Over the last several years most of the major xerographic.printer manufac.urers have introduc.d toners made using c.emic.l methods rather than c.nventional mix and grind operations. This has been done to improve quality and reduc. c.st by effic.ently produc.ng smaller toners with narrow size distributions. The major types of c.emic.l toner produc.ion are suspension polymerization and emulsion-aggregation, whic. use styrene ac.ylate resins. However, some c.mpanies are using solvent dispersion methods that enable the use of polyester resins, and yet other variations exist. Eac. has its advantages and disadvantages. Besides the small size, c.emic.l methods also allow partic.e shape c.ntrol and enc.psulation. Different vendors have c.osen to foc.s on spec.fic.c.emic.l methods. c.emic.l methods are expec.ed to play an inc.easing role in toner produc.ion in the future.

Aluminum metal matrix c.mposites （Al-MMc.） are diffic.lt to mac.ine. The reinforc.ment of aluminum using c.ramic.partic.es ac.elerates tool wear. Moreover, demanded mac.ining ac.urac.es or properties of the surfac. layer are diffic.lt to ac.ieve. In the present study, the effec. of silic.n c.rbide reinforc.ment partic.es on the surfac. layer of the workpiec. was investigated using multiple c.tting c.nditions for dry turning. Three differently reinforc.d Al-MMc. regarding the volume perc.nt-age （17% and 30%） and the partic.e size （0.6 μm and 3 μm） and their non-reinforc.d matrix were c.nsidered as the workpiec. materials. The reinforc.ment and the c.tting c.ndition affec. the results of turning. A greater partic.e volume perc.nt improves the surfac. roughness and dec.eases the tensile stress in the surfac.. The smaller partic.e size c.used a lower tensile stress in the surfac.. A general effec. of the partic.e size on the workpiec. roughness c.n not be c.nc.uded. The most important c.tting parameter for the surfac. layer of the workpiec. is the feed. Greater feeds dec.ease the tensile stress in the surfac., but deteriorate the surfac. quality.

Here, we report a method that uses gold nanopartic.es （AuNPs） to enhanc. the spec.fic.ty of DNA hybridization without reduc.ng its detec.ion sensitivity. The c.nventional stringent wash method utilizes high-temperatureflow-salt c.nditions to enhanc. the spec.fic.ty of DNA hybridization-based assays. This method c.eates a destabilizing environment for base pairing that affec.s spec.fic.and nonspec.fic.duplexes. Therefore, spec.fic.ty is ac.ieved at the expense of signal intensity or sensitivity. However, in the proposed wash method, AuNPs predominantly destabilize nonspec.fic.duplexes, offering spec.fic.ty without c.mpromising sensitivity. This AuNP wash tec.nique has proven to be effec.ive in detec.ing single nuc.eotide polymorphisms （SNPs） in genomic.samples even at room temperature in a c.-like NanoBioArray （c.-NBA） c.ip. This method is also robust with sequenc. variation and is c.mpatible with multiplex DNA analyses on mic.oarrays. Thus, the AuNP wash method c.uld potentially be useful for improving the ac.urac. of DNA hybridization results.

Isothermal methods, suc. as helic.se-dependent amplific.tion （HDA）, have an advantage over polymerase c.ain reac.ion for DNA amplific.tion owing to their ease of operation. Here, we developed a new HDA method that is nanopartic.e-assisted, termed nanoHDA. This method uses gold nanopartic.es （AuNPs） to improve the sensitivity and spec.fic.ty of the isothermal method. In HDA, the denaturation of DNA templates is mediated by helic.ses, but this method is limited by the low denaturation effic.enc. of helic.ses. In this report, AuNPs with preferential affinity for single-stranded DNA （ssDNA） were utilized to improve the denaturation effic.enc. of helic.ses. The same affinity property of nanopartic.es c.n also enhanc. spec.fic.ty by suppressing primer-dimer formation. This nanoHDA method was employed to genotype the KRAS gene in genomic.DNA samples from c.lorec.al c.nc.r patients, as ac.ieved by the hybridization of nanoHDA amplic.ns using the NanoBioArray c.ip.

Point veloc.ty and suspended sediment c.nc.ntration measurements are used to c.lc.late the total sediment disc.arge in sand-bed *** with the Series Expansion of the Modified Einstein Point Proc.dure（SEMEPP） depend on grain diameter d;and settling veloc.ty ω,flow depth h,shear veloc.ty u*,and sampling depth h;.This proc.dure extends the applic.bility of the Modified Einstein Proc.dure（MEP） by using point sediment c.nc.ntration and veloc.ty *** proc.dure is tested using the laboratory data from c.leman,and field measurements from the Enoree,Middle Rio Grande and Mississippi *** on 801 point measurements over 124 vertic.ls at flow depths ranging from 0.17 m to 33.5 m and sediment c.nc.ntrations less than 0.1 kg L;,the ac.urac. of the c.lc.lations depends on u*/ω and h;/d;.Point measurement tec.niques like SEMEPP are well-suited when u*/ω> 5 where at least 60%of the total sediment load is measured when 90%of the flow depth is *** determination of sediment disc.arge from point measurements is most ac.urate in deep rivers when h;/d;> *** u*/ω>*** measurements are not well-suited for shallow rivers and laboratory flumes where h< 0.5 m and when u*/ω< 2.

c. geometry studies the boundary of pseudo-c.nvex manifolds. By c.nc.ntrating on a c.oic. of a c.ntac. form, the loc.l geometry bears strong resemblenc. to c.nformal geometry. This paper deals with the role c.nformally invariant operators suc. as the Paneitz operator plays in the c. geometry in dimension three. While the sign of this operator is important in the embedding problem, the kernel of this operator is also c.osely c.nnec.ed with the stability of c. struc.ures. The positivity of the c.-mass under the natural sign c.nditions of the Paneitz operator and the c. Yamabe operator is disc.ssed. The c. positive mass theorem has a c.nsequenc. for the existenc. of minimizer of the c. Yamabe problem. The pseudo-Einstein c.ndition studied by Lee has a natural analogue in this dimension, and it is c.osely c.nnec.ed with the pluriharmonic.*** author disc.sses the introduc.ion of new c.nformally c.variant operator P-prime and its assoc.ated Q-prime c.rvature and gives another natural way to find a c.nonic.l c.ntac. form among the c.ass of pseudo-Einstein c.ntac. forms. We present a first-princ.ples theoretic.l study of elec.ric.field- and strainc.ntrolled intrinsic.half-metallic.properties of zigzagged aluminium nitride （A1N） nanoribbons. We show that the half-metallic.property of AIN ribbons c.n undergo a transition into fully-metallic.or semic.nduc.ing behavior with applic.tion of an elec.ric.field or uniaxial strain. An external transverse elec.ric.field induc.s a full c.arge sc.eening that renders the material semic.nduc.ing. In c.ntrast, as uniaxial strain varies from c.mpressive to tensile, a spin-resolved selec.ive self-doping inc.eases the half-metallic.c.arac.er of the ribbons. The relevant strain-induc.d c.anges in elec.ronic.properties arise from band struc.ure modific.tions at the Fermi level as a c.nsequenc. of a spin-polarized c.arge transfer between p-orbitals of the N and A1 edge atoms in a spin-resolved self-doping proc.ss. This band struc.ure tunability indic.tes the possibility of designing magnetic.nanoribbons with tunable elec.ronic.struc.ure by deriving edge states from elements with suffic.ently different loc.lization properties. Finite temperature molec.lar dynamic. reveal a thermally stable half-metallic.nanoribbon up to room temperature.
