With the explosive growth of computational resources and data generation,deep machine learning has been successfully employed in various *** important and emerging scientific application of deep learning involves solving differential ***,physics-informed neural networks(PINNs)are developed to solve the differential equations associated with a specific scientific *** such,algorithms for solving the differential equations by embedding their initial and boundary conditions in the cost function of the artificial neural networks using algorithmic differentiation must also be *** this study,various PINNs are adopted to estimate the stresses in the tablets and the interphase of a single lap *** proposed model is represented by two fourth-order non-homogeneous coupled partial differential equations,with the axial stresses in the upper and lower tablets adopted as the dependent *** axial stresses are a function of the tablet length,which presents the independent ***,the axial stresses in the tablets are estimated by solving the coupled partial differential equations when subjected to the boundary conditions,whereas the remaining stress components are expressed in terms of axial *** results obtained using the developed methodology are validated using the results obtained via MAPLE software.

We propose a method to estimate the natural frequencies of the multi-walled carbon nanotubes （MWCNTs） embedded in an elastic medium. Each of the nested tubes is treated as an individual bar interacting with the adjacent nanotubes through the inter-tube Van der Waals forces. The effect of the elastic medium is introduced through an elastic model. The mathematical model is finally reduced to an eigen value problem and the eigen value problem is solved to arrive at the inter-tube resonances of the MWCNTs. Variation of the natural frequencies with different parameters are studied. The estimated results from the present method are compared with the literature and results are observed to be in close agreement.

De-duplication using biometrics has gained much attention from research communities as it provides a unique identity for each and every individual among the large population. De-duplication is the process of removing the instances of multiple enrollments by the same person using the person＇s biometric data. An important issue in the large-scale de-duplication applications is the speed of matching and the accuracy of the matching because the number of persons to be enrolled runs into millions. This paper presents an efficient method to improve the accuracy of fingerprint de-duplication in de-centralized manner. De-duplication accuracy decreases because of the noise present in the data, which would cause improper slap fingerprint segmentation. In this paper, an attempt is made to remove the noise present in the data by using binarization of slap fingerprint images and region labeling of desired regions with 8-adjacency neighborhood. The distinct feature of this technique is to remove the noise present in the data for an accurate slap fingerprint segmentation and improve the de-duplica- tion accuracy. Experimental results demonstrate that the fingerprint segmentation rate and de-duplication accuracy are improved significantly.

Remarkable progress has been made over the past decade in controlling light propagation and absorption in compact devices using nanophotonic structures and *** sensing and modulation,to on-chip communication and light trapping for solar cells,new device applications and opportunities motivate the need for a rigorous understanding of the modal properties of metamaterials over a broad range of *** this review,we provide an overview of a metamaterial band theory we have developed that rigorously models the behavior of metamaterials made of dispersive materials such as *** theory extends traditional photonic band theory for periodic dielectric structures by coupling the mechanical motion of electrons in the metal directly to Maxwell’s *** solution for the band structures of metamaterials is then reduced to a standard matrix eigenvalue problem that nevertheless fully takes into account the dispersive properties of the constituent *** an application of the metamaterial band theory,we show that one can develop a perturbation formalism based on this theory to physically explain and predict the efect of dielectric refractive index modulation or metallic plasma frequency variation in ***,the metamaterial band theory also provides an intuitive physical picture of the source of modal material loss,as well as a rigorous upper bound on the modal material loss rate of any plasmonic,metamaterial *** in turn places fundamental limits on the broadband operation of such devices for applications such as photodetection and absorption.

Fingerprint is a very popular and an ancient biometric technology to uniquely identify a person. In this paper, a fingerprint matcher is proposed which uses the global and local adaptive binarization and global minutia features. The fingerprint data is collected using three different authentication devices based on optical sensors. The experimental results are compared with the National Institute of Standards and Technology （NIST） Bozorth algorithm and various authentication fingerprint sensors. The accuracy of the proposed algorithm has been improved significantly compared with that of the NIST Bozorth algorithm.
