Fluorescence-activated droplet sorting(FADS)is one of the most important features provided by droplet-based ***,to date,it does not allow to compete with the high-throughput multiplexed sorting capabilities offered by flow ***,we demonstrate the use of a dielectrophoretic-based FADS,allowing to sort up to five different droplet populations *** system provides means to select droplets of different phenotypes in a single experimental run to separate initially heterogeneous *** experimental results are rationalized with the help of a numerical model of the actuation of droplets in electric fields providing guidelines for the prediction of sorting designs for upscaled or downscaled microsystems.

In many gaseous multi-phase systems,like in the atmosphere,in exhaust gases etc.,there are particles which are too small to be measured directly by conventional detection mechanisms with regard to their number and to their *** temporally resolved detection of these parameters is however important because the particle size and particle number can have a substantial influence on the health *** the breathing air,or they may affect the efficiency and the lifetime of filters *** technology. To measure the number of small particles within the range of 5 nm to 1 μm condensation nucleus counters,so called CNCs,are *** CNCs are developed usually for laboratory measurements and are sensitive in relation to fluctuations of the temperature and of the air pressure in the atmosphere. The combination of a new condensation module,the CNC-04,with the white light aerosol spectrometer welas and the passive collector Sigma-2 makes possible an almost accurate time-resolved determination of the particle number within the range of approx.10 nm to 40 μm. With the welas-system a temporally high-resolved particle size determination is possible in the ranges 0,3-17 μm or 0.7-40 μm also in high concentrations up to 10 particles/cm. Due to the combination of the welas with the new CNC-04 module,the number of smallest particles down to 10 nm can,for the first time,be accurately determined with a counting procedure also in concentrations up to 10 particles/***,the new device combination is suitable particularly for measurements in the outside air, the more so as the number concentration of atmospheric particles＜100 nm can increase easily up to 10 particles/cm. Since for the high-resolved size and quantity determination of particles＞0.3 μm one uses the same device as for the counting of the up-condensed smaller particles,both measurements are identical concerning the counting ***,the measurement results can be clearly combined computationally. BACKGROUND Genetic and epigenetic alterations are related to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease(mASLD)*** To evaluate micro(mi)RNAs and lipophagy markers in an experimental model of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis(mASH).mETHODS Adult male Sprague Dawley rats were randomized into two groups:Control group(n=10)fed a standard diet;and intervention group(n=10)fed a high-fat-choline-deficient diet for 16 *** evaluation of li-pophagy markers in liver tissue[sirtuin-1,p62/sequestosome-1,transcription factor-EB,perilipin-2(plin2),plin3,plin5,lysosome-associated membrane proteins-2,rubicon,and Cd36],and serum miRNAs were *** Animals in the intervention group developed mASH and showed a significant decrease in sirtuin-1(p=0.020)and p62/sequestosome-1(ppposite was reported for transcription factor-EB(p=0.020),plin2(p=0.003),plin3(p=0.031),and plin5(p=0.005)compared to the control *** was no significant difference between groups for lysosome-associated membrane proteins-2(p=0.715),rubicon(p=0.166),and Cd36(p=0.312).The intervention group showed a significant increase in miR-34a(p=0.005)and miR-21(p=0.043)compared to the *** was no significant difference between groups for miR-375(p=0.905),miR-26b(p=0.698),and miR-155(p=0.688).CONCLUSION Animals with mASH presented expression changes in markers related to lysosomal stress and autophagy as well as in miRNAs related to inflammation and fibrogenesis,processes that promote mASLD progression.

The introduction of transjugular intrahepatic portalsystemic stent-shunt （TIpSS） has been a major breakthrough in the treatment of portal hypertension, which has evolved to a large extent, into a routine procedure. A 21-year-old male patient with progressive graft fibrosis/cirrhosis requiring TIpSS for variceal hemorrhage in the esophagus due to portal hypertension was unresponsive to conventional measures two years after living related liver transplantation （LDLT）. Subsequently, variceal hemorrhage was controlled, however, liver function decreased dramatically with consecutive multi organ failure. CT scan revealed substantial necrosis in the liver. The patient underwent successful ＂high urgent＂ cadaveric liver transplantation and was discharged on postoperative d 20 in a stable condition.

