Engineering oxygen vacancies on Tb-doped ceria supported Pt catalyst for hydrogen production through steam reforming of long-chain hydrocarbon fuels

Steam reforming of long-chain hydrocarbon fuels for hydrogen production has received great attention for thermal management of the hypersonic vehicle and fuel-cell *** this work,Pt catalysts supported on CeO_(2)and Tb-doped CeO_(2)were prepared by a precipitation *** physical structure and chemical properties of the as-prepared catalysts were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy,Raman spectroscopy,H_(2)temperature programmed reduction,and X-ray photoelectron *** results show that Tb-doped CeO_(2)supported Pt possesses abundant surface oxygen vacancies,good inhibition of ceria sintering,and strong metal-support interaction compared with CeO_(2)supported *** catalytic performance of hydrogen production via steam reforming of long-chain hydrocarbon fuels(n-dodecane)was *** with 2Pt/CeO_(2),2Pt/Ce_(0.9)Tb_(0.1)O_(2),and 2Pt/Ce_(0.5)Tb_(0.5)O_(2),the 2Pt/Ce_(0.7)Tb_(0.3)O_(2)has higher activity and stability for hydrogen production,on which the conversion of n-dodecane was maintained at about 53.2%after 600 min reaction under 700℃at liquid space velocity of 9 ml·g^(-1)·h^(-1).2Pt/CeO_(2)rapidly deactivated,the conversion of n-dodecane was reduced to only 41.6%after 600 min.

TiAl intermetallic could be used to replace Ni-based alloy in assemblies to generate excellent specific strength.A(Ti,Zr)-Ni-based amorphous filler metal Ti_(21.25)Zr_(25)Ni_(25)Cu_(18.75)(at.%)was designed using a cluster-plus-glue-atom model to successfully vacuum braze K4169 and TiAl bimetallic *** various brazing temperatures and holding time,the quantitative relationships between lattice distortion,grain boundary,dislocation density,and hardness,elastic modulus,shear strength of the joints were ***,the fracture mechanism of the joints was *** brazed seam mainly consisted of solid diffusion reaction layers(ZonesⅠandⅢ)and filler metal residue zone(ZoneⅡ).When the brazing temperature increased to 1030℃,grain refinement occurred in the brazed ***Ⅰwas primarily composed of(Ni)ss[0-11]+TiNi[011]/(Cr,Fe,Ni)ss[0-11]/(Ti,Zr)Ni[0-1-1]+(Cr,Fe,Ni)ss[0-11].The(Ti,Zr)(Ni,Cu)[001]and(Ti,Zr)(Ni,Cu)[101]intermetallic compound-based solid solutions were formed in ZoneⅡ.And the lattice distortion of(Ti,Zr)(Ni,Cu)[101]and(Ti,Zr)(Ni,Cu)[001]was 32.05%and 14.82%,*** a result,the proportion of low angle grain boundaries(LAGBs)and deformed grains in ZoneⅡrose to 38.6%and 38.7%.In ZonesⅠandⅢ,the proportion of LAGBs reduced to 8%and 3.4%,*** the holding time increased,the long-range diffusion of Al in ZoneⅡcaused the(Ti,Zr)(Ni,Cu)[001]with cubic structure to transform into(Ti,Zr)(Ni,Cu,Al)[00-1]with hexagonal crystal system structure,where the lattice distortion was 4.42%and 10.49%for a and *** 1030℃/10 min,the average geometrically nec-essary dislocation densities(GNDs)in ZonesⅠ,ⅡandⅢwere 9.87×10^(14)m^(-2),8.55×10^(14)m^(-2)and 11.4×10^(14)m^(-2),***,the shear strength of joints reached 322 MPa due to the lattice distortion,dislocation strengthening and fine grain ***,the plastic and brittle hard phases were generated in ZoneⅡand displayed a mechanical interlocking structure tha

High precision and high throughput detection of heavy metal ions is essential for water quality monitoring and ***,we propose a plasmonic & electrochemical dual-mode fiber sensing probe for label-free and real-time detection of multiple ions(Pb2+and Cu2+as examples).This sensor comprises a multimode fiber-single mode fiber reflection probe,the outer surface of which is coated with a gold nanofilm to excite the surface plasmon resonance(SPR) optically and simultaneously serves as an electrochemical working *** traditional electrochemical detection,the enrichment of ions cannot be detected in ***,by utilizing the plasmonic & electrochemical dual-mode detection method,various kinds of metal ions can be deposited onto the gold nanofilm and selectively oxidized during forward potential scanning,and the entire electrochemical process can be monitored by SPR *** experimentally demonstrate that the sensor can simultaneously detect Pb2+and Cu2+in a mixed solution in real-time,providing a linear response over the ion concentration range from 10-12to 10-7M and offering an excellent detection limit(1.69×10-14–5.49×10-13M).The proposed dual-mode fiber sensor has the benefits of remote sensing,compact footprint,and cost-effectiveness and shows excellent potential for water quality risk management in difficult-to-reach environments.

