From the study of the Strengbach and Ringelbach watersheds we propose to illustrate the interest of combining the geochemical tracing and geochemical modeling approaches on surface and deep borehole waters,to decipher the diversity of the water flow and the associated water–rock interactions in such elementary mountainous catchments. The results point to a clear geochemical typology of waters depending on the water circulations(deep vs. hypodermic) within the substratum.

Geographic simulation models can be used to explore and better understand the geographical environment. Recent advances in geographic and socio-environmental research have led to a dramatic increase in the number of models used for this purpose. Some model repositories provide opportunities for users to explore and apply models,but few provide a general evaluation method for assessing the applicability and recognition of models. In this study,an academic impact evaluation method for models is proposed. Five indices are designed based on their pertinence. The analytical hierarchy process is used to calculate the index weights,and the academic impacts of models are quantified with the weighted sum method. The time range is controlled to evaluate the life-term and annual academic impacts of the models. Some models that met the evaluation criteria from different domains are then evaluated. The results show that the academic impact of a model can be quantified with the proposed method,and the major research areas that models impact are identified.

For a short closed conduit with smooth (streamline pattern) boundary, the comparison of minimum pressure coefficient at boundary, - Cpm , which obtained from model tests, with flow cavitation number a is possible to describe the property of preventing cavitation in the closed conduit.In this paper, analytical results show that the ratio σ/ - Cpm decreases with increasing Reynolds number Re, when the configuration of the conduit is designed, and this ratio approaches a constant when Re = 106 or so. The model test data for five engineering cases of the short closed conduit with various configuration indicates that the analytical results are reliable. Therefore, the value of the ratio σ/ - Cpm corresponding to that of Reynolds number in model (Re)m ≥106 must be taken so as to correctly describe the cavitation property of the studied conduit. The condition of Lr ≥ 10-4[(Re)p]2/3 should be satisfied ( Lr is model length scale; (Re)p is Reynolds number in prototype) when the model is designed by Froude criterion of similarity.

Adult Urological Cancers at Zinder National Hospital

The aim of this study was to present the epidemiological, clinical and therapeutic aspects of adult urological cancers in the department of urology at Zinder National Hospital. patients and methods: This was a cross-sectional study of adult primary urologic cancers during the period of January 2019 to December 2023. Data were obtained from the record of patients admitted to urology, and the medical oncology department. The parameters studied were;frequency, age, sex, urogenital distribution, anatomopathological type, and therapeutic aspects. Data were recorded on Excel 2013 and analyzed with Epi-info version 7.2.5. Results: Epidemiology: About 289 cancers were diagnosed through 6017 consultations during the period, corresponding to 4.80% of urological pathologies: prostate cancer (n = 221;76.47%), bladder cancer (n = 46;15.92%), kidney cancer (n = 13;04.5%), testis cancer (n = 09;03.11%). median age of patients was 50.42 years. prostate cancer: was Adenocarcinoma in 100% (n = 221) with Gleason scores > 7 (77.83%) and prostatique specific antigen (pSA) > 20 ng/ml in 90.04%. Extension evaluation 134 cases (60.63%). Treatment was chirurgical castration in (62.44%) and resistance to castration appeared between 8 and 11 months. Hospital mortality for prostate cancer was 16.29%. Bladder cancer was found in 46 cases with Sex ratio 7/1. Cystoscopy was performed for all. Histology revealed squamous cell carcinoma (n = 41;89.13%), and (n = 5;10.87%) urothelial. Endoscopic resection performed (n = 14;30.43%). Kidney cancers were 13 cases (10 men, 03 women). Nephrectomy was performed in (n = 8;61.54%) cases and Histology revealed renal cell cancer in 76.92%. Testicular cancers were diag 09 cases. History of cryptorchidism was found in 4 cases, 4-year infertility in 3 cases. Orchidectomy was done in all cases. Chemotherapy in 3 cases. Conclusion: urological cancers are frequent, dominated by prostate cancer. The endemicity of bilharziasis has increased squamous cell carcinoma. T

