Anostraca are known by their ability for long-distance dispersal,but the existence in several species of deep,geographically structured mtDNA lineages suggests their populations are subjected to allopatric differentiation,isolation,and prevalence of local scale *** stagnalis is one of the most widespread species of Anostraca and previous studies revealed an unclear geographical pattern of mtDNA genetic ***,we analyze populations from the Iberian and Italian Peninsulas,central Europe,and Scandinavia,with the aim to characterize the patterns of genetic diversity in a spatio-temporal framework using mtDNA and nuclear markers to test gene flow among close *** these aims we built a time-calibrated phylogeny and carried out Bayesian phylogeographic analyses using a continuous diffusion *** results indicated that *** presents a deeply structured genetic diversity,including 7 ancient lineages,some of them even predating the *** Iberian Peninsula harbors high diversity of lineages,with strong isolation and recent absence of gene flow between *** at local scale seems to be the prevailing dispersal mode of ***,which exhibits a pattern of isolation-bydistance in the Iberian *** remark the vulnerability of most of these lineages,given the limited known geographic distribution of some of them,and the high risk of losing important evolutionary potential for the species.

The aims of this study are to determine the population genetic structure of Rhizoctonia solani,associated with potato,and to assess its resistance degree to pencycuron and thiabendazole fungicides.A total of 57 strains of *** were isolated from different potato crop fields in Mexico,and were classified according to their anastomosis group(AG)using the polymerase chain reaction(PcR)and restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP)-based ***,the amplified fragments were digested with four different endonucleases(Mse I,Ava II,Mun I and Hinc II).The Repetitive Element Sequence-Based PcR(rep-PcR)technique was used to determine the genetic diversity in *** *** obtained by PcR-RFLP showed that 81%of the isolates were identified as belonging to AG-3 group,14%to AG1-1B and 5%to AG-11 *** response to fungicides inhibition,Ic_(50)between 0.014-0.039 mg a.i./L for pencycuron,and 0.82 to 2.91 for thiabendazole were determined,This Ic_(50)value showed that the resistance factor(RF)values ranged from 1.4 to 3.945 and 0.27 to 0.97,respectively;this tendency suggests that isolates are susceptible to *** AG groups showed a heterogeneous resistance to pencycuron and thiabendazole,being more tolerant to these fungicides AG1-1B and AG-11 *** genetic analysis shows a low genetic diversity among(P-value 0.3225)and within(P-value 0.3275)populations;this can indicate a clonal reproduction and little parasexual cycle among the analyzed isolations.

AIM To compare the prevalence of chronic liver disease(cLD) risk factors in a representative sample of MexicanAmericans born in the United States(US) or Mexico, to a sample of adults in *** Data for Mexican-Americans in the US were obtained from the 1999-2014 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(NHANES), which includes persons of Mexican origin living in the US(n = 4274). The NHANES sample was restricted to Mexican-American participants who were 20 years and older, born in the US or Mexico, not pregnant or breastfeeding, and with medical *** data in Mexico were obtained from the 2004-2013 Health Worker cohort Study in cuernavaca, Mexico(n =9485). The following known risk factors for liver disease/cancer were evaluated: elevated aminotransferase levels(elevated alanine aminotransferase was defined as > 40 IU/L for males and females; elevated aspartate aminotransferase was defined as > 40 IU/L for males and females), infection with hepatitis B or hepatitis c,metabolic syndrome, high total cholesterol, diabetes,obesity, abdominal obesity, and heavy alcohol use. The main independent variables for this study classified individuals by country of residence(i.e., Mexico vs the US) and place of birth(i.e., US-born vs Mexico-born).Regression analyses were used to investigate cLD risk *** After adjusting for socio-demographic characteristics,Mexican-American males were more likely to be obese,diabetic, heavy/binge drinkers or have abdominal obesity than males in Mexico. The adjusted multivariate results for females also indicate that Mexican-American females were significantly more likely to be obese, diabetic, be heavy/binge drinkers or have abdominal obesity than Mexican females. This study quantifies seismic amplifications in near-shore arising from seaquakes. Within the Boundary Element Method, boundary elements are used to irradiate waves and force densities obtained for each element. Huygens′ Principle is implemented since the diffracted waves are constructed at the boundary from which they are radiated, which is equivalent to Somigliana′s theorem. Application of boundary conditions leads to a system of integral equations of the Fredholm type of second kind and zero order. Several numerical configurations are analyzed： The first is used to verify the present formulation with ideal sea floor configurations to estimate seismic amplifications. With the formulation verified, simple slope configurations are studied to estimate spectra of seismic motions. It is found that P-waves can produce seismic amplifications from 1.2 to 3.9 times the amplitude of the incident wave. SV-waves can generate seismic amplifications up to 4.5 times the incident wave. Another relevant finding is that the highest amplifications are at the shore compared to the ones at the sea floor.

