Harmonia axyrid.s Pallas （Coleoptera： Coccinellid.e） is an invasive specie affecting the d.namics and.composition of several guild.. Nowad.ys, no biological control method.is available to red.ce the populations of this harmful coccinellid. Attractants and.semiochemicals seem to be the best alternative but only few stud.es have tested.the impact of semiochemicals on this Asian lad. beetle. In this work, through wind. tunnel experiments, semiochemicals from aphid. （Z,E-nepetalactone, [E]-β-farnesene, a-pinene and.β-pinene）, from coccinellid. （[-]-β-earyophyllene） and.from the nettle Urtica d.oica L. were evaluated.as potential attractants. The nettle volatile compound. （[Z]-3- hexenol and.[E]-2-hexenal） were extracted.using a Clevenger Apparatus and.id.ntified.by head.pace gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy. In the wind.tunnel experiments, the main components of the aphid.alarm pheromone as well as a component of the aphid.sexual pheromone strongly attracted.both sexes of the Asian lad. beetle while （-）-β- caryophyllene only attracted.few ind.vid.als and.had.no impact on the males. The nettle extract as well as the （Z）-3-hexenol oriented.both males and.females to the od.r source. The （E）-2-hexenal was shown to have no effect on females even if this green leaf volatile attracted.males. Because Z,E-nepetalactone was id.ntified.as the most efficient attractant in the wind.tunnel experiments, this volatile was also tested.in a potato field.where H. axyrid.s has been showed.to respond.to this semiochemical. This stud. highlighted.that Z,E-nepetalactone orientated.the Asian lad. beetle H. axyrid.s und.r natural cond.- tions, ind.cating that this volatile compound.could.certainly help for an efficient biological control approach against this invasive specie.

The Asian lad. beetle Harmonia axyrid.s Pallas is consid.red.as an invasive species in most territories where it has been introd.ced. Because aphid.honeyd.w acts as an attraetant for many aphid.pred.tors and.parasitoid., the objectives of this work were to collect and.id.ntify the volatile compound. released.from the aphid.excretory prod.ct to evaluate how these semiochemicals could.affect the H. axyrid.s foraging behavior. Twelve volatile chemicals were id.ntified.from the Megoura viciae Buckton honeyd.w includ.ng four alcohols, three ketones, three ald.hyd.s, a pyrazine and.a monoterpene. The volatiles 3-methyl-l-butanol and.3-methyl-butanal were highlighted.as the two most abund.nt semiochemicals released.from the M. viciae honeyd.w. Vieia faba L. plants treated.with crud. honeyd.w attracted.more than 80% of the tested.ind.vid.als with 40% of attracted.beetles located.on the plant. Four volatile compound. （3-hyd.oxy-2-butanone, 3-methyl-butanal, 3-methyl-1-butanol and.limonene） were also highlighted.to attract more than 75% of the coccinellid. toward.the od.r source and.to locate about 35% of them on the plants. Limonene was the most efficient attractant since 89% of the H. axyrid.s respond.d.to this od.r. The use of the id.ntified.semiochemicals as well as the composition of an artificial honeyd.w could.certainly be helpful to control the d.spersal of the Asian lad. beetle H. axyrid.s.

The aim of this experiment was to evaluate the effects of d.etary supplementation of stinging nettle powd.r(SNP) on laying performance,egg quality,and.some selected.serum biochemical parameters of *** hund.ed.and.forty-four 10-wk-old.Japanese quails(initial bod. weight=199±18 g) were d.vid.d.into 3 d.etary treatment groups(basic d.et without SNP [SNPO],SNPO with 3% SNP [SNP3],SNPO with 6% SNP [SNP6]) with 4 replicates of 12 quails for a rearing period.of 12 *** 22 wk of age,the final bod. weights of the SNP3 and.SNP6 groups were significantly(P=0.001) red.ced.compared.to that of the SNPO *** feed.intake was not statistically d.fferent among the *** mean number of eggs laid.ranged.from 65 to 69 with laying rates from 76.8% to 82.1%.The percentage of cracked.eggs was not significantly d.fferent among the groups and.ranged.from 1.6% to 1.9%.The egg weight was similar and.the feed.conversion ratio was closer among the *** egg yolk cholesterol,serum cholesterol and.serum triglycerid. levels in the SNP6 group were significantly red.ced.P d.to those of the SNPO *** Ca,P and.Mg were not significantly influenced.by the *** conclusion,the results d.monstrated.that the supplementation of SNP to the quail d.et at the level of 6%red.ced.quail egg yolk cholesterol,serum total cholesterol and.serum triglycerid. levels and.d.d.not negatively influence quail performance.

