An analytical model for surrounding gate metal-oxide-semiconductor field effect transistors （MOS- FETs） considering quantum effects is presented. To achieve this goal, we have used a variational approach for solving the poisson and Schrodinger equations. This model is developed to provide an analytical expression for the inversion charge distribution function for all regions of the device operation. This expression is used to calculate the other important parameters like the inversion charge centroid, threshold voltage and inversion charge density. The calculated expressions for the above parameters are simple and accurate. The validity of this model was checked for the devices with different device dimensions and bias voltages. The calculated results are compared with the simulation results and they show good agreement.

Video streaming applications have grown considerably in recent *** a result,this becomes one of the most significant contributors to global internet *** to recent studies,the telecommunications industry loses millions of dollars due to poor video Quality of Experience(QoE)for *** the standard proposals for standardizing the quality of video streaming over internet service providers(ISps)is the Mean Opinion Score(MOS).However,the accurate finding of QoE by MOS is subjective and laborious,and it varies depending on the user.A fully automated data analytics framework is required to reduce the inter-operator variability characteristic in QoE *** work addresses this concern by suggesting a novel hybrid XGbStackQoE analytical model using a two-level layering *** one combines multiple Machine Learning(ML)models via a layer one Hybrid *** ML models at level one are trained using the entire training data *** level two Hybrid XGbStackQoE-Model is fitted using the outputs(meta-features)of the layer one ML *** proposed model outperformed the conventional models,with an accuracy improvement of 4 to 5 percent,which is still higher than the current traditional *** proposed framework could significantly improve video QoE accuracy.

Soil erosion is a serious problem arising from agricultural intensification, land degradation and other anthropogenic activities. Assessment of soil erosion is useful in planning and conservation works in a watershed or basin. Modelling can provide a quantitative and consistent approach to estimate soil erosion and sediment yield under a wide range of conditions. In the present study, the soil loss model, Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation （RUSLE） integrated with GIS has been used to estimate soil loss in the Nethravathi basin located in the southwestern part of India. The Nethravathi basin is a tropical coastal humid area having a drainage area of 3128 km2 up to the gauging station. The parameters of RUSLE model were estimated using remote sensing data and the erosion probability zones were determined using GIS. The estimated rainfall erosivity, soil erodibility, topographic and crop management factors range from 2948.16 to 4711.4 MJ/***-1hr-1/year, 0.10 to 0.44 t ha-1 -*** 1, 0 to 92,774 and 0 to 0.63 respectively. The results indicate that the estimated total annual potential soil loss of about 473,339 t/yr is comparable with the measured sediment of 441,870 t/yr during the water year 2002 2003. The predicted soil erosion rate due to increase in agricultural area is about 14,673.5 t/yr. The probability zone map has been derived by the weighted overlay index method indicate that the major portion of the study area comes under low probability zone and only a small portion comes under high and very high probability zone. The results can certainly aid in implementation of soil management and conservation practices to reduce the soil erosion in the Nethravathi basin.

Recently,the combination of video services and 5G networks have been gaining attention in the wireless communication *** the brisk advancement in 5G network usage and the massive popularity of threedimensional video streaming,the quality of experience(QoE)of video in 5G systems has been receiving overwhelming significance from both customers and service provider ***,effectively categorizing QoE-aware video streaming is imperative for achieving greater client *** work makes the following contribution:First,a simulation platform based on NS-3 is introduced to analyze and improve the performance of video *** simulation is formulated to offer real-time measurements,saving the expensive expenses associated with real-world ***,A valuable framework for QoE-aware video streaming categorization is introduced in 5G networks based on machine learning(ML)by incorporating the hyperparameter tuning(HpT)*** implements an enhanced hyperparameter tuning(EHpT)ensemble and decision tree(DT)classifier for video streaming *** performance of the ML approach is assessed by considering precision,accuracy,recall,and computation time metrics for manifesting the superiority of these classifiers regarding video streaming *** paper demonstrates that our ML classifiers achieve QoE prediction accuracy of 92.59%for(EHpT)ensemble and 87.037%for decision tree(DT)classifiers.

