The high glass transition temperature polymer polyetherketone doped with disperse red 13 (DR13/PEK-c) has been prepared by the spin-coating method. Through in situ second-harmonic generation, the corona poling temperature was optimized by measuring the temperature dependence of the in situ second-harmonic generation signal intensity under the poling electric field. The linear electro-optic coefficients of the poled polymer films have been determined at 632.8nm by using a simple interferometric technique. The polymer system was measured after 13000h, and found that it remained at 80% of its initial value.

The polyetherketone(PEK-c)guest-host system thin films in which the range of the weight percent of 3-(1,1-dicyanothenyl)-1-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pry azole(DCNP)is from 20% to 50% were *** predicted high value of electro-optical(EO) coefficient γ33=48.8 pm/V by using two-level model was obtained when the weight percent of DCNP in the polymer system is 40%,whereas EO coefficients are attenuated at higher chromophore loading than 40%.The temporal stability of the EO activity of the guest-host polymer was evaluated by probing the decay of the orientational order of the chromophores in the polymer system.

Reactions involving alkenyl acetates offer cost-effective and environmentally friendly routes for alkene synthesis, yet their asymmetric variant remains elusive. Concurrently, asymmetric conjugate alkenylation predominantly centered on nucleophilic addition using alkenyl–M. This manuscript presents an asymmetric reductive conjugate alkenylation reaction involving alkenyl acetates. The method facilitates the enantioselective addition of keto alkenyl groups to α,β-enones, resulting in the formation of unsaturated diketones—a class of useful structural motifs that are challenging to access otherwise. The use of electron-rich Pyroxy ligand is essential for achieving both high reaction efficiency and enantioselectivity.

Gender based differences in patients with acute coronary syndrome:findings from Chinese Registry of Acute Coronary Events (CRACE)

Background Many studies have examined gender related differences in the presenting symptoms, management and prognosis of patients with acute coronary syndrome （ACS）. Much data are available from industrialized countries, in which ACS is a major cause of morbidity and mortality, but relatively little information has been obtained from China, where an epidemic of cardiovascular disease is starting to emerge. The purpose of this study was to assess the differences in clinical practice in a national Chinese sample. Methods A total of 12 medical teaching hospitals participated in CRACE. Data collection began in 2001 and continued until 2004, 1301 patients with ACS were enrolled into the study. We compared the clinical demographics, different therapies and outcomes in hospitals between female and male patients with ACS. Results Patients had an average age of 63.13 years （ranging from 27 to 93 years） and 318 female and 983 male subjects were enrolled. Female subjects were older than male patients （67.23 years vs 61.80 years, P〈0.0001）. The incidence of angina, heart failure, diabetes mellitus and hypertension in the female group was higher than in male group （73.6% vs 62.3%, P〈0.0001; 8.2% vs 5.7%, P=-0.031; 30.8% vs 18.6%, P〈0.0001 and 66.4% vs 56.8%, P=-0.001 respectively）, but the incidence of smoking was less in the female group than in the male group （6.6% vs 66.2%, P〈0.0001）. More male patients presented with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction （STEMI） compared with female patients （48.5% vs 39%, P=0.002）. With the exception of β-blocker administration, no differences were found among medications including aspirin, ACEI, lipid lowering agents and low-molecular-weight heparin （LMWH） between female and male patients presenting with ACS in hospitals. Compared with male patients with non-ST-segment elevation （NSTE） ACS, female subjects were more prone to receive β-blockers （75.1% vs 63.4%, P=0.001）. Neuronal growth, extension, branching, and formation of neural networks are markedly influenced by the extracellular matrix—a complex network composed of proteins and carbohydrates secreted by cells. In addition to providing physical support for cells, the extracellular matrix also conveys critical mechanical stiffness cues. During the development of the nervous system, extracellular matrix stiffness plays a central role in guiding neuronal growth, particularly in the context of axonal extension, which is crucial for the formation of neural networks. In neural tissue engineering, manipulation of biomaterial stiffness is a promising strategy to provide a permissive environment for the repair and regeneration of injured nervous tissue. Recent research has fine-tuned synthetic biomaterials to fabricate scaffolds that closely replicate the stiffness profiles observed in the nervous system. In this review, we highlight the molecular mechanisms by which extracellular matrix stiffness regulates axonal growth and regeneration. We highlight the progress made in the development of stiffness-tunable biomaterials to emulate in vivo extracellular matrix environments, with an emphasis on their application in neural repair and regeneration, along with a discussion of the current limitations and future prospects. The exploration and optimization of the stiffness-tunable biomaterials has the potential to markedly advance the development of neural tissue engineering.

