment does not withstand high temperatures （T 〉 100 ℃） during long time intervals （3 h - 4 h）. For HFE7000 pool boiling （depicting lower saturation temperature - 34 ℃）, heat transfer en- hancement is governed by the topography. The regular hierarchical pattern of the bioinspired surfaces promotes the heat transfer coefficient to increase up to 22.2%, when compared to smooth surfaces, while allowing good control of the interaction mechanisms until a distance between micro-structures of 300 gm- 400 Ixm. Droplet impingement was studied for surface temperatures ranging between 60 ℃ - 100 ℃. The results do not support the use of superhydrophobic surfaces for cooling appli.ations, but reveal great potential for other appli.ations involving droplet impact on heated surfaces （e.g. metallurgy in- dustry）.

Merits and limitations of TiO2-based photocatalytic pretreatment of soils impacted by crude oil for expediting bioremediation

Heavy hydrocarbons （HHCs） in soils impacted by crude oil spills are generally recalcitrant to biodegrada- tion due to their low bioavailability and complex chemical structure. In this study, soils were pretreated with varying concentrations of ultraviolet radiation A （UVA） or ultraviolet radiation C （UVC） activated titanium dioxide （TiO2）（1%-5%） under varying moisture conditions （0%- 300% water holding capacity （WHC）） to enhance biodegradation of HCCs and shorten remediation time- frames. We demonstrate that pretreatment of impacted soils with UVC-activated TiO2 in soil slurries could enhance bioremediation of HHCs. Total petroleum hydrocarbon （TPH） removal after 24 h exposure to UVC （254 nm and 4.8 mW/cm2） was （19.15：1.6）% in slurries with 300% WHC and 5 wt-% TiO2. TPH removal was non-selective in the C15-C36 range and increased with moisture content and TiO2 concentration. In a 10-d bioremediation test, TPH removal in treated soil increased to （26.05：0.9）%, compared to （15.45：0.8）% for controls without photo- catalytic pre-treatment. Enhanced biodegradation was also confirmed by respirometry. This suggests that addition of UVC-activated TiO2 to soil slurries can transform recalcitrant hydrocarbons into more bioavailable and biodegradable byproducts and increase the rate of subsequent biodegradation. However, similar results were not observed for soils pretreated with UVA activated TiO2. This suggests that activation of TiO2 by sunlight and direct addition of TiO2 to unsaturated soils within landfarming setting may not be a feasible approach. Nevertheless, less than 1% of UVA （7.5 mW/cm2） or UVC （1.4 mW/cm2） penetrated beyond 0.3 cm soil depth, indicating that limited light penetration through soil would hinder the ability of TiO2 to enhance soil bioremediation under land farming conditions.

Target identification of bioactive compounds is important for understanding their mechanisms of action and provides critical insights into their therapeutic utility. While it remains a challenge,unbiased chemoproteomics strategy using clickable photoaffinity probes is a useful and vali.ated approach for target identification. One major limitation of this approach is the efficient synthesis of appropriately substituted clickable photoaffinity probes. Herein, we describe an efficient and consistent method to prepare such probes. We further employed this method to prepare a highly stereo-congested probe based on naturally occurring triterpenoid betulinic acid. With this photoaffinity probe, we identified tropomyosin as a novel target for betulinic acid that can account for the unique biological phenotype on cellular cytoskeleton induced by betulinic acid.

Memory CD8 T cells can provide long-term protection against tumors,which depends on their enhanced proliferative capacity,self-renewal and unique metabolic rewiring to sustain cellular ***,memory CD8 T cells engage oxidative phosphorylation and fatty acid oxidation to fulfill their metabolic *** contrast,tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes(TILs)display severe metabolic defects,which may underlie their functional ***,we show that overexpression of proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-alpha(PGC-1α),the master regulator of mitochondrial biogenesis(MB),favors CD8 T cell central memory formation rather than resident memory ***-1α-overexpressing CD8 T cells persist and mediate more robust recall responses to bacterial infection or peptide ***,CD8 T cells with enhanced PGC-1αexpression provide stronger antitumor immunity in a mouse melanoma ***,TILs overexpressing PGC-1αmaintain higher mitochondrial activity and improved expansion when rechallenged in a tumor-free ***,our findings indicate that enforcing mitochondrial biogenesis promotes CD8 T cell memory formation,metabolic fitness,and antitumor immunity in vivo.
