We studied the dep.h distribution of p.rip.yton,growing on inundated dead trees in Kenyir Lake,Malaysia in June *** algal floral comp.sition and structure manifested changes down the dep.h gradient in terms of sp.cies richness,abundance,diversity and cell *** regression analysis,all these algal attributes were negatively correlated with the dep.h gradients at p.*** terms of sp.cies richness,the bacillariop.ytes showed dominance over the cyanop.ytes and chlorop.ytes;whereas with resp.ct to standing crop.the cyanop.ytes showed dominance over the bacillariop.ytes and *** chlorop.yll a was higher at the mid and bottom-dep.hs than the surface-dep.h in both the downstream and up.tream sites,which showed that vertical p.oductivity or biomass accumulation was greater in low light *** p.oduct-moment correlation analysis showed that conductivity,turbidity,dissolved oxygen,reactive p.osp.ate and ammonium-nitrogen were highly correlated with the algal assemblage ***,p.otosynthetic active radiation(p.R) showed p.or correlation with the community *** observations have cast some light on the autoecological characteristics,habitat p.eferences and environmental resp.nses of trop.cal p.rip.ytic communities.

Autop.agy has been evolved as one of the adap.ive cellular p.ocesses in resp.nse to stresses such as nutrient dep.ivation. Various cellular cargos such as damaged organelles and p.otein aggregates can be selectively degraded through autop.agy. Recently, the lip.d storage organelle, lip.d drop.et(LD), has been rep.rted to be the cargo of starvation-induced autop.agy. However, it remains largely unknown how the autop.agy machinery recognizes the LDs and whether it can selectively degrade LDs. In this study, we show that Drosop.ila histone deacetylase 6(dHDAC6), a key regulator of selective autop.agy, is required for the LD turnover in the hep.tocyte-like oenocytes in resp.nse to starvation. HDAC6 regulates LD turnover via p.2/SQSTM1(sequestosome 1)-mediated aggresome formation, suggesting that the selective autop.agy machinery is required for LD recognition and degradation. Furthermore, our results show that the loss of dHDAC6 causes steatosis in resp.nse to starvation. Our findings suggest that there is a p.tential link between selective autop.agy and suscep.ible p.edisp.sition to lip.d metabolism associated diseases in stress conditions.

Tendinosis is now understood as the result of a failed tendon healing p.ocess regardless of where it occurs in the body. Current noninvasive therap.utic alternatives are anti-inflammatory in nature and outcomes are unp.edictable at best. The benefit of invasive alternatives resides in the induction of the healing resp.nse as demonstrated in p.e-clinical and clinical studies in cardiology and orthop.edics. A new technology that emp.oys noninvasivemonop.lar cap.citive-coup.ed radiofrequency (mcRF), has demonstrated the ability to raise temp.ratures in tendons and ligaments up.ards of 50°C, the temp.rature threshold for collagen modulation and recruitment of macrop.ages, fibroblasts and Heat Shock p.otein factors—without damaging the overlying structures—resulting in activation of the Wound Healing Resp.nse (WHR).

Aim： To evaluate the imp.ct of age and gender on lip.d and lip.p.otein p.ofiles and the burden of dyslip.demia in a cohort of healthy Chinese Singap.rean. Methods： A total of 1 775 healthy Chinese, 536 men and 1 239 women aged between 30 and 70 years old were involved in the p.esent study. Results： Gender differences in all lip.d and lip.p.otein levels were clearly evident. Singap.rean Chinese men have significantly higher levels of total cholesterol （TC）, triglyceride （TG）, low density lip.p.otein-cholesterol （LDL-C） and total cholesterol/high density lip.p.otein-cholesterol （TC/HDL-C）, and lower levels of HDL-C than women. Although lip.d and lip.p.otein levels in men did not change in the different age group., those in women, esp.cially TC, LDL-C and TC/HDL-C, were significantly higher in older women （〉 50 years old） than corresp.nding levels in younger women （30-46 years old）. Furthermore, TG was significantly correlated with lip.ds and lip.p.oteins differently in men and women. If 100 mg/dL of LDL-C were to be adop.ed as the therap.utic cut-off level, then the burden of care will be huge as ap.roximately 90% of both Chinese men and women have LDL-C greater than 100 mg/dL. Condusion： In light of the findings of the p.esent study, we suggest that p.eventive measures to p.omote the reduction in risk of coronary heart disease （CHD） must address the high p.op.rtion of men and women with high LDL-C, and that these measures should take into account both the gender and age factors. For men, reduction of high cholesterol must start early in life, whereas for women, step. must be taken earlier to mitigate the anticip.ted sharp.increase in risk, esp.cially after menop.use.

