＜正＞ There exists a great need for the development of high performance alloys due to increasing demands for energy conservation and environmental protection. Application of strip casting shows a strong potential for the improvement of properties of existing alloys and also for the development of novel alloy systems with superior properties. The present paper reviews our Center’s activities in the development of high performance alloys by strip casting. Examples include （1） Al alloys, （2） wrought Mg alloys, and （3） bulk metallic glass （BMG） alloys.

Lithium-sulfur batteries(LsBs)have drawn significant attention owing to their high theoretical discharge capacity and energy ***,the dissolution of long-chain polysulfides into the electrolyte during the charge and discharge process(“shuttle effect”)results in fast capacity fading and inferior electrochemical *** this study,Mn_(2)O_(3)with an ordered mesoporous structure(OM-Mn_(2)O_(3))was designed as a cathode host for LsBs via KIT-6 hard templating,to effectively inhibit the polysulfide shuttle ***-Mn_(2)O_(3)offers numerous pores to confine sulfur and tightly anchor the dissolved polysulfides through the combined effects of strong polar-polar interactions,polysulfides,and sulfur chain *** OM-Mn_(2)O_(3)/s composite electrode delivered a discharge capacity of 561 mAh g-1 after 250 cycles at 0.5 C owing to the excellent performance of OM-Mn_(2)O_(3).Furthermore,it retained a discharge capacity of 628mA h g-1 even at a rate of 2 C,which was significantly higher than that of a pristine sulfur electrode(206mA h g-1).These findings provide a prospective strategy for designing cathode materials for high-performance LsBs.

使用膳食补充剂对轻度认知障碍(MCI)患者进行早期干预,可有效地缓解患者认知能力损伤。这项研究探讨了植物乳杆菌C29(Lactobacillus plantarum C29)发酵大豆(DW2009)能否作为提高MCI患者认知能力的营养补充刻及其安全性。一百个MCI患者随机分为实验组(口服DW2009大豆,800毫克/天,n=50)和对照组(口服安慰剂,800毫克/天,n=50),实验持续12周。实验主要指标是通过计算机神经认知功能测试,检测两组患者记忆力和注意力相关的认知功能的综合评分的变化,并评估两组血清脑源性神经营养因子(BDNF)水平变化与其认.知能力改变的关联性。结果显示,与对照组相比,实验组综合认知功能评分显著提高((z=2.36,p for interaction=0.02),尤其是有关注意力方面(z=2.34,p for interaction=0.02)。还观察到实验组口服DW2009大豆后认知能力改善与血清BDNF水平升高有关(t=2.83,p=0.007)。该临床实验的结果表明,DW2009大豆可以安全有效地增强MCI患者的认知能力,口服DW2009大豆后,血清BDNF水平升高可能是认知能力改善的潜在机制,这也表明肠脑轴在改善MCI患者认知缺陷中的重要性。

Zinc-air batteries(ZABs)are gaining attention as an ideal option for various applications requiring high-capacity batteries,such as portable electronics,electric vehicles,and renewable energy *** offer advantages such as low environmental impact,enhanced safety compared to Li-ion batteries,and cost-effectiveness due to the abundance of ***,early research faced challenges due to parasitic reactions at the zinc anode and slow oxygen redox *** advancements in restructuring the anode,utilizing alternative electrolytes,and developing bifunctional oxygen catalysts have significantly improved *** have achieved battery reversibility over thousands of cycles,introduced new electrolytes,and achieved energy efficiency records surpassing 70%.Despite these achievements,there are challenges related to lower power density,shorter lifespan,and air electrode corrosion leading to performance *** review paper discusses different battery configurations,and reaction mechanisms for electrically and mechanically rechargeable ZABs,and proposes remedies to enhance overall battery *** paper also explores recent advancements,applications,and the future prospects of electrically/mechanically rechargeable ZABs.