Studies have shown that per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances(PFASs)may be hepatotoxic in animals or ***,data on clinical epidemiology are very *** this study,21PFASs were determined in patients with liver diseases,with the highest median concentrations detected in the serum sample(26.7 ng/mL),followed by blood(10.7 ng/mL)and urine(5.02 ng/mL).Higher total PFAS concentrations were found in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)patients compared to non-HCC patients,with significant discrepancies in serum and blood ***,significant correlations were also found among PFAS concentrations and age,gender,body mass index(BMI),and liver function biomarkers *** example,PFAS concentrations are significantly higher in males than in females;Several serum PFASs concentrations increase with age and BMI,while the serum perfluorohexane sulfonic acid(PFHxS)concentrations are negatively correlated with *** addition,multiple regression models adjusted for age,gender and BMI found that increased serum perfluorobutane sulfonic acid(PFBS),perfluoroheptane sulfonic acid(PFHpS)and perfluorohexylphosphonic acid(PFHxPA)conentrations are correlated with elevated alkaline phosphatase(ALP),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),and alpha-fetoprotein(AFP)(plinical hepatotoxicity of PFAS.

li–CO_(2)/O_(2)batteries,a promising energy storage technology,not only provide ultrahigh discharge capacity but also capture CO_(2)and turn it into renewable *** electrochemical reaction pathways'ambiguity,however,creates a hurdle for their practical *** study used copper selenide(CuSe)nanosheets as the air cathode medium in an environmental transmission electron microscope to in situ study li–CO_(2)/O_(2)(mix CO_(2)as well as O_(2)at a volume ratio of 1:1)and li–O_(2)batteries as well as li–CO_(2)*** discharge reactions take place successively in the li–CO_(2)/O_(2)–CuSe nanobattery:(I)4li^(+)+O_(2)+4e^(−)→2li_(2)O;(II)li_(2)O+CO_(2)→li_(2)CO_(3).The charge reaction proceeded via(III)2li_(2)CO_(3)→4li^(+)+2CO_(2)+O_(2)+4e^(−).However,li–O_(2)and li–CO_(2)nanobatteries showed poor cycling stability,suggesting the difficulty in the direct decomposition of the discharge *** fluctuations of the li–CO_(2)/O_(2)battery's electrochemistry were also shown to depend heavily on O_(2).The CuSe‐based li–CO_(2)/O_(2)battery showed exceptional electrochemical *** li^–CO_(2)/O_(2)battery offered a discharge capacity apex of 15,492 mAh g^(−1) and stable cycling 60 times at 100 mA g^(−1).Our research offers crucial insight into the electrochemical behavior of li–CO_(2)/O_(2),li–O_(2),and li–CO_(2)nanobatteries,which may help the creation of high‐performance li–CO_(2)/O_(2)batteries for energy storage applications.

In the boreal summer and autumn of 2023,the globe experienced an extremely hot period across both oceans and *** consecutive record-breaking mean surface temperature has caused many to speculate upon how the global temperature will evolve in the coming 2023/24 boreal *** this report,as shown in the multi-model ensemble mean(MME)prediction released by the Institute of Atmospheric Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences,a medium-to-strong eastern Pacific El Niño event will reach its mature phase in the following 2−3 months,which tends to excite an anomalous anticyclone over the western North Pacific and the Pacific-North American teleconnection,thus serving to modulate the winter climate in East Asia and North *** some uncertainty due to unpredictable internal atmospheric variability,the global mean surface temperature(GMST)in the 2023/24 winter will likely be the warmest in recorded history as a consequence of both the El Niño event and the long-term global warming ***,the middle and low latitudes of Eurasia are expected to experience an anomalously warm winter,and the surface air temperature anomaly in China will likely exceed 2.4 standard deviations above climatology and subsequently be recorded as the warmest winter since ***,the necessary early warnings are still reliable in the timely updated mediumterm numerical weather forecasts and sub-seasonal-to-seasonal prediction.

In order to reduce the labor intensity of high-altitude workers and realize the cleaning and maintenance of high-rise building exteriors,this paper proposes a design for a 4-DOF bipedal wall-climbing bionic robot inspired by the inchworm’s *** robot utilizes vacuum adsorption for vertical wall attachment and legged movement for *** enhance the robot’s movement efficiency and reduce wear on the adsorption device,a gait mimicking an inchworm’s movement is planned,and foot trajectory planning is performed using a quintic polynomial *** velocity constraints,foot trajectory optimization is achieved using an improved Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)algorithm,determining the quintic polynomial function with the best fitness through ***,through comparative experiments,the climbing time of the robot closely matches the simulation results,validating the trajectory planning method’s accuracy.

Selective photosynthesis of imines from biomass-derived aldehydes over Ni/TiO_(2)

Photocatalytic reductive amination of biomass-derived aldehydes is a desirable way to selectively upgrade biomass into value-added nitrogen-containing chemicals under mild ***,it is challenging to produce imines in high selectivity because of the undesirable side reactions caused by the activity of functional ***,we demonstrate the highly reactive and selective production of imines from biomass derived aldehydes via the photocatalytic reductive amination,using a defective TiO_(2)supported nickel *** employment of methanol as the hydrogen donor and ammonia solution as the nitrogen source avoids the use of high-pressure H_(2)and expensive amines,rendering the current catalytic process safe,economical,and environmentally *** depth investigations attribute the improved separation and transfer of photogenerated charge carriers to the presence of oxygen vacancies and decorated Ni nanoparticles,thereby accelerating the production of imines from benzaldehyde amination(conversion,95.8%;seleetivity,95.2%).Furthermore,the developed system could be easily translated to the photocatalytic conversions of various biomass derived aldehydes,which provided an example of a cost-effective and sustainable approach for the valorization of biomass derived feedstocks.
