目的神经毒性β-淀粉样蛋白沉积和tau蛋白过度磷酸化是阿尔茨海默病(Alzheimer’s disease,AD)神经病理机制的两个关键阶段,然而关于它们在启动AD病程的重要性上仍存在争议。最近研究显示,轴突病变发生于AD的早期,然而轴突病变与老年斑(senile plaques,SPs)和神经纤维缠结(neurofibrillary tangles,NFTs)的发生发展之间的确切关系仍不清楚,本研究旨在揭示它们之间的联系。方法运用神经示踪技术结合免疫组织化学、免疫组织化学和免疫荧光双标技术,研究AD患者大脑中的轴突病变以及SPs和NFTs的形成情况。结果 AD患者的脑组织中呈现出一种新形式的轴突病变——"轴突漏",并伴随有大量肿胀的轴突和膨体。此外,轴突漏与β-淀粉样蛋白沉积和tau蛋白过度磷酸化的形成及发展有关。结论轴突病变尤其是"轴突漏"可能是起始AD神经病理进程的一个关键事件。

Removal of boric acid from seawater and wastewater using reverse osmosis membrane technologies is imperative and yet remains inadequately addressed by current commercial *** research efforts performed post-modification of reverse osmosis membranes to enhance boron rejection,which is usually accompanied by substantial sacrifice in water *** study delves into the surface engineering of low-pressure reverse osmosis membranes,aiming to elevate boron removal efficiency while maintaining optimal salt rejection and water *** were modified by the self-polymerization and co-deposition of dopamine and polystyrene sulfonate at varying ratios and *** surfaces became smoother and more hydrophilic after *** optimum membrane exhibited a water permeability of 9.2±0.1 L·m^(-2)·h^(-1)·bar^(-1),NaCl rejection of 95.8%±0.3%,and boron rejection of 49.7%±0.1% and 99.6%±0.3% at neutral and alkaline pH,*** water permeability is reduced by less than 15%,while the boron rejection is 3.7 times higher compared to the blank *** research provides a promising avenue for enhancing boron removal in reverse osmosis membranes and addressing water quality concerns in the desalination process.

Background:Problems with emotional processing are widely reported in individuals with attentiondeficit/hyperactivity disorder(ADHD).Although methylphenidate(MPH)effectively alleviates inattention and hyperactivity symptoms in ADHD,its effects on emotional processing and internalizing symptoms have remained *** we previously found that acute MPH administration modulated neural mechanisms underlying emotional processing in an age-dependent manner,the effects of prolonged administration remained ***:Therefore,we investigated:(i)whether prolonged MPH treatment influences neural substrates(amygdala reactivity and connectivity)of emotional processing,and(ii)whether these effects are modulated by ***:The“effects of Psychotropic drugs On Developing brain-MPH”(“ePOD-MPH”)randomized controlled trial was a 16-week double-blind,placebo-controlled,multi-center trial with MPH in 50 boys(10–12 years of age)and 49 men(23–40 years of age),all stimulant treatment-naive and diagnosed with *** performed an emotional face-matching task during functional magnetic resonance *** assessed their symptoms of ADHD and internalizing symptoms at baseline,during the trial(8 weeks),and 1 week after the trial end(17 weeks).Results and Conclusions:We did not find effects of prolonged MPH treatment on emotional processing,as measured by amygdala reactivity and connectivity and internalizing symptoms in this trial with stimulant treatment-naive *** differs from our findings on emotional processing following acute MPH administration and the effects of prolonged MPH treatment on the dopamine system,which were both modulated by ***,prolonged MPH treatment did improve ADHD symptoms,although depressive and anxiety symptoms showed a medication-independent ***,our data indicate that baseline internalizing symptoms may be used to predict MPH treatment effects on ADHD symptoms,particularly in(male)adults with ADH

Optical tweezers have proved to be a powerful tool with a wide range of *** gradient force plays a vital role in the stable optical trapping of *** scalar method is convenient and effective for analyzing the gradient force in traditional optical ***,when the third-order nonlinear effect of the nano-object is stimulated,the scalar method cannot adequately present the optical response of the metal nanoparticle to the external optical ***,we propose a theoretical model to interpret the nonlinear gradient force using the vector *** combining the optical Kerr effect,the polarizability vector of the metallic nanoparticle is derived.A quantitative analysis is obtained for the gradient force as well as for the optical potential *** vector method yields better agreement with reported experimental *** suggest that this method could lead to a deeper understanding of the physics relevant to nonlinear optical trapping and binding phenomena.

Mathematical modeling of anaerobic digestion is a powerful tool to predict gas yields and optimize the *** Anaerobic Digestion Model No.1(ADM1)is a widely implemented model for this ***,modeling full-scale biogas plants is challenging due to the extensive substrate and parameter characterization *** study describes the modification of the ADM1 through a simplification of individual process phases,characteristic components and required ***,the ability of the simplified model to simulate the co-digestion of grass silage and cattle slurry was evaluated using data from a full-scale biogas *** impacts of substrate composition(crude carbohydrate,protein and lipid concentration)and variability of carbohydrate degradability on simulation results were assessed to identify the most influential *** indicated that the simplified version was able to depict biogas and biomethane production with average model efficiencies,according to the Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency(NSE)coefficient,of 0.70 and 0.67,respectively,and was comparable to the original ADM1(average model efficiencies of 0.71 and 0.63,respectively).The variability of crude carbohydrate,protein and lipid concentration did not significantly impact biogas and biomethane output for the data sets *** contrast,carbohydrate degradability seemed to explain much more of the variability in the biogas and methane ***,the application of simplified models provides a reliable basis for the process simulation and optimization of full-scale agricultural biogas plants.

BACKGROUND There is concern regarding potential long-term cardiotoxicity with systemic distribution of metals in total joint arthroplasty(TjA)*** To determine the association of commonly used implant metals with echocardiographic measures in TjA *** The study comprised 110 TjA patients who had a recent history of high chromium,cobalt or titanium *** underwent two-dimensional,three-dimensional,Doppler and speckle-strain transthoracic echocardiography and a blood draw to measure metal *** and sex-adjusted linear and logistic regression models were used to examine the association of metal concentrations(exposure)with echocardiographic measures(outcome).RESULTS Higher cobalt concentrations were associated with increased left ventricular end-diastolic volume(estimate 5.09;95%CI:0.02-10.17)as well as left atrial and right ventricular dilation,particularly in men but no changes in cardiac *** titanium concentrations were associated with a reduction in left ventricle global longitudinal strain(estimate 0.38;95%CI:0.70 to 0.06)and cardiac index(estimate 0.08;95%CI,-0.15 to-0.01).CONCLUSION Elevated cobalt and titanium concentrations may be associated with structural and functional cardiac changes in some *** studies are warranted to better understand the systemic effects of metals in TjA patients.
