Gastric cancer(GC)is one of the most common malignancies,with an everincreasing incidence and high mortality ***4(CBX4),also named hPC2,is a small ubiquitin-related modifier(SUMO)E3 *** studies have found that high CBX4 expression is associated with tumor size,pathologic differentiation and decreased patient survival in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).However,the expression and prognostic value of CBX4 in GC have not been *** our study,ONCOMINE,UALCAN,KaplanMeier Plotter,cBioPortal,DAVID 6.8 and TIMER were ***-PCR,immunohistochemistry(IHC),Western blot,CCK-8 assay,cell apoptosis assay,cell cycle assay were used to further verify in GC tissue samples or cell *** transcriptional and protein level of CBX4 in GC tissues was found significantly elevated and a significant association between the expression of CBX4 and clinicopathological parameters was found in GC *** expression of CBX4 in GC patients were correlated with a significantly improved *** functions of CBX4 are primarily related to the stem cell pluripotency signaling pathway,Hippo signaling pathway,HTLV-I infection,Notch signaling pathway,and N-glycan *** results may provide novel insights for the selection of therapeutic targets and prognostic biomarkers for GC.

Single cell analysis is of great significance to understand the physiological activity of *** droplet is an ideal analytical platform for single-cell analysis. We developed a microfluidic droplet splitting system integrated with a flow-focusing structure and multi-step splitting structures to form 8-line droplets and encapsulate single cells in the droplets. Droplet generation frequency reached1021 Hz with the aqueous phase flow rate of 1 m L/min and the oil phase flow rate of 15 mL /min. Relative standard deviation of the droplet size was less than 5% in a single channel, while less than 6% in all the8 channels. The system was used for encapsulating human whole blood cells. A single-cell encapsulation efficiency of 31% was obtained with the blood cell concentration of 2.5 ？ 104cells/mL, and the multicellular droplet percentage was only 1.3%. The multi-step droplet splitting system for single cell encapsulation featured simple structure and high throughput.

An efficient direct asymmetric aldol reaction with zinc triflate and prolinamides as combined catalysts is reported.A series of chiral prolinamides have been designed and used in the direct aldol reaction resulting in the desired products with excellent yields(up to 94% yield) and high enantioselectivities(up to 96% ee).Water was found to play a significant role in the formation of the aldol products,which suggests a new strategy in the design of new organic catalysts.

Essential proteins are those necessary for the survival or reproduction of species and discovering such essential proteins is fundamental for understanding the minimal requirements for cellular life, which is also meaningful to the disease study and drug design. With the development of high-throughput techniques, a large number of Protein-Protein Interactions（PPIs） can be used to identify essential proteins at the network level. Up to now, though a series of network-based computational methods have been proposed, it is still a challenge to improve the prediction precision as the high false positives in PPI networks. In this paper, we propose a new method GOS to identify essential proteins by integrating the Gene expressions, Orthology, and Subcellular localization *** gene expressions and subcellular localization information are used to determine whether a neighbor in the PPI network is reliable. Only reliable neighbors are considered when we analyze the topological characteristics of a protein in a PPI network. We also analyze the orthologous attributes of each protein to reflect its conservative features, and use a random walk model to integrate a protein＇s topological characteristics and its orthology. The experimental results on the yeast PPI network show that the proposed method GOS outperforms the ten existing methods DC, BC, CC, SC, EC, IC, NC, Pe C, ION, and CSC.

Essential proteins play a vital role in biological processes,and the combination of gene expression profiles with Protein-Protein Interaction(PPI)networks can improve the identification of essential ***,gene expression data are prone to significant fluctuations due to noise interference in topological *** this work,we discretized gene expression data and used the discrete similarities of the gene expression spectrum to eliminate noise *** then proposed the Pearson Jaccard coefficient(PJC)that consisted of continuous and discrete similarities in the gene expression *** the graph theory as the basis,we fused the newly proposed similarity coefficient with the existing network topology prediction algorithm at each protein node to recognize essential *** strategy exhibited a high recognition rate and good *** validated the new similarity coefficient PJC on PPI datasets of Krogan,Gavin,and DIP of yeast species and evaluated the results by receiver operating characteristic analysis,jackknife analysis,top analysis,and accuracy *** with that of node-based network topology centrality and fusion biological information centrality methods,the new similarity coefficient PJC showed a significantly improved prediction performance for essential proteins in DC,IC,Eigenvector centrality,subgraph centrality,betweenness centrality,closeness centrality,NC,PeC,and *** also compared the PJC coefficient with other methods using the NF-PIN algorithm,which predicts proteins by constructing active PPI networks through dynamic gene *** experimental results proved that our newly proposed similarity coefficient PJC has superior advantages in predicting essential proteins.

The effects of chitosan inhibitor on the corrosion behavior of 2205 duplex stainless steel were studied by electrochemical measurements, immersion tests, and stereology microscopy. The influences of immersion time, temperature, and chitosan concentration on the corrosion inhibition performance of chitosan were investigated. The optimum parameters of water-soluble chitosan on the corrosion inhibition performance of 2205 duplex stainless steel were also determined. The water-soluble chitosan showed excellent corrosion inhibition performance on the 2205 duplex stainless steel. Polarization curves demonstrated that chitosan acted as a mixed-type inhibitor. When the stainless steel specimen was immersed in the 0.2 g/L chitosan solution for 4 h, a dense and uniform adsorption film covered the sample surface and the inhibition efficiency(IE) reached its maximum value. Moreover, temperature was found to strongly influence the corrosion inhibition of chitosan; the inhibition efficiency gradually decreased with increasing temperature. The 2205 duplex stainless steel specimen immersed in 0.4 g/L water-soluble chitosan at 30°C displayed the best corrosion inhibition among the investigated specimens. Moreover, chitosan decreased the corrosion rate of the 2205 duplex stainless steel in an FeCl_3 solution.
