In general, it is important to operate the; airgap length uniformly for improving the system efficiency independent of the flatness of the reaction plate in a railway propulsion system by a linear induction motor （LIM）. And it is possible to operate the LIM propulsion system efficiently without a change of the LIM capacity through the airgap length control on the sloped rail. so, in this research, the authors introduce an airgap control system to control the airgap length which depends on the flatness of the secondary reaction plate when the LIM is operated, and design a rotary small-scaled LIM and its airgap control system before manufacturing the real system. Then, the authors analyze some characteristics of the LIM （thrust and normal force, input current, efficiency and power factor）, and through the LIM control modeling, the authors finally analyze an effect of the airgap-length control of the LIM by the airgap control system.

＜正＞ There exists a great need for the development of high performance alloys due to increasing demands for energy conservation and environmental protection. Application of strip casting shows a strong potential for the improvement of properties of existing alloys and also for the development of novel alloy systems with superior properties. The present paper reviews our Center’s activities in the development of high performance alloys by strip casting. Examples include （1） Al alloys, （2） wrought Mg alloys, and （3） bulk metallic glass （BMG） alloys.

Although the internal stress state of soils can be affected by repetitive loading,there are few studies evaluating the lateral stress(or K_(0))of soils under repetitive *** study investigates the changes in K_(0) and directional shear wave velocity(V_(s))in samples of two granular materials with different particle shapes during repetitive loading.A modified oedometer cell equipped with bender elements and a diaphragm transducer was developed to measure the variations in the lateral stress and the shear wave velocity,under repetitive loading on the loading and unloading *** study produced the following results:(1)Repetitive loading on the loading path resulted in an increase in the K_(0) of test samples as a function of cyclic loading number(i),and(2)Repetitive loading on the unloading path resulted in a decrease in K_(0) according to *** shear wave velocity ratio(i.e.V_(s)(HH)/V_(s)(VH),where the first and second letters in parentheses corresponds to the directions of wave propagation and particle motion,respectively,and V and H corresponds to the vertical and horizontal directions,respectively)according to i supports the experimental observations of this ***,when the tested material was in lightly over-consolidated state,there was an increase in K_(0) during repetitive loading,indicating that it was the initial K_(0),rather than the loading path,which is responsible for the change in K_(0).The power model can capture the variation in the K_(0) of samples according to ***,the K_(0)=1 line acts as the boundary between the increase and decrease in K_(0) under repetitive loading.

specific grades of high-entropy alloys(HEAs)can provide opportunities for optimizing properties toward high-temperature *** this work,the Co-based HEA with a chemical composition of Co_(47.5)Cr_(30)Fe_(7.5)Mn_(7.5)Ni_(7.5)(at%)was *** refractory metallic elements hafnium(Hf)and molybdenum(Mo)were added in small amounts(1.5at%)because of their well-known positive effects on high-temperature *** characteristics were comprehensively explored by using a two-dimensional cross-sectional method and extracted by using a three-dimensional electrolytic extraction *** results revealed that the addition of Hf can reduce Al_(2)O_(3)inclusions and lead to the formation of more stable Hf-rich inclusions as the main *** addition cannot influence the inclusion type but could influence the inclusion characteristics by affecting the physical parameters of the HEA *** calculated coagulation coefficient and collision rate of Al_(2)O_(3)inclusions were higher than those of HfO_(2)inclusions,but the inclusion amount played a larger role in the agglomeration behavior of HfO_(2)and Al_(2)O_(3)*** impurity level and active elements in HEAs were the crucial factors affecting inclusion formation.

Librealism's Boundaries in Addressing the Climate Crisis:Insights from Domenico Losurdo and Posthumanism

In Korea, most resources for biodiesel production were imported from abroad. To find out domestic resources, the feasibility of biodiesel production from acid oil as a by-product of the refining of vegetable oils and from waste lard as a by-product of the leather making process with high content of free fatty acids（FFAs） was investigated. A process consisting of the esterification of FFAs by an acid catalyst followed by the transesterification of triglycerides by an alkali catalyst was examined. After a simple distillation process of biodiesel, the oxidation stability of acid oil biodiesel and waste lard biodiesel was 1.59 h and 1.83 h, respectively. The cold filter plugging point（CFPP） was-13. and 8., respectively. The oxidation stability of biodiesel was easily improved by antioxidants. However, the CFPP was not improved by additives. When waste lard biodiesel was blended with rapeseed oil biodiesel, the low temperature flow property of waste lard biodiesel was improved.

This study critically y examines the limitations of liberalism in effectively addressing the climate crisis,informed by Domenico Losurdo's critique and the lens of *** illuminates the core liberal focus on individual rights and autonomy,which stands in stark contrast with the collective,interconnected nature of global environmental *** a detailed engagement with Losurdo's analytical framework and posthumanist philosophy,the paper argues for a fundamental shift within liberal *** involves the incorporation of a robust environmental ethic and a commitment to global justice to reconcile the intrinsic values of liberalism with the urgent demands of environmental sustainability and collective *** proposed reconfigured liberal philosophy seeks to combine its traditional strengths with a renewed focus on collective well-being,offering a more comprehensive and effective strategy for confronting the existential threat of the climate *** study argues that such a reimagined liberal approach not only enhances its relevance in the face of global environmental challenges but also serves as a viable pathway toward promoting a more just and sustainable future.

Batteries that utilize low-cost elemental sulfur and light metallic lithium as electrodes have great potential in achieving high energy ***,building a lithium-sulfur(Li-s)full battery by controlling the electrolyte volume generally produces low practical energy because of the limited electrochemical Li-s ***,the high energy/high performance of a Li-s full battery with practical sulfur loading and minimum electrolyte volume is reported.A unique hybrid architecture configured with Ni-Co metal alloy(NiCo)and metal oxide(NiCoO_(2))nanoparticles heterogeneously anchored in carbon nanotube-embedded selfstanding carbon matrix is fabricated as a host for *** work demonstrates the considerable improvement that the hybrid structure's high conductivity and satisfactory porosity promote the transport of electrons and lithium ions in Li-s *** experimental and theoretical validations,the function of NiCo and NiCoO_(2) nanoparticles as an efficient polysulfide mediator is *** particles afford polysulfide anchoring and catalytic sites for Li-s redox reaction,thus improving the redox conversion *** at high sulfur loading,the nanostructured Ni-Co metal alloy and metal oxide enable to have stable cycling performance under lean electrolyte conditions both in half-cell and full-cell batteries using a graphite anode.
