Evaluation and analysis of cutting speed, wire wear ratio, and dimensional deviation of wire electric discharge machining of super alloy Udimet-L605 using support vector machine and grey relational analysis

The current study investigates the behavior of wire electric discharge machining （WEDM） of the super alloy Udimet-L605 by employing sophisticated machine learning approaches. The experimental work was designed on the basis of the Taguchi orthogonal L27 array, consid- ering six explanatory variables and evaluating their influ- ences on the cutting speed, wire wear ratio （WWR）, and dimensional deviation （DD）. A support vector machine （SVM） algorithm using a normalized poly-kernel and a radial-basis flow kernel is recommended for modeling the wire electric discharge machining process. The grey rela- tional analysis （GRA） approach was utilized to obtain the optimal combination of process variables simultaneously, providing the desirable outcome for the cutting speed, WWR, and DD. Scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive X-ray analyses of the samples were performed for the confirmation of the results. An SVM based on the radial-basis kernel model dominated the normalized poly- kernel model. The optimal combination of process vari- ables for a mutually desirable outcome for the cutting speed, WWR, and DD was determined as Ton1, Toffa, Ip1, WT3, SV1, and WF3. The pulse-on time is the significant variable influencing the cutting speed, WWR, and DD. The largest percentage of copper （8.66%） was observed at the highest cutting speed setting 7.05% of copper at the low of the machine compared to cutting speed setting of the machine.

Nutrient Recycling from Industrial Solid Wastes and Weeds by Vermiprocessing Using Earthworms

Vermicomposting is a biotechnological process that enables the recycling of organic waste materials into manure through the combined action of earthworms and mesophilic microorganisms. In this study, a 13-week experiment was carried to vermiprocess food industry sludge mixed with different bedding materials including two weeds, water hyacinth and parthenium, as well as cow dung, in different combinations employing earthworms of the species Eisenia fetida. Eight vermibins containing one kilogram of the waste mixtures （dry weight basis） were established for vermicomposting. Vermiprocessing significantly increased nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium contents of the mixtures. However, a decrease in pH, organic carbon, and C：N ratio was observed after vermiprocessing. The heavy metal contents in the vermicomposts were higher than the initial values but within permissible limits. These results indicated that the studied wastes can be converted into good quality manure by vermiprocessing, which indicated their agricultural values as a soil conditioner if mixed with weeds in appropriate ratios.

Experimental study on mitigating wind erosion of calcareous desert sand using spray method for microbially induced calcium carbonate precipitation

Wind erosion is one of the significant natural calamities worldwide, which degrades around one-third of global land. The eroded and suspended soil particles in the environment may cause health hazards, *** and respiratory diseases, due to the presence of harmful contaminants, bacteria, and *** present study evaluates the feasibility of microbially induced calcium carbonate precipitation(MICp)technique to mitigate wind-induced erosion of calcareous desert sand(Thar desert of Rajasthan province in India). The temperature during biotreatment was kept at 36℃ to stimulate the average temperature of the Thar desert. The spray method was used for bioaugmentation of Sporosarcina(S.) pasteurii and further treatment using chemical solutions. The chemical solution of 0.25 pore volume was sprayed continuously up to 5 d, 10 d, 15 d, and 20 d, using two different concentration ratios of urea and calcium chloride dihydrate viz 2:1 and 1:1. The biotreated samples were subjected to erosion testing(in the wind tunnel) at different wind speeds of 10 m/s, 20 m/s, and 30 m/s. The unconfined compressive strength of the biocemented crust was measured using a pocket penetrometer. The variation in calcite precipitation and microstructure(including the presence of crystalline minerals) of untreated as well as biotreated sand samples were determined through calcimeter, scanning electron microscope(SEM), and energydispersive X-ray spectroscope(EDX). The results demonstrated that the erosion of untreated sand increases with an increase in wind speeds. When compared to untreated sand, a lower erosion was observed in all biocemented sand samples, irrespective of treatment condition and wind speed. It was observed that the sample treated with 1:1 cementation solution for up to 5 d, was found to effectively resist erosion at a wind speed of 10 m/s. Submerged floating tunnels(SFTs)are novel structures for transportation across long-and deep-strait *** to severe wave and current excitation as well as the effects of underwater structures and corrosion,the risk of local anchor cable failure is high,which can result in the progressive failure of the entire *** this study,experimental and numerical investigations are conducted to analyze the dynamic behavior of an SFT with different mooring styles under local cable failure.A custom-designed cable failure device and the birth-and-death element method are used to simulate cable failure(i.e.,progressive failure)via experiments and numerical simulation,respectively.A physical-scale segmental model of an SFT with different mooring styles under anchor cable failure is developed in this study.A segmental and entire-length mathematical model is developed using the ANSYS program to perform the numerical *** results of the segmental numerical and experimental models indicate good *** dynamic response of an SFT with different mooring styles under cable failure is comprehensively investigated by investigating the effects of key parameters(wave period,buoyant weight ratio,and cable failure mechanism).Moreover,the progressive failure of the SFT under cable failure is investigated via a segment model test and a numerical simulation of its entire *** present study can serve as a reference for the safer designs of the SFT mooring style.

Elastodynamic analysis of anisotropic liquid-saturated porous medium due to mechanical sources

Elastodynamic analysis of an anisotropic liquid-saturated porous medium is made to study a deformation problem of a transversely isotropic liquid-saturated porous medium due to mechanical sources. Certain physical problems are of the nature, in which the deformation takes place only in one direction, e.g., the problem relating to deformed structures and columns. In soil mechanics, an assumption of only vertical subsidence is often invoked and this leads to the one dimensional model of poroelasticity. By consid- ering a model of one-dimensional deformation of the anisotropic liquid-saturated porous medium, variations in disturbances are observed with reference to time and distance. The distributions of displacements and stresses are affected due to the anisotropy of the medium, and also due to the type of sources causing the disturbances.

Awareness that early cancer lump is painless could decrease breast cancer mortality in developing countries

There are several factors which contribute to patients' reporting late to healthcare facility even after detecting the breast lump(patient delay). Amongst these, one of the important factors in low- and middle-income countries is lack of awareness that early cancer lump is painless(ECLIps). pain is often taken as a danger sign and absence of pain is often not taken seriously. The studies have shown that up to 98% of women in lowincome countries are unaware that a painless lump could be a warning sign of early breast cancer. This fact is significant because this could be one of the prime reasons for the women having discovered a painless lump in the breast, accidentally or by breast self-examination, presume it to be harmless and don't report early to health care facility. Therefore, creating awareness about ECLIps could be an effective strategy to reduce mortality due to breast cancer in low- and middle-income countries. Moreover, unlike modifying risk factors which requires long term behavior modification, creating awareness about ECLIps is easy and cost effective.

Adherence to self-care practices, glycemic status and influencing factors in diabetes patients in a tertiary care hospital in Delhi

Segmented Summarization and Refinement:A pipeline for Long-Document Analysis on Social Media