As a dioxygenase. Ten-Eleven Translocation 2 （TET2） catalyzes subsequent steps of 5-methylcytosine （5mC） oxidation. TET2 plays a critical role in the self-renewal, proliferation, and differentiation of hei-natopoietic stem cells, but its impact on mature hematopoietic cells is not well-characterized. Here we show that Tet2 plays an essential role in osteoclastogenesis. Dele- tion of Tet2 impairs the differentiation of osteoclast precursor cells （macrophages） and their matu- ration into bone-resorbing osteoclasts in vitro. Furthermore, Tet2 / mice exhibit mild osteopetrosis, accompanied by decreased number of osteoclasts in vivo. Tet2 loss in macrophages results in the altered expression of a set of genes implicated in osteoclast differentiation, such as Cehpa, mafb, and Nfkbiz. Tet2 deletion also leads to a genome-wide alteration in the level of 5-hydroxymethylcytosine （ShmC） and altered expression of a specific subset of macrophage genes associated with osteoclast differentiation. Furthermore, Tet2 interacts with Runxl and negatively modulates its transcriptional activity. Our studies demonstrate a novel molecular mechanism controlling osteoclast differentiation and function by Tet2, that is, through interactions with Runxl and the maintenance of genomie 5hmC. Targeting Tet2 and its pathway could be a potential therapeutic strategy for the prevention and t,＇eatment of abnormal bone mass caused by the deregulation of osteoclast activities.

In this work, the hydrogen storage properties of the mg-based hydrides, i.e., mgl-xmxH2 （m=Ti, V, Fe, 0≤ x ≤ 0.1）, are studied using the Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker （KKR） calculation with the coherent potential approximation （CpA） . In particular, the nature and concentrations of the alloying elements and their effects are studied. moreover, the material＇s stability and hydrogen storage thermodynamic properties are discussed. In particular, we find that the stability and the temperature of desorption decrease without significantly affecting the storage capacities.

The Kokchetav massif of northern Kazakhstan is a typelocality of occurrence of microdiamonds in ultrahighpressure metamorphic" rocks. It records continental subduction and exhumation from depths greater than 120 km and provides unparalleled insights into mantle dynamics, global material recycling and the processes responsible for the genesis and destruction of continent. Through the support of a US Civilian Development and Research Fund, a group of Russian, US, Taiwan Residents and Kazakhstan geologists visited the reconstructed 800-m underground gallery to conduct field survey and sample collections. This gallery provides a useful geologic laboratory for international community to undertake similar geotectonic or different ecological and environmental studies.

The purpose of the present study was to examine the effects of administration of sublethal doses of carbaryl on nighttime rat pineal melatonin synthesis in the presence and absence of propranolol, a β-adrenergic receptor antagonist. Two groups of adult male albino rats were administered orally N-methyl-l-naphthylcarbamate (carbaryl) (8. 33mg/kg BW daily in corn oil) for six successive days; another two groups received corn oil *** the last day of carbaryl treatment, half of the animals received an intraperitoneal injection of propranolol (20 mg/kg body weight, one hour before lights off). The other two groups were given a saline injection. Four hours after darkness onset, pineal N-acetyltransferase (NAT) and hydroxyindole-O-methyltransferase (HIOmT) activities as well as pineal concentrations of 5-hydroxytryptophan (5HTp), serotonin (5HT),5-hydroxyindole acetic acid (5HIAA) and pineal and serum melatonin levels were measured. Nocturnal NAT activity was increased due to carbaryl administration but the pesticide was ineffective in stimulating NAT activity in rats treated with *** 5HT was decreased due to carbaryl administration but 5HTp and 5HIAA levels were unaffected. pineal and serum melatonin levels were decreased due to propranolol treatment. The results indicate that carbaryl may influence pineal NAT activity by a mechanism that involves β-adrenergic neural transmission.
