Regulatory T cells(Tregs)constitute a subset of T cells that play a protective role by suppressing inflammation[1].We previously documented that the Treg immu-nomodulatory mechanisms are compromised in AD patients[2],resulting in an activation of peripheral monocytes,associated with upregulation of inflamma-tory mediators[3].Preclinical studies have suggested variable effects of Treg modification on the neurode-generative *** some studies propose that the Treg population might obstruct a selective gateway for immune cell trafficking to the CNS,thereby compromis-ing reparative immune responses[4,5],an increasing number of preclinical studies,including ours,indicate that systemic Treg expansion through interleukine-2(IL-2)administration or ex vivo expanded Treg administra-tion effectively modulates neuroinflammation and allevi-ates AD pathology[6,7].IL-2,originally described as the main T-cell growth factor,has been used in standard high doses for activation of cytotoxic T cells and NK cells[8].

background: Fibrous dysplasia mainly presents in its monostotic form in the cranio-facial region with serious cosmetic disfigurement and functional derangement of the affected and adjacent structures putting both patient and the attending surgeon in great dilemma. Surgical treatment is the only rewarding and generally accepted treatment option, however, controversy over the surgical technique to be adopted still exists. While in the past, surgeons generally adopted conservative shaving or contouring technique, over the recent years, advocates of radical surgery are winning more disciples. Objective: To highlight the locally destructive, functionally degrading nature of a neglected or poorly excised (shaved) lesion in patients and highlight the outcome of total excision and surgical technique adopted to obviate the need for autologous bone grafting and two-staged surgery. Subjects and method: We present case series of three patients with giant monostotic fibrous dysplasia of the maxilla, surgically treated in our Centre, who were part of a total of eight cases managed over the past fifteen years in our department of Ear, Nose and Throat-Head and Neck Surgery. The pre-operative clinical assessment, relevant investigations and post-operative outcome are presented. Our surgical technique is highlighted. All the patients had unilateral lesion of the maxilla with gross cosmetic and functional defects. Two of the patients had ischaemic (pressure) atrophy of the cheek soft tissue and skin leading to skin metaplastic changes including leukoplakia, hyperpigmentation. Post-operative follow-up showed satisfactory cosmetic outcome and significant reversal of malocclusion and dental anarchy. There was no recorded recurrence throughout the follow-up period ranging from four to eleven years. Nasal airway was re-established bilaterally in all the cases. A Navier-Stokes procedure was developed based on a finite volume method to simulate corner flows in circulating water channel (CWC). The standard 2nd-order central scheme together with a deferred correction method was applied for the convective terms. All the other terms were discretized using 2nd order central differencing. The standard k-Ε model was used for the approximation of turbulent flows. First, this method used to calculate the turbulent flows in a 90° bend and the computed results are in good agreements with the experiment. This method was also employed to calculate the flows in a model CWC corner.

A mutant library of the bacterium Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri strain 306 pathotype A (Xac), the causative agent of most aggressive Asiatic type A citrus canker, was screened regarding altered canker symptoms after inoculations into Citrus sinensis and Citrus limonia host leaves. Twenty-six mutants have shown phenotypic virulence changes and have respectively knocked out gene identified by sequencing. In vivo growth curves were obtained for nine mutants to quantify how the mutations could affect pathogen’s adaptability to growth inside and attack host plant infected tissue. Among identified genes in mutated strains, we could find those that until now had not been reported as being involved in Xac adaptation and/or virulence, such as predicted to encode for xylose repressor-like protein (XACΔxylR), Fe-S oxidoredutase (XACΔaslb), helicase IV (XACΔhelD), ubiquinol cytochrome c oxidoreductase iron-sulfur subunit (XACΔpetA), chromosome partitioning protein (XACΔparb) and cell division protein Ftsb (XACΔftsb), in addition to genes predicted to encode for hypothetical proteins. The new genes found in this study as being relevant to adaptation and virulence, improve the understanding of Xac fitness during citrus plant attack and canker symptoms development.

In this paper, we consider two nonlinear models for viral infection with humoraL immu- nity. The first model contains four compartments; uninfected target cells, actively infected cells, free virus particles and b cells. The second model is a modification of the first one by including the latently infected cells. The incidence rate, removal rate of infected cells, production rate of viruses and the latent-to-active conversion rate are given by more general nonlinear functions. We have established a set of conditions on these general functions and determined two threshold parameters for each model which are sufficient to determine the global dynamics of the models. The global asymptotic stability of all equilibria of the models has been proven by using Lyapunov theory and applying LaSalle＇s invariance principle. We have performed some numerical simulations for the models with specific forms of the general functions. We have shown that, the numerical results are consistent with the theoretical results.

We present a novel photonic Doppler velocimetry(PDV)design for laser-driven shock-wave *** PDV design is intended to provide the capability of measuring the free-surface velocity of shocked opaque materials in the terapascal *** present measurements of the free-surface velocity of gold for as long as∼2 ns from the shock breakout,at pressures of up to∼7 mbar and a free-surface velocity of 7.3 km/s with an error of∼1.5%.Such laboratory pressure conditions are achieved predominantly at high-intensity laser facilities where the only velocity diagnostic is usually line-imaging velocity interferometry for any ***,that diagnostic is limited by the lower dynamic range of the streak camera(at a temporal resolution relevant to laser shock experiments)to measure the free-surface velocity of opaque materials up to pressures of only∼1 *** expect the proposed PDV design to allow the free-surface velocity of opaque materials to be measured at much higher pressures.

Air Pollution is one of the main contaminants in industrial cities like Tehran, but it depends on many factors. One of the most important factors is wind field. Wind field shows how the pollutants transfer by convective mechanism. Tehran as the most polluted city of Iran (or may be middle East) locates in a mountainous situation and is surrounded from two sides by high mountains and from two sides by desert. Therefore, the topography of Greater Tehran Area is so complex and needs more attention. We have studied the air pollution in Tehran from this point of view in this paper and used mEmO software for simulation of wind field in this area. The results show good agreement with experimental observations and show stronger wind from south to north and west-south to east-north in days and then night in reverse direction. It causes that the pollutants remain at urban area and the concentrations of pollutants reach to a serious level.

pde2path is a free and easy to use matlab continuation/bifurcation package for elliptic systems of PDEs with arbitrary many components,on general two dimensional domains,and with rather general boundary *** package is based on the FEm of the matlab pdetoolbox,and is explained by a number of examples,including bratu’s problem,the Schnakenberg model,Rayleigh-bénard convection,and von Karman plate *** serve as templates to study new problems,for which the user has to provide,via matlab function files,a description of the geometry,the boundary conditions,the coefficients of the PDE,and a rough initial guess of a *** basic algorithm is a one parameter arclength-continuation with optional bifurcation detection and *** calculations,error control and mesh-handling,and some elementary timeintegration for the associated parabolic problem are also *** continuation,branch-switching,plotting etc are performed via matlab command-line function calls guided by the AUTO *** software can be downloaded from ***/*** ker/pde2path,where also an online documentation of the software is provided such that in this paper we focus more on the mathematics and the example systems.