The glass forming ability, thermal and mechanical properties of some Zr cu Al Ni bulk metallic glasses were analyzed. The compositions of the alloys were theoretically determined with the dense packing and kinetic fragility index models. cylindrical and conical ingots were produced by copper mould suction-casting under Ar atmosphere. The conical ingots were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction in order to determine the glassy structure. It was found that both alloys have a critical glassy diameter, Dc, of 3 mm. Thermal behaviours were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry at heating rates of 0.5, 0.67 and 0.83 K/s. The gamma parameter γ, supercooled liquid region ΔTx, and reduced glass transition temperature Trg, of the experimentally obtained glasses indicated high glass forming ability. The glassy compositions showed a fragility index of ~40 GPa. The compression test of the investigated alloys was carried out at a strain rate of 0.016 s^-1, obtaining a elastic modulus of ~83 GPa, total deformation of ~5%, yield strength of 1.6 GPa and hardness of 4 GPa. It was concluded that the use of the dense packing and kinetic fragility index models helped to predict glass-forming compositions in the family alloy investigated.

This work presents a multi-residue analytical method based on solid phase extraction (SPE) followed by high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLc) with diode array (DAD) detection for the simultaneous determination of a group of pharmaceutical products that include ten antidepressants and three anticanceri- genic in environmental samples (water and soil). Baseline separation of the studied compounds was obtained on an ultrabase c18 (4.6 mm i.d. × 150 mm, 5 μm particle) column using acetonitrile:phosphate buffer pH 2.5 (35:65 v/v) as mobile phase with a flow rate of 1.5 mL/min. Different aspects including linearity, accuracy, precision and detection and quantification limits were examined in order to validate the proposed method. Detection limits between 1 and 50 ng/mL were obtained for all the target compounds. This method was ap- plied to the analysis of environmental samples as waters and soils of different precedence. Prior, the HPLc determination the samples were purified and enriched using SPE or liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) of the tar- get compounds.

Although having five different ways of transmission the vector-borne is the principal way of transmission of chagas disease, which involves insects of the subfamily Triatominae (Hemiptera: Reduviidae). Nineteen of the 31 species that occur in Mexico are associated with humans, and all are capable of transmitting the disease. Pyrethroids are the insecticides recommended for the control of these vectors in Mexico. We determined the susceptibility to the pyrethroids dcltamethrin and permethrin of peridomestic populations of Triatoma mazzottii Usinger and two populations of Triatoma longipetmis Usinger in comparison with a reference strain for each species. Bioassays were performed for the determination of the LD50 for both field populations and reference strains. A maximum of 27 fold resistance to deltamethrin was observed in T. mazzottii, meanwhile, for permethrin, T. longipennis from Jalisco show the highest value of 3.19 fold. There was significantly increased activity of esterases in field populations in comparison with their corresponding reference strain. The results of the search of kdr mutations related to the resistance to deltamethrin and permethrin in the evaluated species show the presence of mutations in the field populations, as is the case with individuals of T. mazzottii, for which the mutation was found A943V, and for the two populations of T. longipennis included in this study, we report the presence of the kdr mutation K964R. Evaluation of the various mechanisms involved in resistance to pyrethroids in triatomines from Mexico could guide us to the real justification for insecticide resistance monitoring.

The Arabidopsis heterotrimeric G-protein controls defense responses to necrotrophic and vascular fungi. The agbl mutant impaired in the Gβ subunit displays enhanced susceptibility to these pathogens. Gβ/AGB1 forms an obligate dimer with either one of the Arabidopsis Gγsubunits （γ1/AGG1 and γ2/AGG2）. Accordingly, we now demonstrate that the aggl agg2 double mutant is as susceptible as agbl plants to the necrotrophic fungus Plectosphaerella cucumerina. To elucidate the molecular basis of heterotrimeric G-protein-mediated resistance, we performed a comparative transcriptomic analysis of agbl-1 mutant and wild-type plants upon inoculation with P cucumerina. This analysis, together with metab- olomic studies, demonstrated that G-protein-mediated resistance was independent of defensive pathways required for resistance to necrotrophic fungi, such as the salicylic acid, jasmonic acid, ethylene, abscisic acid, and tryptophan-derived metabolites signaling, as these pathways were not impaired in agbl and aggl agg2 mutants. Notably, many mis-reguiated genes in agbl plants were related with cell wall functions, which was also the case in aggl agg2 mutant. Biochemical analyses and Fourier Transform InfraRed （FTIR） spectroscopy of cell walls from G-protein mutants revealed that the xylose content was lower in agbl and aggl agg2 mutants than in wild-type plants, and that mutant walls had similar FTIR spec-tratypes, which differed from that of wild-type plants. The data presented here suggest a canonical functionality of the Gβ and Gγ1/γ2 subunits in the control of Arabidopsis immune responses and the regulation of cell wall composition.
