The electroosmotic flow of a micropolar fluid in a microchannel bounded by two parallel porous plates undergoing periodic vibration is studied. The equations for conservation of linear and angular momentums and Gauss＇s law of charge distribution are solved within the framework of the Debye-Hückel approximation. The fluid velocity and microrotation are assumed to depend linearly on the Reynolds number. The study shows that the amplitude of microrotation is highly sensitive to the changes in the magnitude of the suction velocity and the width of the microchannel. An increase in the micropolar parameter gives rise to a decrease in the amplitude of microrotation. Numerical estimates reveal that the microrotation of the suspended microelements in blood also plays an important role in controlling the electro-osmotically actuated flow dynamics in microbio-fluidic devices.

A fuzzy, c-means(FCM) clustering technique is explored to investigate the track of tropical cyclones over the North Indian Ocean(NIO) for the period(1976-2014). A total of fi ve clusters is objectively identifi ed based on partition index,partition coeffi cient, Dunn Index and separation index. The results obtained during analysis emphasized that each cluster has the unique features in terms of their genesis location, landfall, travel duration, trajectory, seasonality, accumulated cyclone energy and Intensity. Analysis of large scale environmental parameters, constructed preceding day of genesis show some of these parameters to be potential precursors to TC formation for almost all the clusters, most prominently, mid-tropospheric humidity, zonal wind,vorticity and outgoing long wave radiation of the main developing regions. The individual clusters have the several distinct features in their seasonal *** cluster C5 shows distinct bimodal distributions where as other clusters are formed throughout the year. ENSO infl uenced the cyclone frequency in two of the fi ve clusters. The MJO is found to play an important role in the genesis of the cyclone. The post monsoon season cyclone frequency is more in MJO phase 2, 3 and 4. The technique(FCM) can be used as a guideline in terms of the probable affected zone of TC Tracks by the operational forecasters.

A robust estimation of the earthquake location, seismic moment, and fault geometry is essential for objective seismic hazard assessment. Seismic events in a remote location, specifically in the absence of seismic and GNSS networks, can be investigated effectively using the In SAR-based technique. This study adopts the Differential Interferometric SAR(DIn SAR) technique to quantify the co-seismic surface displacement caused by the June 21, 2022, khōst M_(W)6 earthquake that occurred along the western plate boundary between the Indian and Eurasian plate. The interferograms show that the maximum surface deformation occurred on the northwest and southwest of the fault line. From coherence, the Line of Sight(LOS) displacement, and the co-seismic surface displacement analysis, it has been observed that surface deformation was most pronounced in the southwest region of the fault line, and the surface has moved to the opposite direction along the fault line, which indicates a sinistral slightly oblique strike-slip movement. This In SAR-based observation appears consistent with the seismic waveforms derived from co-seismic surface displacements. Further, it has been argued that the slip deficit accumulated during the period of the last about 48 years along the frontal region of the northward extension of the Suleiman range and associated fault zone is qualitatively estimated at about 1.5 m, which is consistent with the seismic waveforms derived finite slip model.

Thickness measurement plays an important role in the monitoring of pipeline corrosion damage. However, the requirement for prior knowledge of the shear wave velocity in the pipeline material for popular ultrasonic thickness measurement limits its widespread application. This paper proposes a method that utilizes cylindrical shear horizontal(SH) guided waves to estimate pipeline thickness without prior knowledge of shear wave velocity. The inversion formulas are derived from the dispersion of higher-order modes with the high-frequency approximation. The waveform of the example problems is simulated using the real-axis integral method. The data points on the dispersion curves are processed in the frequency domain using the wave-number method. These extracted data are then substituted into the derived formulas. The results verify that employing higher-order SH guided waves for the evaluation of thickness and shear wave velocity yields less than1% error. This method can be applied to both metallic and non-metallic pipelines, thus opening new possibilities for health monitoring of pipeline structures.

The therapeutic outcomes of conventional oral medications against ulcerative colitis(UC)are restricted by inefficient drug delivery to the colitis mucosa and weak capacity to modulate the inflammatory ***,a fluorinated pluronic(Fp127)was synthesized and employed to functionalize the surface of mulberry leaf-derived nanoparticles(MLNs)loading with resveratrol nanocrystals(RNs).The obtained Fp127@RN-MLNs possessed exosome-like morphologies,desirable particle sizes(around 171.4 nm),and negatively charged surfaces(−14.8 mV).The introduction of Fp127 to RN-MLNs greatly improved their stability in the colon and promoted their mucus infiltration and mucosal penetration capacities due to the unique fluorine effect.

构筑人工智能交互系统依然存在挑战,其原因在于缺少高性能的感知-计算集成系统.本研究基于丝素蛋白复合忆阻器与压阻式传感器设计了集感-存-算功能于一体的人工触觉感知系统.传感器由聚二甲基硅氧烷/银纳米线构成,可快速响应外界压力刺激.丝素蛋白复合忆阻器具有优异的循环稳定性及突触可塑性模拟功能,可作为人工突触处理触觉信息.本文集成的触觉感知系统可实现对压力信号的感知、存储及加工,证实了其模拟生物体触觉神经系统的可能,有望在自动驾驶、可穿戴柔性电子、仿生机器人等人工智能领域广泛应用.
