当谈及非洲电影,人们往往将目光投向于发展得更加成熟的西非和南非电影,却很少有人关注在非洲电影史上扮演着重要角色的索马里电影。自索马里独立以来,索马里电影主要为后殖民理论、泛非主义所驱动,生产观照索马里独特文化以及整个非洲大陆社会、政治、经济等重要议题的享誉世界的电影文本。不久后,索马里发生的政变与混乱导致索马里导演和电影家离散在世界各地,索马里的电影产业不绝如缕。从此,主流媒体当中围绕战争、饥荒等负面议题的索马里形象让分散在全世界的索马里民众疑惑不解。21世纪初,美国俄亥俄州哥伦布市诞生的"索马里坞"—Somaliwood,则平衡了西方电影对索马里流行文化的西式叙述,以新时代电影制作和销售方法试图挽回舆论。如今,产地分散在内罗毕、开普敦、伦敦和哥伦布等世界各大城市的索马里电影,继续剖析历史创伤话题、展开对文化错位的思考,当然,还有对国家民族瓦解后民族矛盾身份认同的深思。本文旨在剖析索马里电影文本,了解索马里电影从其殖民根源到当前离散状态的发展历史。

The Epidemiology of Induction of Labor among Women Aged 15 - 49 Who Delivered at Shaafi Hospital in Hodon District, Mogadishu Somalia 2020

Background: Induction of labor is an artificial termination utilized to decrease both maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. The study was aimed to assess the epidemiology of induction of labor among women aged 15 - 49 who delivered at Shaafi Hospital in Hodon District, Mogadishu Somalia 2020. Methodology: A cross-sectional and retrospective hospital-based study was conducted among 30 women aged 15 - 49 who had undergone induction of labor who were delivered at Shaafi Hospital Mogadishu during the period of the study from May-July 2020. Data were collected by interview method using structured questionnaire. Data analyzed was performed using Statistical Package for Social Science version 20. Results: The study showed that the majority of respondents 12 (40%) had undergone induction once time previously, followed by 8 (27%) had undergone induction previously two times, while 6 (20%) had undergone previously three times, 4 (13%) more than four times. 21 (70%) were delivered Spontaneous Vagina delivery (SVD), 6 (20%) were Cesarean section (CS) and 3 (10%) instrumental vaginal delivery. A total of (60%) were delivered in public hospitals, followed by (23%) were delivered in private hospitals and 5 (17%) home delivery. In addition the reasons of induction of labor a total of 27 (90%) were post term, followed by 2 (7%) were Intrauterine fetal death (IUFD), while few proportion of 1 (3%) were Pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH). Finally, the study revealed that the socio-demographic and obstetrical determinants such as age and daily meal intake as well as antenatal care visit and reasons for induction of labor e.g. Post term (Post-mature), Intrauterine fetal death (IUFD) and Pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH) showed significant association with their the induced labor (P Conclusion and Recommendations: The study recommended that ministry of health especially maternal and reproductive health unit should ensure that every pregnant woman has access to skilled matern

Effect of Cadmium and Zinc on Growing Barley

The accumulation of metals, in particular of metals known as heavy in the plants poses problem. However, so with the state of traces, these metals are essential to the life, they can with stronger concentrations appear toxic. So to limit the risks, we have to study the effects of these pollutants on the living organisms. Among the techniques of phytorehabilitation, we find the phytoextraction. So, we are interested in the phytoextraction in the barley (Hordium vulgare) of a soil contaminated artificially by zinc and cadmium and the influence of these metals presence on the barley growth. The results show that the barley is tolerant in the zinc and the cadmium;it presents no sign of stress after 4 weeks of culture in soil contaminated by these metals. The accumulated zinc arrests at the level of roots and it is not transferred towards the air parts. On the other hand, the barley accumulates more cadmium compared to zinc.

The integration of gallium nitride(GaN)nanowire light-emitting diodes(nanoLEDs)on flexible substrates offers opportunities for applications beyond rigid solid-state lighting(e.g.,for wearable optoelectronics and bendable inorganic displays).Here,we report on a fast physical transfer route based on femtosecond laser lift-off(fs-LLO)to realize wafer-scale top–down GaN nanoLED arrays on unconventional *** with photolithography and hybrid etching processes,we successfully transferred GaN blue nanoLEDs from a full two-inch sapphire substrate onto a flexible copper(Cu)foil with a high nanowire density(~107 wires/cm2),transfer yield(~99.5%),and *** nanoanalytical measurements were conducted to evaluate the performance and limitations of the fs-LLO technique as well as to gain insights into physical material properties such as strain relaxation and assess the maturity of the transfer *** work could enable the easy recycling of native growth substrates and inspire the development of large-scale hybrid GaN nanowire optoelectronic devices by solely employing standard epitaxial LED wafers(i.e.,customized LED wafers with additional embedded sacrificial materials and a complicated growth process are not required).