Studying molecular recognition in aqueous environments is crucial for understanding biological processes. Herein, we present a series of N-doped endo-functionalized anthracene-based cavities by introducing inward-directed pyridine units. The subtle modifications can significantly affect the binding properties of these receptors, which is similar to the mutations in biological systems. Combining theoretical calculations and molecular recognition experiments demonstrated that these “mutations” have an impact on the hydrophobicity and charge distribution of the hosts, consequently significantly influencing molecular *** is crucial for understanding the intricate mechanisms of molecular-level interactions in biological receptors.

Background Many patients with acute coronary syndrome （ACS） develop recurrent angina （RA） during hospitalization. The aim of this non-randomized, prospective study was to investigate the predictive factors of RA in unselected patients with ACS enrolled in the global registry acute coronary events （GRACE） during hospitalization in *** Between March 2001 and October 2004., enrolled were 1433 patients with ACS, including ST segment elevation myocardial infarction （662, 46.2%）, non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction （239, 16.7%） and unstable angina （532, 37.1%）. The demographic distribution, medical history and clinical data were collected to investigate the predictive factors of RA by Logistic regression. Results During hospitalization 275 （19.2%） patients were documented with RA including unstable angina （53.2%）, non- ST segment elevation myocardial infarction （27.5%）, ST segment elevation myocardial infarction （19.3%）. A comorbidity of dyslipidemia, prior angina, percutaneous coronary intervention （PCI） within 6 months was more common in patients with RA, P〈0.05. In the patients with RA, a significantly higher proportion of patients with acute pulmonary edema was observed, 23 （8.4%） versus 43 （3.7%）, P=0.001. Acute renal failure was present in 8 （2.9%） of patients with RA versus 19 （1.6%） of patients without RA, P=0.165. Hemorrhagic events were present in 6 （2.2%） of patients with RA versus 8 （0.7%） of patients without RA, ventricular tachycardia/ventricular fibrillation events in 12 patients （4.3%） versus 22 patients （1.9%）, congestive heart failure in 69 patients （25.0%） versus 94 patients （8.1%）, myocardial re-infarction in 28 patients （10.1%） versus 15 patients （1.3%）, P〈0.05, respectively. A lower proportion of patients with RA underwent in-hospital PCI 687 （59.3%） versus 114 （41.5%）, P=0.000. This study presents a novel method to fabricate metal-decorated,sulfur-doped layered double hydroxides （M/SLDH） through spontaneous redox and sulfurization *** developed Ag/SLDH and Pt/SLDH catalysts with abundant heterogeneous interfaces and hierarchical nanostructures demonstrated outstanding oxygen evolution reaction （OER） and hydrogen evolution reaction （HER） performance,achieving low overpotentials of 212 and 35 mV at 10 mA cm-2in 1 M KOH,*** both anode and cathode in water splitting,they required only 1.47 V to reach 10 mA cm-2and exhibited high structural robustness,maintaining stability at 1000 mA cm-2for 300 ***-situ Raman analysis revealed that the synergistic effects of metal nanoparticles and S doping significantly promote the transformation into the S-Co1-xFexOOH layer,which serves as the active phase for water ***,ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy （UPS） and density functional theory （DFT） analyses indicated that incorporating metal nanoparticles and S doping increase electron density near the Fermi level and reduce reaction energy barriers,thus enhancing intrinsic OER and HER *** study provides a scalable strategy for synthesizing high-performance electrocatalysts for water splitting,with promising potential for broader applications.