Oral antibody to interleukin-10(anti-IL-10)enhances the intestinal immune defense against *** sulfur amino acids methionine and cysteine(mtC)play essential roles in inducing and maintaining protective immune responses during intestinal ***,increased dietary mtC may support the anti-IL-10-induced intestinal immunity to ***(n=640)were arranged in a 2×2×2 factorial design with 2 levels of each of the 3 main factors:dietary standardized ileal digestible(SID)mtC levels(0.6%or 0.8%),dietary anti-IL-10 supplementation(with or without),and coccidiosis challenge(control or challenge).Briefly,the broilers were supplied with either 0.6%or 0.8%SID mtC,each with or without anti-IL-10(300 mg/kg),from d 10 to *** d 14,broilers from each diet were gavaged with either pBS or *** resulting Eimeria infection induced fecal oocyst shedding and intestinal *** fed 0.8%SID mtC(main effects,p≤0.05)had decreased feed-to-gain ratio,increased duodenum and cecum luminal anti-Eimeria IgA titers,and decreased fecal oocyst counts,when compared to 0.6%SID *** supplementation of anti-IL-10(main effects,p≤0.05)increased cecum luminal total IgA concentration and decreased cecum ***(p≤0.05)were detected for growth performance and cecum luminal IFN-γ.Briefly,the highest body weight gain and feed intake were reached in pBS-gavaged broilers fed 0.8%SID mtC with no anti-IL-10 and in Eimeria-challenged broilers fed 0.8%SID mtC with *** Eimeria-infected broilers,anti-IL-10 increased intestinal luminal IFN-γ and body weight gain only at 0.8%SID ***,anti-IL-10 increased intestinal luminal IFN-γ levels,decreased cecum lesions and restored growth only when fed with adequate amounts of sulfur amino *** findings underscore the importance of providing sufficient essential nutrients to support the anti-IL-10 induced immunity against coccidiosis.

High-resolution environmental records from the Tibetan plateau are essential to understand past global climatic and environmental changes. magnetic minerals in lake sediments are important proxies to reconstruct environmental and climatic changes. Nam Co (lake) is a typical great lake in the transitional region of southwest monsoon in the Tibetan plateau. previous studies have extensively focused on geochemistry, microfossils, sedimentology and biochemistry analysis of Nam Co, which provides sound interpretation of paleoclimatic and paleoenvironmental changes. However, up to now, no systematic environmental magnetic studies have been carried out. Therefore, high-resolution and systematic magnetic studies combined with geochemical parameters were carried on lake sediments of core NC 08/01 from Nam Co for the Holocene period (11.3 cal ka Bp) in order to explore how magnetic properties of the sediments respond to climatic changes. Based on variations of magnetic proxies, the sequence can be separated into 3 units. Unit 1 (236-199 cm, 11.3-7.8 cal ka Bp) contains dominantly coarse-grained magnetite with homogeneous grain size. A positive correlation between magnetite and Ti strongly suggests that these coarse-grained detrital magnetites reflect detrital input signals due to insignificant effects of postdepositional dissolution processes on these coarse-grained magnetite particles. For Unit 2 (198-102 cm, 7.8-2.1 cal ka Bp), magnetic grain size is finer and the corresponding concentration of magnetite is also reduced. This is mainly due to significant dissolution of these fine-grained detrital magnetite particles, which were transported under reduced water flow conditions during this period. For Unit 3 (101-0 cm, 2.1-0 cal ka Bp), the bulk magnetic properties are dominated by a mixture of single domain biogenic magnetite and detrital magnetite.