Chronic hepatitis B, as a global health problem, is a disease that begins in the prenatal period and its complications gradually become clear later in life. About 5% of women worldwide are carriers of chronic hepatitis B virus(HBV). The most common method of transmission of HBV around the world is from mother to infant. This article aims to review the unique challenges of hepatitis B in pregnancy. Data for this review were collected from our previous studiesand experiences plus various data banks, such as Pub Med, EMBASE, ISI Web of science, Scopus, Google Scholar and Iranian databases. A comprehensive search was performed using the combinations of the keywords to review relevant literature and higher education journals. All published data up to February 2014 have been included in this review. This article addresses several interesting aspects. First, hepatitis B in pregnancy can vary regarding prevalence, virus behavior, prenatal transmission and outcome of the pregnancy. Second, the women of reproductive age with chronic HBV remain a major source for continued spread of the virus. Finally, pregnant women need screening in prenatal care to enable early intervention when necessary.

Surfen and oxalyl surfen decrease tau hyperphosphorylation and mitigate neuron deficits in vivo in a zebrafish model of tauopathy

Background:Tauopathies comprise a family of neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer’s disease for which there is an urgent and unmet need for disease-modifying *** are characterized by pathological tau hyperphosphorylation,which has been shown to correlate tightly with disease progression and memory loss in patients suffering from Alzheimer’s *** recently demonstrated an essential requirement for 3-O-sulfated heparan sulfate in pathological tau hyperphosphorylation in zebrafish,a prominent model organism for human drug ***,we investigated whether in vivo treatment with surfen or its derivatives oxalyl surfen and hemisurfen,small molecules with heparan sulfate antagonist properties,could mitigate tau hyperphosphorylation and neuronal deficits in a zebrafish model of ***:In vivo treatment of Tg[HuC::hTau^(P301L);DsRed]embryos for 2 days with surfen or oxalyl surfen significantly reduced the accumulation of the pThr181 tau phospho-epitope measured by ELISA by 30%and 51%,*** blot analysis also showed a significant decrease of pThr181 and pSer396/pSer404 in embryos treated with surfen or oxalyl *** analysis further confirmed that treatment with surfen or oxalyl surfen significantly decreased the AT8 tau epitope in spinal *** addition,in vivo treatment of Tg[HuC::hTau^(P301L);DsRed]embryos with surfen or oxalyl surfen significantly rescued spinal motoneuron axon-branching defects and,as a likely consequence,the impaired stereotypical touch-evoked escape ***,treatment with hemisurfen,a surfen derivative devoid of heparan sulfate antagonist activity,does not affect tau hyperphosphorylation,nor neuronal or behavioural deficits in Tg[HuC::hTau^(P301L);DsRed]***:Our findings demonstrate for the first time that surfen,a well-tolerated molecule in clinical settings,and its derivative,oxalyl surfen,could mitigate or delay neuronal defects

After the developments of modern medicine, leeches were not used as before, but in the late nineteenth century, leeches were still being used in many countries around the world. Until now, leeches have been used to treat a wide range of diseases. The present study, is a scoping review of the evidence of the indication of leech therapy. The results of this study are based on English articles and dissertations published in databases from 2000 up to July 10, 2017. The results showed that leech therapy could be used in different conditions including venous congestion in plastic and reconstructive surgery, osteoarthritis, cardiovascular diseases due to blood coagulation disorders, migraine headache, skin disorders, diabetic foot ulcers, macroglossia, priapism, cancer complications, and wounds. More researches are needed in wider areas with more precise methodologies to ensure the potential therapeutic effects of leech therapy.

Evaluation of wear and corrosion resistance of pure Mg wire produced by friction stir extrusion

A solid-state process--friction stir extrusion （FSE） was applied to produce wires from Mg chips. The FSE process was performed using tool rotational speed of 150, 250 and 355 r/min at a constant plunge rate of 20 mm/min. The microstructural evolution, tribological behavior and corrosion resistance of the reference specimen and the friction stir extruded specimens were investigated. Microstructural characteristics of the specimens were investigated by optical microscopy （OM） and scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. The evaluations of mechanical properties include microhardness and dry sliding wear test. The corrosion resistance of the extruded specimens was characterized by potentiodynamic polarization test. The results show that the extruded specimens possess good surface quality and the process is beneficial for the improvement of hardness and wear resistance of the first machined chips. The produced wires are also found to have adequate corrosion resistance. These results demonstrate that FSE is an effective strategy for converting the machined Mg chips into the usable wires.

Vertical Transmission of Coronavirus in Obstetrics: A Myth or Truth?

In obstetrics, the maternal immune system plays a critical role in the establishment and maintenance of a healthy pregnancy. The immune response of the placenta plays important role in determining a maternal vulnerability toward infectious diseases. The various adverse outcome, ranging from preterm birth, injury to the fetal brain cortex and fetal death are all documented in infected neonates. In obstetrics, viral infections can be either transmitted through the in-utero, intrapartum, and postpartum periods. Nevertheless, with the recent pandemic of coronavirus and some documented cases of a positively infected neonate, it is becoming more apparent that the mode of transmission of coronavirus during pregnancy needs to be better understood. This review focuses on revealing the possible modes of transmission of the coronavirus in obstetrics.