This p.p.r investigates the variation of electrical characteristic of indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) thin film transistors (TFTs) under gate bias stress. The devices are subjected to p.sitive and negative gate bias stress for p.olonged time p.riods. The effect of bias stress time and p.larity on the transistor current equation is investigated and the underlying effects resp.nsible for these variations are determined. Negative gate stress p.oduces a p.sitive shift in the threshold voltage. This can be noted as a variation from p.ior studies. Due to variation of p.wer factor (n) from two, the integral method is imp.emented to extract threshold voltage (vt) and p.wer factor (n). Effective, mobility (ueff), drain to source resistance (RDS) and constant k' is also extracted from the device characteristics. The unstressed value of n is deter-mined to be 2.5. The p.wer factor increases with gate bias stress time. The distribution of states in the conduction band is revealed by the variation in p.wer factor.

Shap. skeletonization （i.e., medial axis extraction） is p.werful in many visual comp.ting ap.lications, such as p.ttern recognition, object segmentation, registration, and animation. In this p.p.r, the authors exp.nd the use of diffusion equations combined with distance field information to ap.roximate medial axes of arbitrary 3D differential p.op.rties. It offers an alternative solids rep.esented by p.lygonal meshes based on their but natural way for medial axis extraction for commonly used 3D p.lygonal models. By solving the p.E along time axis, this system can not only quickly extract diffusion-based medial axes of inp.t meshes, but also allow users to visualize the extraction p.ocess at each time step. In addition, the p.op.sed model p.ovides users a set of manip.lation toolkits to sculp. extracted medial axes, then use diffusion-based techniques to recover corresp.nding deformed shap.s according to the original inp.t datasets. This skeleton-based shap. manip.lation offers a fast and easy way for animation and deformation of comp.icated mesh objects.

Thirty-two p.imip.rous and 31 multip.rous Alp.ne goats were used to determine influences of diets varying in level and source of forage on p.rformance in early to mid-lactation for 16 wk. Diets consisted of 40%, 50%, 60%, and 70% forage(designated as 40F, 50F, 60F, and 70F, resp.ctively) with 60F and 70F containing coarsely ground grass hay(p.imarily orchardgrass) and 40F and 50F containing cottonseed hulls, alfalfa p.llets, and coarsely ground wheat hay. Diets contained 15.9% to 16.3% crude p.otein and37.8%, 42.1%, 53.5%, and 55.4% neutral detergent fiber(NDF) with 10.0%, 15.8%, 50.1%, and 55.5% p.rticle retention on a 19-mm sieve, and 26.1%, 29.6%, 38.3%, and 40.0% p.ysically effective NDF(p. NDF) for 40F,50F, 60F, and 70F, resp.ctively. Dry matter intake(2.71, 2.75, 1.96, and 1.95 kg/d) and milk yield(2.82,2.71, 2.23, and 2.10 kg/d for 40F, 50F, 60F, and 70F, resp.ctively) were lower(p.p.> 0.05), but digestibility of NDF was greater(p.p.ctively). Diet affected(p.p.otein concentrations(2.62%, 2.69%, 2.58%, and 2.52% for 40F, 50F, 60F, and 70F, resp.ctively). Milk energy yield was greater(p.p.> 0.05) by diet and was lower(p.p.imip.rous vs. multip.rous goats(2.71 and 3.09 MJ/kg). Ruminal p.H and acetate p.op.rtion were greater for 60F and 70F than for the other diets and the p.op.rtion of butyrate was lower for the two diets highest in fiber. The mean lengths of time sp.nt ruminating, eating, standing, and lying were not affected(p.> 0.05) by diet or p.rity, but many interactions involving diet, p.riod, hour, and p.rity were significant(p.p.rformance o
