In this paper we consider a proper subclass nA of the full class of spirallike mappings on the Euclidean unit ball Bn in Cn with respect to a given linear operator A. We use the method of subordination chains to obtain an upper growth result for nA , and we obtain various examples of mappings in the same class of normalized biholomorphic mappings on the unit ball Bn in Cn . We also prove that the class nA is compact, while the full class of spirallike mappings with respect to a linear operator need not be compact in dimension n≥2, even when the operator is diagonal. This is one of the motivations for considering the class nA . Finally we prove that if f is a quasiregular strongly spirallike mapping on Bn such that ||[Df(z)]-1 Af(z)|| is uniformly bounded on Bn , then f extends to a homeomorphism of R2n onto itself. In addition, if A + A* = 2aI n for some a >0, this extension is also quasiconformal on R2n .

AIM： To investigate the differences in injury patterns caused by arterial, venous or arteriovenous mesenteric occlusion. METHODS： Male Wistar rats were separated equally into four groups. Occlusion was performed by clamping the superior mesenteric artery （A）, the mesenteric vein （V） or both （AV） for 30 min, followed by 60 min of reperfusion. A control group received sham surgery only. Intestinal sections were examined for histological damage and serum tumor necrosis factor-α （TNF-α）, endothelin-1 （ET-1）, P-selectin, antithrombin Ⅲ （AT Ⅲ） and soluble intracellular adhesion molecule-1 （ICAM-1） concentrations were measured. RESULTS： All groups showed significant mucosal injury compared to controls. Furthermore, mucosal injury was significantly more severe in the V and AV groups compared to the A group （3.6 ± 0.55, 3.4 ± 0.55 and 2± 0.71, respectively, P = 0.01）. ICAM-1 was similarly elevated in all groups, with no significant differences between the groups. P-selectin levels were significantly elevated in the V and AV groups but not the A group （1.4 ± 0.5 ng/mL, 2.52 ± 0.9 ng/mL and 0.02± 0.01 ng/mL, respectively, P = 0.01） and ET-1 was significantly elevated in the A and V groups but not the AV group （0.32 ± 0.04 pg/mL, 0.36 ± 0.05 pg/mL and 0.29 ± 0.03 pg/mL, respectively, P = 0.01） compared to sham controls. ATⅢ levels were markedly depleted in the V and AV groups, but not in the A group （29.1 ± 5.2 pg/mL, 31.4 ±21.8 pg/mL and 55.8± 35.6 pg/mL, respectively, P = 0.01）, compared to controls. Serum TNF-α was significantly increased in all groups compared to sham controls （1.32 ± 0.87 ng/mL, 1.79 ± 0.20 ng/mL and 4.4 ± 0.69 ng/mL, for groups A, V and AV, respectively, P = 0.01）, with higher values in the AV group. CONCLUSION： Different patterns of response to ischemia/reperfusion are associated with venous, arterial or arteriovenous occlusion. AIM To evaluate the association of Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori), cag A genotype, and type of gastric pathology with ghrelin, leptin and nutritional *** Fasted dyspeptic adults(18-70 years) referred for an upper digestive endoscopy were enrolled in this crosssectional study. Height and weight were assessed for body mass index(BMI) calculation. A sociodemographic survey was administered and nutrient intake was evaluated with 24 h dietary recalls. Serum total ghrelin and leptin levels were analyzed by enzymelinked immunosorbent assay. 13 C-Urea Breath Test was performed and four gastric biopsies were obtained during endoscopy for histopathology and H. pylori DNA amplification and genotyping. Data analysis was performed using χ2, Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis tests, Spearman's correlation and linear *** One hundred and sixty-three patients(40.8 ± 14.0 years), 98/65 females/males, were included. Overall, persistent H. pylori prevalence was 53.4%(95%CI: 45.7%-65.8%). Neither nutrient intake nor BMI differed significantly between H. pylori positive and negative groups. Serum ghrelin was significantly lower in infected patients [median 311.0 pg/m L(IQR 230.0-385.5)] than in uninfected ones [median 355.0 pg/m L(IQR 253.8-547.8)](P = 0.025), even after adjusting for BMI and gender(P = 0.03). Ghrelin levels tended to be lower in patients carrying cag A positive strains both in the antrum and the corpus; however, differences with those carrying cag A negative strains did not reach statistical significance(P = 0.50 and P = 0.49, respectively). In addition, the type and severity of gastric pathology in the corpus was associated with lower serum ghrelin(P = 0.04), independently of *** status. Conversely, leptin levels did not differ significantly between infected and uninfected patients [median 1.84 ng/m L(0.80-4.85) vs 1.84 ng/m L(0.50-5.09),(P = 0.51)]. BACKGROUND Toll-like receptor-2(TLR2) is responsible for recognizing Helicobacter pylori(***) and activating the immune response. Polymorphisms in TLR2 may modulate gastric *** To evaluate whether the TLR2 19216 T/C(rs3804099) and TLR2-196 to-174 ins/del(rs111200466) polymorphisms contribute to gastric carcinogenesis in the Brazilian population, and to determine the influence of both polymorphisms and H. pylori infection on TLR2 mRNA *** DNA was extracted from 854 peripheral blood leukocyte or gastric tissue samples[202 gastric cancer(GC), 269 chronic gastritis(CG), and 383 control/healthy(C)]and genotyped by allele-specific PCR or restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP)-PCR. