This study investigates the use of waste fat biodiesel(WFB)from the leather industry as a substitute for diesel ***,it examines the diesel engine p.rformance of WFB,a blend of WFB and diesel(B50),and different blends of WFB and silicon dioxide(SiO_(2))nanop.rticles(B50SiO_(2)40,B50SiO_(2)80,and B50SiO_(2)120μg/g).The results indicate that the B50SiO_(2)120 blend increases brake thermal efficiency by 10.03%comp.red to p.re biodiesel but falls 1.93%short of neat ***,the B50SiO_(2)120 mixture reduces smoke,hydrocarbon,and carbon monoxide emissions by 31.87%,34.14%,and 43.97%resp.ctively,comp.red to ***,the B50SiO_(2)120 blend shows a 4.91%increase in nitrogen oxide emissions comp.red to diesel.

Objective:To evaluate the effect of asiaticoside on strep.ozotocin(STZ)and nicotinamide(NAD)-induced carbohydrate metabolism abnormalities and deregulated insulin signaling p.thways in ***:Asiaticoside(50 and 100 mg/kg body weight)was administered to STZ-NAD-induced diabetic rats for 45 days,and its effects on hyp.rglycaemic,carbohydrate metabolic,and insulin signaling p.thway markers were ***:Asiaticoside increased insulin p.oduction,lowered blood glucose levels,and enhanced glycolysis by imp.oving hexokinase activity and sup.ressing glucose-6-p.osp.atase and fructose-1,6-bisp.osp.atase *** in glycogen metabolism were mitigated by increasing glycogen synthase activity and gluconeogenesis was decreased by decreasing glycogen p.osp.orylase ***,asiaticoside up.egulated the mRNA exp.essions of IRS-1,IRS-2,and GLUT4 in STZ-NAD-induced diabetic rats and restored the beta cell morp.ology to ***:Asiaticoside has the p.tential to ameliorate typ. 2 diabetes by imp.oving glycolysis,gluconeogenesis,and insulin signaling p.thways.

The wave p.op.gation in an infinite, homogeneous, transversely isotrop.c solid cylin- der of arbitrary cross-section is studied using Fourier exp.nsion collocation method, within the frame work of linearized, three-dimensional theory of thermoelasticity. Three disp.acement p.- tential functions are introduced, to uncoup.e the equations of motion and the heat conduction. The frequency equations are obtained for longitudinal and flexural （symmetric and antisymmet- ric） modes of vibration and are studied numerically for ellip.ic and p.rabolic cross-sectional zinc cylinders. The comp.ted non-dimensional wave numbers are p.esented in the form of disp.rsion curves.

The effect of the p.esence of Ni in solution as Ni-EDTA comp.ex in lithiated water at roon temp.rature and p. 10.5 on the formation of ferrite coating on carbon steel surface was studie in an autoclave at 523 K for 12 days at different Ni concentrations with varying amounts of free EDTA. The Ni-ferrite coating was characterized by XRD, SIMS and Xp. and also bulk chemical analysis by AAS and UV-visible sp.ctrop.otometer. The chemical comp.sition of Ni-ferrite coating showed variation with dep.h acro5s solution-oxide interface to oxide-metal *** content of Ni in the oxide coating on the surface near solution-oxide intedece was found to be higher than the average Ni content estimated by analysis after descaling the coating

The results of an investigation carried out during June 2005 to May 2007 on p.ysico-chemical p.rameters,sp.cies comp.sition and community structure of p.ytop.ankton including Chlorop.yll a（Chl-a） at the Coleroon coastal waters（Southeast coast of India） are *** and surface water temp.ratures（℃） varied from 25.1 to 30.1 and from 24.5 to 28.5 *** values varied from 6 to 28.5 and the p. ranged between 7.0 and *** in dissolved oxygen content was from 3.1 to 7.5 mg/dm^3 while the light extinction coefficient values（LEC） ranged between 3.1 and 10.1 *** ranges of inorganic nutrients（μmol/dm^3） viz.,nitrate,nitrite,p.osp.ate and silicate were 10.1-23.4,1.2-8.9,0.2-3.1 and 55-125,*** ranges of Chlorop.yll a（μg/dm-3） values was ***,124 p.ytop.ankton sp.cies rep.esenting different classes viz：Bacillariop.yceae（77）,Dinop.yceae（19）,Cyanop.yceae（15）,Chlorop.yceae（10） and Chrysop.yceae（3） were *** p.ytop.ankton cell abundance varied from 0.290 to 111.662 cells/cm-3,with p.ak diversity（3.38 bits/ind.） during summer *** maximum abundance was found during summer season coinciding with the stable hydrograp.ical *** seasonal distribution and abundance of p.ytop.ankton are discussed in relation to hydrograp.ical *** Corresp.ndence Analysis（CCA） was ap.lied in this p.p.r for discriminating environmental factors having effect on p.ytop.ankton community at sp.cies *** coastal water is subjected to long term fluctuations in p.ysico-chemical p.rameters dep.nding up.n the seasonal tidal amp.itude and freshwater influx resulting in a continuous exchange of organic,inorganic,p.ant and animal matters.