The study revealed the development of cost effective technology utilized as a practical tool for treatment of seasonal torrent and addressing erosion problems and land use *** was implemented in a small agricultural watershed located in foot hill of Shivalik,India,to assess its prediction capacity of runoff,peak runoff flow and sediment *** effective technology was evaluated at the event scale by using a database of hydrological,geomorphologic and land use data collected during a two-year *** the catchment,the gullies which are small to medium in size were treated with gully plugging by erecting loose boulder check dams and erected with different species of *** types of spur were constructed with vegetative reinforcement for channelization of stream *** sediments deposited in the first year at downstream was recorded 0.09-81.0 tons,while in the second year it was reduced up to 0.07-16.7 ***,up stream sediment deposition was recorded 1.0-72.0 tons and 0.37-13.1 tons in two consecutive *** D-50 analysis of sediment deposited was carried in three different places of torrent and it was found that deposited particle size material decreased after treatment undertaken in the torrent ***,the mechanical as well as vegetative measures helped in the channelization of water course towards the central line with the tune of 10-100 m,stabilization of torrent bed and reclamation of degraded land.

It is well known that a light spot of sub-wavelength will diverge in all directions. In this letter, A method is presented for generating sub-wavelength （0.44λ） longitudinally polarized beam, which propagates without divergence over lengths of about 2λ in free space. This is achieved by a high numerical aperture （NA） lens axicon that utilizes spherical aberration to duplicate the performance of an axicon and to create an extended focal line.

Development of a Cell-based Model to Derive Direct Runoff Hydrographs for Ungauged Mountainous basins

A model to derive direct runoff hydrograph for an ungauged basin using the physical properties of the basin is presented. The basin is divided into grid cells and canal elements. Overland flow is generated from each grid cell of the basin by application of continuous effective rainfall of I mm/hr to the basin, The flow generated is routed through downstream grid cells and the canal elements using the kinematic wave approach. The travel time for direct runoff from each grid cell to the basin outlet is calculated and the S-curve is derived for the basin. The S-curve is used to derive the unit hydrograph of a given duration for the basin. The model, referred as Cell-basin model was applied to the Upper Kotmale basin in Sri Lanka and the model predictions of direct runoff hydrographs for rainfall events agreed with the observations to a reasonable accuracy. Comparison of the unit hydrographs obtained from the model and from the conventional Snyder＇s synthetic unit hydrograph using regionalized parameters assuming the basin as an ungauged basin, with the unit hydrograph derived from the observations showed that the model predicted unit hydrograph was more suitable than that obtained by Snyder＇s method for Sri Lankan up country basins. Thus, the present model is a useful tool to obtain direct runoff hydrograph for ungauged basins.

Light metals are gaining increased attention due to ecological sustainability concerns and strict emission regulations. Magnesium(Mg)is one such metal that has the potential to replace high density components, which can reduce emissions through lightweighting. However,the mechanical properties of Mg alloys must be improved for them to become viable candidates for structural applications. To this end, the current study examines the effect of sonication vibrational amplitude on the microstructure and mechanical properties of AZ91E Mg *** molten alloys were subjected to ultrasonic treatment at a frequency of 20 kHz, 180 s of processing time and vibrational amplitudes ranging from 1.25 to 15 μm. The resultant castings were characterized using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and tensile testing. It was found that sonication with amplitudes up to 7.5 μm was able to effectively refine the secondary phases of the alloy. Similar trends were observed for grain size and yield strength. The refinement in microstructure was likely caused by the finer grain size and cavitation induced undercooling of the liquid metal. In addition, it was also noted that even the lowest level of amplitude(1.25 μm) was able to increase the density, improve the ultimate tensile strength and ductility of the castings. The tensile strength and ductility were thought to have been enhanced by ultrasonic degassing and refinement in microstructure, while the yield strength was improved through the Hall-petch effect. The results from this study provided a basis for optimizing the sonication process and promoting its use in industry. As a result, Mg alloys improved through ultrasonic processing have the potential to replace higher density components, with consequent energy efficiency and environmental and ecological benefits.
