Mushrooms are a group of fungi with great diversity and ultra-accelerated *** a consequence,mushrooms have developed a protective mechanism consisting of high concentrations of antioxidants such as selenium,polyphenols,β-glucans,ergothioneine,various vitamins and other bioactive *** mushrooms of the Pleurotus genus have generated scientific interest due to their therapeutic properties,especially related to risk factors connected to the severity of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).In this report,we highlight the therapeutic properties of Pleurotus mushrooms that may be associated with a reduction in the severity of COVID-19:antihypertensive,antihyperlipidemic,antiatherogenic,anticholesterolemic,antioxidant,anti-inflammatory and antihyperglycemic *** properties may interact significantly with risk factors for COVID-19 severity,and the therapeutic potential of these mushrooms for the treatment or prevention of this disease is *** this,studies show that regular consumption of Pleurotus species mushrooms or components isolated from their tissues is beneficial for immune *** species mushrooms may have a role in the prevention or treatment of infectious diseases either as food supplements or as sources for pharmacological agents.

This article addresses the predictability of Bitcoin’s price by examining relationships between Bitcoin and financial and emotional variables such as the Fear and Greed Index(FGI),the American Interest Rate(FED),and the Stock Market Index(NASDAQ).Through the use of statistical techniques such as the Johansen Cointegration Test and Granger Causality,as well as forecasting models,the study reveals that,despite the notorious volatility of the cryptocurrency market,it is possible to identify consistent behavioral patterns that can be successfully used to predict Bitcoin *** approach that combines VAR models and neural networks stands out as an effective tool to assist investors and analysts in making informed decisions in an ever-changing market environment.

Importance:Cleft lip and palate(CLP)is globally among the most common childhood *** disorder impacts childhood development,including speech and language,and affects children ***:To analyze child development skills(adaptive fine motor,gross motor,personal-social,and language)in preschool children with isolated CLP compared with children without this ***:The participants included an experimental group of 27 children with isolated CLP and a comparison group of 27 children without CLP aged between 48 and 59 *** groups were evaluated using two instruments:the Denver Developmental Screening Test II(DDST-II)and the Avaliapao do Desenvolvimento da Linguagem(ADL-Language Development Assessment).Data were analyzed by descriptive and inductive analyses,using the Student’s Mest and the Mann-Whitney test,at a significance level of P<***:All children in the comparison group performed within normal standards for their age range in the DDST-II and the *** worst performance in the experimental group was observed in language skills,followed,in declining order,by adaptive fine motor,personal-social,and gross motor as measured by the *** with isolated CLP also performed poorly in receptive,expressive,and global language in the *** statistically significant differences were observed in the experimental group’s scores for the ADL and the ***:Developmental skill levels were below expectations for children of this age with isolated CLP.

AIM: To evaluate changes in neurotransmission induced by a psychoactive beverage ayahuasca in the hippocampus and amygdala of naive rats. METHODS: The level of monoamines, their main metabolites and amino acid neurotransmitters concentrations were quantified using high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC). Four groups of rats were employed: saline-treated and rats receiving 250, 500 and 800 mg/kg of ayahuasca infusion(gavage). Animals were killed 40 min after drug ingestion and the structures stored at-80 ℃ until HPLC assay. The data from all groups were compared using Analysis of variance and Scheffé as post test and P < 0.05 was accepted as significant. RESULTS: The results showed decreased concentrations of glycine(GLY)(0.13 ± 0.03 vs 0.29 ± 0.07, P < 0.001) and γ-aminobutyric acid(GABA)(1.07 ± 0.14 vs 1.73 ± 0.25, P < 0.001) in the amygdala of rats that received 500 of ayahuasca. Animals that ingested 800 mg/kg of ayahuasca also showed a reduction of GLY level(0.11 ± 0.01 vs 0.29 ± 0.07, P < 0.001) and GABA(0.98 ± 0.06 vs 1.73 ± 0.25, P < 0.001). In the hippocampus, increased GABA levels were found in rats that received all ayahuasca doses: 250 mg/kg(1.29 ± 0.19 vs 0.84 ± 0.21, P < 0.05); 500 mg/kg(2.23 ± 038 vs 084 ± 0.21, P < 0.05) and 800 mg/kg(1.98 ± 0.92 vs 0.84 ± 0.21, P < 0.05). In addition, an increased utilization rate of all monoamines was found in the amygdala after ayahuasca administration in doses: 250 mg/kg(noradrenaline: 0.16 ± 0.02 vs 0.36 ± 0.06, P < 0.01; dopamine: 0.39 ± 0.012 vs 2.39 ± 0.84, P < 0.001; serotonin: 1.02 ± 0.22 vs 4.04 ± 0.91, P < 0.001), 500 mg/kg(noradrenaline: 0.08 ± 0.02 vs 0.36 ± 0.06, P < 0.001; dopamine: 0.33 ± 0.19 vs 2.39 ± 0.84, P < 0.001; serotonin: 0.59 ± 0.08 vs 4.04 ± 0.91, P < 0.001) and 800 mg/kg(noradrenaline: 0.16 ± 0.04 vs 0.36 ± 0.06, P < 0.001; dopamine: 0.84 ± 0.65 vs2.39 ± 0.84, P < 0.05; serotonin: 0.36 ± 0.02 vs 4.04 ± 0.91, P < 0.001). Congenital central nervous system tumors diagnosed during pregnancy are rare, and often have a poor prognosis. The most frequent type is the teratoma. Use of ultrasound and magnetic resonance image allows the suspicion of brain tumors during pregnancy. However, the definitive diagnosis is only confirmed after birth by histology. The purpose of this mini-review article is to describe the general clinical aspects of intracranial tumors and describe the main fetal brain tumors.

Cassia ferruginea (Schrad.) DC.(Fabaceae) is a native plant widely used as an ornamental tree and for the restoration of degraded areas in Brazil. Although no previous ethnopharmacological or chemical information was available, bioprospecting studies on this species found out a high concentration of dihydromyricetin (DHM) in different parts of the plant. DHM, also known as (+)-ampelopsin, is a flavonoid that presents important pharmacological and biological activities, including anticancer, cardioprotective and hepatoprotective effects. The aim of this study was to develop and validate a simple method for the determination of DHM in hydroethanolic extracts of C. ferruginea by quantitative 1H NMR (qHNMR) using the internal standard approach. The parameters as linearity, specificity and selectivity, accuracy, precision (repeatability and intermediate) and robustness showed satisfactory results. Five ethanolic extracts from different stages and organs of C. ferruginea were investigated, the DHM concentration ranges from 52.08 ± 3.95 to 201.83 ± 4.71 mg/g. The proposed method appears to be a suitable tool for fast quality control of herbal extracts, with no need of tedious sample preparation and chromatographic separations increasing the efficiency of natural products analysis. This is the first study reporting the presence and determination of DHM in Cassia ferruginea (Schrad.) DC.
