Background:Alterations in the expression of human kallikrein-related peptidases(KLKs)have been described in patients with Alzheimer’s disease(AD).We elucidated the suitability of KLK6,KLK8 and KLK10 to distinguish AD from NC and explored associations with established AD ***:KLK levels in cerebrospinal fluid(CSF),as determined by ELISA,were compared between 32 AD patients stratified to A/T/(N)system with evidence for amyloid pathology and of 23 normal controls with normal AD *** between KLK levels and clinical severity,CSF and positron emission tomography(PET)based AD biomarkers were tested ***:Levels of KLK6 and KLK10 were significantly increased in ***6 differed significantly between AD A+/T+/N+and AD A+/T−/N+or NC with an AUC of *** pTau and tTau levels were significantly associated with KLK6 in ***:KLK6 deserves further investigations as a potential biomarker of Tau pathology in AD.

Upper extremity disorders in heavy industry workers in Greece

AIM To investigate the disability due to musculoskeletal disorders of the upper extremities in heavy industry *** The population under study consisted of 802 employees, both white-and blue-collar, working in a shipyard industry in Athens, Greece. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires and the recording of individual and job-related characteristics during the period 2006-2009. The questionnaires used were the Quick Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand(QD) Outcome Measure, the Work Ability Index(WAI) and the ShortForm-36(SF-36) Health Survey. The QD was divided into three parameters-movement restrictions in everyday activities, work and sports/music activities-and the SF-36 into two items, physical and emotional. Multiple linear regression analysis was performed by means of the SPSS v.22 for Windows Statistical *** The answers given by the participants for the QD did not reveal great discomfort regarding the execution of manual tasks, with the majority of the participants scoring under 5%, meaning no disability. After conducting multiple linear regression, age revealed a positive association with the parameter of restrictions in everyday activities(b = 0.64, P = 0.000). Basic education showed a statistically significant association regarding restrictions during leisure activities, with b = 2.140(P = 0.029) for compulsory education graduates. WAI's final score displayed negative charging in the regression analysis of all three parameters, with b =-0.142(P = 0.0), b =-0.099(P = 0.055) and b =-0.376(P = 0.001) respectively, while the physical and emotional components of SF-36 associated with movement restrictions only in daily activities and work. Management of biliary atresia:To transplant or not to transplant

Kasai procedure(KP)and liver transplantation(LT)represent the only therapeutic options for patients with biliary atresia(BA),the most common indication for LT in the pediatric ***,KP represents by no means a radical option but rather a bridging one,as nearly all patients will finally require a liver *** and more experts in the field of transplant surgery propose that maybe it is time for a paradigm change in BA treatment and abandon KP as transplantation seems *** of organs yet makes this option currently not feasible,so it seems useful to find ways to maximize the efficacy of *** previous decades,multiple studies tried to identify these factors which opt for better results,but in general,outcomes of KP have not improved to the level that was *** review provides the framework of conditions which favor native liver survival after KP and the ones which optimize a positive LT *** of transition of care at the right time are also presented,as transplantation plays a key role in the surgical treatment of *** studies and further organization in the transplant field will allow for greater organ availability and better outcomes to be achieved for BA patients.

Scrap Activities on the Coastal Zone： Dynamic Model for the Recycling of Ships

This paper describes the main activities of the ship recycling facilities that have moved to the Asia continent and puts emphasis on environmental and working conditions under the umbrella of the new IMO （International Maritime Organization） convention. However, the convention is not enforced yet and the legal gaps found on limited existing regulations do not impose strict rules on the shipping industry and at the same time offer motives for the safe recycling of ships. Ship-owners seem reluctant to send their vessels for scrap but rather prefer to employ them till the last minute, preferably in areas where the environmentally-friendly concept is not of primary importance. The dynamics of this specialized industry can be better shown by examining variables such as legal instruments, occupational health and safety hazards, geographical allocation of scrapping sites, scrap prices, safety working plans and volume to be scrapped. The next step is to build a simulation model in order to discuss the relevant scenarios. The first scenario is based on the current conditions where the ship-owner＇s decision is mainly affected by the fluctuations of the market and whether the effectiveness of existing regulations can improve the working environment in terms of health and safety. The second scenario refers to the situation when the IMO Convention is implemented, then it will produce two major recycling markets, the first one for the convention ships and the second for non-convention ships.

Os calcis lipoma: To graft or not to graft?——A case report and literature review

BACKGROUND Intraosseous lipoma is a rare benign lesion, commonly affecting the os calcis. Its pathogenesis and natural history are not fully understood, and its management remains *** SUMMARY A 56-year-old male complaining of heel pain was diagnosed with an os calcis lipoma. The lesion was treated with curettage and it was filled with impacted allograft and demineralized bone matrix. Histological examination confirmed the above diagnosis. Six months postoperatively, the patient returned to recreational long-distance running. Repeated computed tomography scanning, up to five years postoperatively, showed almost complete resorption of the graft over *** The treatment of an os calcis lipoma should be individualized, depending on the symptoms, the location and size of the lesion. Surgeons, electing to proceed with bone grafting, should consider the probability of bone graft resorption.

The HNS Convention(International Convention on Liability and Compensation for Damage in Connection with the Carriage of Hazardous and Noxious Substances by Sea,2010)covers any damage caused by the carriage by sea of hazardous and noxious substances in the territory or territorial sea of a State Party to the *** costs of preventive actions,*** to avoid or minimize damage,are also covered wherever *** HNS Convention includes preventive measures as any reasonable measures taken by any person after an incident has occurred to prevent or minimize damage,*** such as clean-up or removal of HNS from a wreck if the HNS presents a hazard or pollution *** seems that after the CLC(Civil Liability Convention),much environmental legislation has lost the concept of pro-activeness/prevention of an environmental hazard and is more focused on compensation and *** approach is not consistent with the purpose of environmental legislation and the examination of the basic principles of the HNS Convention in parallel with distinctive environmental hazards proves this theory of reactive *** methodology is based on the exploratory research principles and the legal doctrine,utilizing legislation and case law as the primary source of data,aiming to examine the effects of the HNS’s entry into force by studying cases that are inside its authority and scope.