本文利用2003年8月到2004年3月在内蒙古浑善达克沙地地区沙尘暴观测站获取的探测资料,分析了浑善达克沙地地区近地面气象要素的变化特征及其廓线规律,讨论了沙尘暴过境时气象要素和湍流能量平衡的演变规律。结果表明:（1）沙尘暴的发生... 详细信息

本文利用2003年8月到2004年3月在内蒙古浑善达克沙地地区沙尘暴观测站获取的探测资料,分析了浑善达克沙地地区近地面气象要素的变化特征及其廓线规律,讨论了沙尘暴过境时气象要素和湍流能量平衡的演变规律。结果表明:（1）沙尘暴的发生与大风的变化趋势具有较好地一致性,沙尘浓度的高值出现在11月和3月,与风速的高值出现的时间相同;温度月变化振幅明显。（2）由于地表状况的自然改变,2003年8月到2004年3月地表粗糙度的数值呈现相应的变化,数值从夏秋季的0.0226m到冬春季的0.0071m。（3）由于2m和4m高度的风速值存在较大的梯度,不满足近地层风速廓线对数律。（4）与TIPEX实验的观测结果类似,浑善达克沙地地区在近地层存在逆湿现象,逆湿强度与季节有关。（5）沙尘暴爆发过程前后,风向风速均有不同程度的调整,风向调整伴随着风速的降低。沙尘暴爆发前,大气呈干热状态,地面天气系统处在低压控制之下;沙尘暴爆发后,太阳辐射、净辐射和反射辐射均有不同程度的降低,感热通量随之降低,对地表能量平衡产生影响。

In Korea, most resources for biodiesel production were imported from abroad. To find out domestic resources, the feasibility of biodiesel production from acid oil as a by-product of the refining of vegetable oils and from waste lard as a by-product of the leather making process with high content of free fatty acids（FFAs） was investigated. A process consisting of the esterification of FFAs by an acid catalyst followed by the transesterification of triglycerides by an alkali catalyst was examined. After a simple distillation process of biodiesel, the oxidation stability of acid oil biodiesel and waste lard biodiesel was 1.59 h and 1.83 h, respectively. The cold filter plugging point（CFPP） was-13. and 8., respectively. The oxidation stability of biodiesel was easily improved by antioxidants. However, the CFPP was not improved by additives. When waste lard biodiesel was blended with rapeseed oil biodiesel, the low temperature flow property of waste lard biodiesel was improved.

BACKGROUND studies on varicose veins have focused its effects on physical function;however,whether nonsurgical treatments alter muscle oxygenation or physical function remains ***,the differences in such functions between individuals with varicose veins and healthy individuals remain *** To investigate changes in physical function and the quality of life(QOL)following nonsurgical treatment of patients with varicose veins and determine the changes in their muscle oxygenation during *** We enrolled 37 participants(those with varicose veins,n=17;healthy individuals,n=20).We performed the following measurements pre-and post-nonsurgical treatment in the varicose vein patients and healthy individuals:Calf muscle oxygenation during the two-minute step test,open eyes one-leg stance,30 s sit-to-stand test,visual analog scale(VAs)for pain,Pittsburgh sleep quality index,physical activity assessment,and QOL *** Varicose veins patients and healthy individuals differ in most variables(physical function,sleep quality,and QOL).Varicose veins patients showed significant differences between pre-and post-nonsurgical treatment—results in the 30 sit-to-stand test[14.41(2.45)to 16.35(4.11),P=0.018],two-minute step test[162.29(25.98)to 170.65(23.80),P=0.037],VAs for pain[5.35(1.90)to 3.88(1.73),P=0.004],and QOL[39.34(19.98)to 26.69(17.02),P=0.005];however,no significant difference was observed for muscle *** Nonsurgical treatment improved lower extremity function and QOL in varicose veins patients,bringing their condition close to that of healthy *** studies should include patients with severe varicose veins requiring surgery to confirm our findings.

Eutrophication in water systems can be evaluated via the estimate of chlorophyll-a which exists in the cell of phytoplankton in water systems *** prediction of chlorophyll-a based on environmental thctors can be used efficiently to manage water quality. Recently adaptive learning algorithms such as artificial neural networks have been implemented for the prediction of chlorophyll-a in reselwoirs. The advantage of artificial neural networks has been shown to be a cost-effective ***,their training has problems such as slow convergence and easy entrapment in a local *** this study,we present the application of a Particle swarm Optimization (PsO)model to predict changes of chlorophyll-a in agricultural reservoirs in Korean national *** were obtained from water quality monitoring networks of reservoirs opcrated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Ministry of Environment of Korea. Chlorophyll-a and environmental factors(DO,BOD,COD,ss,TN,TP, etc.)were measured at 440 reservoirs distributed in Korean national *** perceptron(MLP)was trained with PsO(MLP-PsO). Chlorophyll-a was well predicted by both standard MLP and MLP-PsO. We compared the performance of standard MLP and MLP-PsO for the prediction of chlorophyll-a with environment ***, MLP-PsO showed better result in training speed and prediction accuracy than standard MLP.
