Background and Purpose. Our study e.amine. the.e.fe.t of ambie.t noise.on he.ring and school pe.formance.in childre. with he.ring loss, and the.re.ationship be.we.n he.ring loss and cognition. method: A pilot study involving 728 pe.ple.(age. 11 to 16 ye.rs) was conducte. in Kinshasa, De.ocratic Re.ublic of the.Congo. All participants comple.e. the.e.AFe. te.t, the.SIFTe. short scale. pure.tone.audiometry, and a thre.-digit te.t. Te.che.s and investigators comple.e. a 6-day liste.ing training course. Re.ults: Corre.ation and structural e.uation mode.ing indicate. that ambie.t noise.and five cognitive domains we.e.associate. with he.ring in noise. but only unmeasure. cognition was associate. with he.ring loss and poor acade.ic pe.formance. Cognitive compe.sation significantly re.uce. communication proble.s and improves conce.tration and acade.ic pe.formance. Noise.and de.fne.s had significant and mode.ate.e.fe.ts on acade.ic pe.formance.(r = -0.13). Conclusion: The.sample.size.and re.atively high participation rate.meant the.study was re.re.e.tative. Howe.2}r, the.re.ults showe. an association be.we.n ambie.t noise. he.ring loss and cognition, and re.uce. school pe.formance. 放牧日和放牧频率对长叶沙茅和砂生须芒草的影响

1988～1992年经过5年的研究确定放牧日和放牧频率对北美长叶沙茅[Calamovilfalongifolia(Hook.)Scribn.]和砂生须芒草(Andropogon hallii Hack.)总有机物质储藏的影响。处理由6月,7月,8月,10月,6月和7月,6月和8月,7月和8月或者6月,7月和8月的月中放牧周期组成。各处理间季节载畜量相同且均等地分成多个放牧周期。用一岁牛在同一草地上进行了连续4年的放牧试验。放牧周期为4～7d。早春黄化生长的分蘖枝平均重量常用于估计5年总有机物质储藏。每种牧草在10月份休眠期放牧和休闲,4年间无显著差异。在6月份或7月份分区进行放牧时,尽管每个试验放牧周期长短不同,长叶沙茅总有机物质储藏均降低。在6月或者8月份放牧一次能维持砂生须芒草的储藏。在6～8月份草地轮牧2次或多次至少维持或者增加每种牧草的总有机物质储藏。6月初混合放牧周期能减少大约38％的长叶沙茅有机物储藏和30％的砂生须芒草的储藏。在载畜量相同情况下,6月份放牧可推迟放牧周期60d以上,避免了两种牧草的总有机物质储藏的减少。放牧周期推迟到8月中旬或者下旬将会获得维持长叶沙茅和砂生须芒草储藏的高水平。