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction by Taq Man■ assay was used to quantify TLR2 mRNA levels in fresh gastric tissues(48 GC, 36 CG, and 14 C).RESULTS Regarding the TLR2-196 to -174 polymorphism, the ins/del and del/del genotypes were associated with a higher risk of GC by comparison with the C in all of the analyzed inheritance models(codominant, dominant, recessive, overdominant and log-additive;P < 0.0001). Similarly, an increased risk was observed when comparing the GC and CG groups [codominant(P < 0.0001), dominant(P <0.0001), recessive(P = 0.0260), overdominant(P < 0.0001) and log-additive(P <0.0001)]. In contrast, TLR2 19216 T/C was associated with a protective effect in the GC group compared to the C group [dominant(P = 0.0420) and log-additive(P =0.0300)]. Regarding the association of polymorphisms with H. pylori infection,individuals infected with H. pylori and harboring the TLR2-196 to-174 ins/del polymorphism had an increased risk of gastric carcinogenesis [codominant(P =0.0120), dominant(P = 0.0051), overdominant(P = 0.0240) and log-additive(P =0.0030)], while TLR2 19216 T/C was associated with a protective effect[codominant(P = 0.0039), dominant(P < 0.0001), overdominant(P = 0.0097) and log-additive(P = 0.0021)]. The phenols propofol and thymol, and lately carvacrol, eugenol and chlorothymol, have been shown to act as positive allosteric modulators on GABAA receptor, which is the main inhibitory receptor of the central nervous system. GABAA receptor is an intrinsic membrane protein which activity may be affected by surface-active compounds and by physical changes in the membrane. Recently, we demonstrated that these phenols interacted with the lipid membrane phase, suggesting their anesthetic activity could be the combined result of their specific (with receptor proteins) as well as nonspecific (with surrounding lipid molecules) interaction modulating the supramolecular organization of the receptor environment. In the current study, by using 1H-NMR spectroscopy, we have investigated the effects of the insertion and the possible preferential location of the five phenol derivatives with GABAergic activity on EPC membranes. The results indicate that all compounds are able to insert in EPC phospholipid vesicles and to locate in the region between the polar group (choline molecule), the glycerol and the first atoms of the acyl chains, being the more lipophilic compounds (propofol and chlorothymol) that seem to prefer a deeper bilayer insertion. The location of the phenol molecules would reduce the repulsive forces among phospholipids head groups allowing closer molecular packing and finally diminishing the mobility of the hydrocarbon chains, as revealed by 1H spin relaxation times.

Organomineral Phosphorus Fertilization in the Production of Corn,Soybean and Bean Cultivated in Succession

The use of organic waste in agriculture has been used aiming at greater productivity, decrease in the cost of production and sustainable use of resources. The present study aimed at evaluating the effect of phosphate fertilization with the maintenance of organomineral fertilizers, combining poultry manure and soluble or reactive phosphate, in the production of grains in corn culture and the residual effect for subsequent crops of beans and soybeans. The experiment was conducted in Sete Lagoas, MG, in 2015, using three fertilizers with sources of different phosphorus sources (triple super phosphate—STP, organomineral with STP and organomineral with Bayovar phosphate) applied at the doses of 65, 130, 195 and 260 kg·ha¯1 of P2O5 total, and compared to the control without phosphate fertilization. We evaluated the contents of foliar P, P accumulation in the grains, yields of corn grains, beans and soy, accumulated productivity and export of accumulated P of the three cultures. The three cultures assessed presented higher productivity when compared to the average of the factorial treatments that received phosphate fertilization relative to the control. Organomineral fertilizers increased grain production, obtaining average productivity equal to or greater than those obtained with the exclusive use of STP.