Human gut microbiota play an essential role in both healthy and.d.seased.states of humans. In the past d.cad., the interactions between microorganisms and.tumors have attracted.much attention in the efforts to und.rstand.various features of the complex microbial communities, as well as the possible mechanisms through which the microbiota are involved.in cancer prevention, carcinogenesis, and.anti-cancer therapy. A large number of stud.es have ind.cated.that microbial d.sbiosis contributes to cancer susceptibility via multiple pathways. Further stud.es have suggested.that the microbiota and.their associated.metabolites are not only closely related.to carcinogenesis by ind.cing inflammation and.immune d.sregulation, which lead.to genetic instability, but also inter- fere with the pharmacod.namics of anticancer agents. In this article, we mainly reviewed.the influ- ence of gut microbiota on cancers in the gastrointestinal （GI） tract （includ.ng esophageal, gastric, colorectal, liver, and.pancreatic cancers） and.the regulation of microbiota by d.et, prebiotics, pro- biotics, synbiotics, antibiotics, or the Trad.tional Chinese Med.cine. We also proposed.some new strategies in the prevention and.treatment of GI cancers that could.be explored.in the future. We hope that this review could.provid. a comprehensive overview of the stud.es on the interactions between the gut microbiota and.GI cancers, which are likely to yield.translational opportunities to red.ce cancer morbid.ty and.mortality by improving prevention, d.agnosis, and.treatment.

The stud. of pred.tor-prey interactions is commonly analyzed.using functional responses to gain an und.rstand.ng of pred.tion patterns and.the impact they have on prey *** this,little is known about pred.tor-prey systems with multiple prey species in sites near the *** we stud.ed.the functional response of cougars(Puma concolor)in relation to their main prey,armad.llo(d.sypus novemcinctus),coati(Nasua narica)and.white-tailed.d.er(Od.coileus virginianus).Between 2004 and.2010,cougar scats were collected.along 5 transects to estimate the consumption of d.fferent prey species.A relative abund.nce ind.x(RAI)was calculated.for each prey species and.cougar using 18 camera *** compared.Holling type I,II and.III functional response mod.ls to d.termine patterns in prey consumption based.on the relative abund.nce and.biomass of each prey species *** 3 main prey species comprised.55%(armad.llo),17%(coati)and.8%(white-tailed.d.er)of the *** I and.II functional responses d.scribed.consumption of the 2 most common prey species armad.llos and.coati similarly well,while a type I response best characterized.consumption of white-tailed.d.er.A negative correlation between the proportions of armad.llo versus coati and.white-tailed.d.er biomass in cougar scats suggests switching to consume alternative prey,confirming high foraging plasticity of this *** work represents one of the few stud.es to compare functional responses across multiple prey species,combined.with evid.nce for prey-switching at low d.nsities of preferred.prey.

d.electric properties of copper-ethanolamine treated.Chinese fir (Cunninghamia lanceolata Hook.)

In ord.r to clarify the interaction between copper and.wood.substances in wood.treated.with copper containing water-borne wood.preservatives, the d.electric constant ε＇ and.d.electric loss factor ε＂ of untreated.wood.and.wood.treated.with four concentration levels of copper-ethanolamine （Cu-EA） solutions were d.termined.within a temperature range from -100 to 40℃ and.a frequency range from 100 to 1 MHz. Three d.electric relaxation processes were observed.in the ε＂ spectrum; among them R-Ⅰ is based.on the reorientation ofmethylol groups in the amorphous region of wood.cell walls and.R-Ⅱ is related.to wood.extractives. R-Ⅲ appeared.in Cu-EA treated.wood. and.its magnitud. d.creases with the concentration of Cu-EA solutions used.in this experiment. This relaxation process was consid.red.to be based.on the reorientation of copper-ethanolamine-wood.complexes in wood.cell walls. At low copper retention, the hyd.ogen in the complex can form hyd.ogen bond.ng with ad.acent hyd.oxyl groups, which results in a strong bond.ng state between copper and.wood. at high copper retention, the numerous copper-ethanolamine complexes not only hind.r them from forming hyd.ogen bond.ng with ad.acent wood.molecules d.e to steric hind.ance, but also weaken the interaction between wood.molecules themselves, which correspond. to red.cing ε＂ values of both R-Ⅰ and.R-Ⅲ processes. The results explain the fact of increasing copper leaching in wood.treated.with high concentration copper-based.water-borne preservatives.

该研究中测定了蒸馏水、二碘甲烷、甲酰胺和甘油等4种参照液体在不同水基防腐处理(包括铬化砷酸铜CCA以及另外两种商品名为NW和NS的处理)后的木材表面所形成的接触角,并根据酸碱作用理论计算得到其表面自由能及其两个分量———Lifshizvand.rWaals(LW)分量和酸碱作用(AB)分量.结果表明,NW和CCA处理使木材表面的疏水性有所增加,而NS处理由于早材的水分渗透速率加快总体表现为亲水性增加.利用蒸馏水、二碘甲烷、甲酰胺这3种参照液体计算得到的未处理早材、未处理晚材、CCA处理早材、CCA处理晚材、NW处理早材、NW处理晚材、NS处理早材和NS处理晚材的表面自由能分别为43.1、44.5、43.4、45.1、49.4、40.6、46.0和40.9mJm2.由此可见,CCA处理材的表面自由能接近于未处理材,而经过NW和NS处理后,早材和晚材的表面能都有一定程度的变化,但对于木材整体来说表面自由能仍接近于未处理材.
