The smart city comprises various infrastructures,including health-care,transportation,manufacturing,and energy.A smart city’s Internet of Things(IoT)environment constitutes a massive IoT environment encom-passing numerous *** many devices are installed,managing security for the entire IoT device ecosystem becomes challenging,and attack vectors accessible to attackers ***,these devices often have low power and specifications,lacking the same security features as general Information Technology(IT)systems,making them susceptible to *** vulnerability is particularly concerning in smart cities,where IoT devices are connected to essential support systems such as healthcare and *** can lead to significant human and property *** rep-resentative attack that exploits IoT device vulnerabilities is the Distributed Denial of Service(DDoS)attack by forming an IoT *** a smart city environment,the formation of IoT botnets can lead to extensive denial-of-service attacks,compromising the availability of services rendered by the ***,the same IoT devices are typically employed across various infrastructures within a smart city,making them potentially vulnerable to similar *** paper addresses this problem by designing a defense process to effectively respond to IoT botnet attacks in smart city *** proposed defense process leverages the defense techniques of the MITRE D3FEND framework to mitigate the propagation of IoT botnets and support rapid and integrated decision-making by security personnel,enabling an immediate response.

potassium titanate nanostructures were synthesised by hydrothermal treatment of TiO2 （p25） in KOH and H2O2. As-produced powders were characterised by scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and nitrogen adsorption-desorption methods. Longitudinally-oriented-wire-like structures with a length up to several micrometres and diameters ranging from 10 to 30 nm were obtained. Larger size fibrous nanowires resulting from the hydrotherrnal treatment showed high affinity in adsorbing crystal violet （CV）, which was mainly due to their high surface area. The photocatalytic bleaching of CV solution revealed that the wires are photoactive under ultraviolet light irradiation. Macroporous nanowires are considered as effective adsorbents of CV, capable of photocatalvtic degradation, and they can be easily separated from the solution by settling.

Flow characteristics inside a cyclone filter were investigated by the use of computational fluid dynamics(CFD). For computations, SST model was adopted. parametric study was carried out considering the filtering performance. Revolution speeds were changed from 100 to 550 with 50 increments. A skirt is the driving source for cyclone operation. The influence of several design factors, such as the skirt length, the skirt gap and the return length to filtering performance was investigated under the particle diameter 100μm of debris material(Al, s.g.=2.7). The filtering performance was also investigated with the skirt length 28 mm changing the debris diameters from 1μm to 50μm. The flow rate of the working fluid was maintained at 0.55kg/s. It has been verified that the most influential factors to the filtering efficiencies was the skirt gap between the cyclone generator and the cyclone vessel.

This paper presents the impact of parameter fluctuation due to process variation on radio frequency （RF） stability performance of double gate tunnel FET （DG TFET）. The influence of parameter fluctuation due to process variation leads to DG TFET performance degradation. The RF figures of merit （FoM） such as cut-off frequency （ft）, maximum oscillation frequency （fmax） along with stability factor for different silicon body thickness, gate oxide thickness and gate contact alignment are obtained from extracted device parameters through numerical simulation. The impact of parameter fluctuation of silicon body thickness, gate oxide thickness and gate contact alignment was found significant and the result provides design guidelines ofDG TFET for RF applications.

Nanostructured iron oxyhydroxide（Fe OOH） thin films have been synthesized using an electrodeposition method on a nickel foam（NF） substrate and effect of air annealing temperature on the catalytic performance is studied. The as-deposited and annealed thin films were characterized by X-ray diffraction（XRD）,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XpS）, field emission scanning electron microscopy（FE-SEM） and linear sweep voltammetry（LSV） to determine their structural, morphological, compositional and electrochemical properties, respectively. The as-deposited nanostructured amorphous Fe OOH thin film is converted into a polycrystalline Fe;O;with hematite crystal structure at a high temperature. The Fe OOH thin film acts as an efficient electrocatalyst for the oxygen evolution reaction（OER） in an alkaline 1 M KOH electrolyte. The film annealed at 200 °C shows high catalytic activity with an onset overpotential of 240 m V with a smaller Tafel slope of 48 m V/dec. Additionally, it needs an overpotential of 290 mV to the drive the current density of 10 m A/cm;and shows good stability in the 1 M KOH electrolyte solution.

Aim: To investigate whether estrogen was involved in relaxation of rabbit cavernous smooth muscle. Methods: Relaxation response of the rabbit cavernous smooth muscles to 17β-estradiol (0.3, 3, 30 and 300 nmol/L) were observed in vitro. The response of the muscle strips to estrogen after incubation with either actinomycin D (10μmol/L) or L-NAME (10μmol/L) were also evaluated. Inside-out mode of patch clamp in a single smooth muscle cell was applied to investigate the Maxi-K channel activities. Results: Estrogen caused a dose-dependent relaxation of the strips precontracted with norepinephrine. The maximal response was noted about 10 minutes after treatment. The estrogen-induced relaxation was prevented by neither actinomycin D nor L-NAME, suggesting that the response was not mediated by gene transcription or nitric oxide (NO). Application of 17β-estradiol increased the Maxi-K channel activities. Conclusion: 17β-estradiol may be involved in relaxation of rabbit cavernous smooth muscles via a non genomic and NO independent mechanism. 17β-estradiol stimulates Maxi-K channel of the rabbit cavernous myocyte.

Remote sensing applications are important in the fisheries sector and efforts were on to improve the predic-tions of potential fishing zones using ocean color. The present study was aimed to investigate the phyto-plankton dynamics and their absorption properties in the coastal waters of the southeastern Arabian Sea in different seasons during the year 2010 to 2011. The region exhibited 73 genera of phytoplankton from 19 orders and 41 families. The numerical abundance of phytoplankton varied from 14.235×10^3 to 55.075×10^6 cells/L. Centric diatoms dominated in the region and the largest family identified was Thalassiosiraceae with main genera as Skeletonema spp.,planktionella *** Thalassiosira spp. Annual variations in abun-dance of phytoplankton showed a typical one-peak cycle, with the highest recorded during premonsoon season and the lowest during monsoon season. The species diversity index of phytoplankton exhibited low diversity during monsoon season. phytoplankton with pigments Chlorophylla, Chlorophyllb, Chlorophyll c, peridinin, diadinoxanthin, fucoxanthin,β-carotene and phycoerythrobilin dominated in these waters. The knowledge on phytoplankton dynamics in coastal waters of the southeastern Arabian Sea forms a key parameter in bio-optical models of pigments and productivity and for the interpretation of remotely sensed ocean color data.
