Endoplasmic reticulum(ER)viscosity has emerged as a new potential biomarker for hepatic fibrosis(HF).Herein,we report the first ER-targeting viscosity-responsive near-infrared(NIR)fluorescent probe HBT-PP for investigations of HF *** twisted intramolecular charge transfer(TICT)and the excited state intramolecular proton transfer(ESIPT)are combined to endow HBT-PP with the selective response towards viscosity(~62-fold)and a super large stokes shift(~320 nm).HBT-PP mainly targets organelle ER and is able to image the drug-or alcohol-induced viscosity elevation in living ***,HBT-PP was successfully applied to visualize the gender difference in HF and the protective role of estrogen in restraining HF *** note,after 10 min of stain with HBT-PP,HF lesions showed a stage-based response,indicating the potential of this probe in fast and early diagnosis of *** results clearly demonstrated the promising application of HBT-PP as a new tool for exploring ER viscosity-involved physiological and pathological processes.

Deep learning neural network incorporating surface enhancement Raman scattering technique(SERS)is becoming as a powerful tool for the precise classifications and diagnosis of bacterial ***,the large amount of sample requirement and time-consuming sample collection severely hinder its *** herein propose a spectral concatenation strategy for residual neural network using nonspecific and specific SERS spectra for the training data augmentation,which is accessible to acquiring larger training dataset with same number of SERS spectra or same size of training dataset with fewer SERS spectra,compared with pure non-specific SERS *** this strategy,the training loss exhibit rapid convergence,and an average accuracy up to 100%in bacteria classifications was achieved with50 SERS spectra for each kind of bacterium;even reduced to 20 SERS spectra per kind of bacterium,classification accuracy is still>95%,demonstrating marked advantage over the results without spectra *** method can markedly improve the classification accuracy under fewer samples and reduce the data collection workload,and can evidently enhance the performance when used in different machine learning models with high generalization ***,this strategy is beneficial for rapid and accurate bacteria classifications with residual neural network.

Analyses of the physiology and pathology of active biochemical species in their native contexts are critical for early diagnosis and therapy. Optical imaging has emerged as one of the promising modalities for noninvasive and real-time visualization of important biomolecules or biological events, and it has witnessed major advances in the field of imaging in vitro and in vivo. In this review, we present a survey of common approaches and tactics for enhanced targetability, response rate, and photostability in bioimaging applications. Recently developed and representative examples are illustrated on the cellular and tissue levels.

The sensitive and selective detection of nucleic acids is important for basic research and many applied fields. Herein, a novel green DEAB-TO-1 was designed and synthesized. DEAB-TO-1 shows significant fluorescence enhancement(800-fold) when bound to ctDNA and a distinct selectivity for dsDNA over RNA(5.9 times). Moreover, the limit of detection is 0.57 ng/ml. It is live-cell-permeant DNA intecalator,indicating a promising candidate for nucleus-specific imaging and a good counter-stain compatibility with other dyes.

Spray drying,as a crucial operation in industrial production,converts solution to fine *** spray moiety directly affects the final particle morphology,size and *** with the experimental method,computational fluid dynamics(CFD)modeling is a powerful and convenient tool for simulating the spray *** on the verified CFD model,different materials of atomizer were simulated to investigate the effect on droplet size and distribution in this *** modeling result proved that the droplet size and distribution were influenced by the resistance coefficient of materials,wherein the Reynolds number could change the effect of roughness along with the change of mass flow rate on spray *** results in this work have implication for controlling droplet size through developing new spray nozzle with different materials or surface coating.

Cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2)has been used as an excellent traceable biomarker,and exists maximally in Golgi apparatus(Cancer cells).Celecoxib(CCB)is a selective inhibitor for COX-2,and has been used as one of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory *** we report the conjugation of nile blue(NB)with CCB via a six-carbon linkage to form a fluorescence probe NB-C6-CCB for the detection of ***-C6-CCB displays strong fluorescence with the emission peak centered at near-infrared wavelength(700 nm)in tumor cells or tumor tissues with high expression of ***,NB-C6-CCB can discriminate cancer cells(MCF-7)fluorescence intensity from normal ones(COS-7)in the co-culture medium under confocal *** localization of the NBC6-CCB preferentially points to the Golgi apparatus and increases the fluorescent *** competitive analysis(with CCB)and Native-PAGE analysis confirmed that NB-C6-CCB shows selective binding affinity towards COX-2 *** analysis with CCB(flow cytometry assay)revealed the fluorescence intensity fluctuation due to pretreatment of CCB with different concentrations,indicating that the NB-C6-CCB is a precise or sensitive probe for the *** tissue(depth:500μm),organs and mice imaging tests show excellent nearinfrared visualization,specific localization and identification of tumors.

Photochromic diarylethenes have been widely used in many fields. However, their cyclization process must be induced by UV light. In this article, a simple strategy is developed by extending π-conjugation with electron donating groups. The modified dirylethene derivative can photocyclolize under 405-nm light with a good photochromic efficiency. Meanwhile, its absorption and moderate fluorescence can be switched effectively in both directions by visible lights(405 and 520 nm, respectively) in different solutions and in living cells. We believe that this simple method will become a versatile strategy for developing various dirylethylenes with visible-light photochromism.

In distributed radar,most of existing radar networks operate in the tracking fusion mode which combines radar target tracks for a higher positioning ***,as the filtering covariance matrix indicating positioning accuracy often occupies many bits,the communication cost from local sensors to the fusion is not always sufficiently low for some wireless communication *** paper studies how to compress data for distributed tracking fusion *** on the K-singular value decomposition(K-SVD)algorithm,a sparse coding algorithm is presented to sparsely represent the filtering covariance *** the least square quantization(LSQ)algo-rithm is used to quantize the data according to the statistical characteristics of the sparse *** results are then coded with an arithmetic coding method which can further com-press *** results indicate that this tracking data compression algorithm drops the com-munication bandwidth to 4%at the cost of a 16%root mean squared error(RMSE)loss.

A new fluorescent probe RY was synthesized for the detection of Au3+ions based on a rhodamine B *** fluorescent probe showed good selectivity and sensitivity to Au3+*** color and fluorescence changes could be observed with the naked eye while the fluorescent probe reacted with the Au3+*** detection limit of the probe was determined to be 36 ppb by the fluorescence *** excellent linear relationship suggests that the probe is potentially useful for quantitative detection of Au3+in *** also demonstrated its bioimaging application in both living cells and *** was the first time that a fluorescent probe was successfully applied to imaging Au3+in living animals.
