Free and liposome form of gallic acid improves calvarial bone wound healing in Wistar rats

Objective:To evaluate the effect of free and liposome form of gallic acid on bone regeneration in critical defects in Wistar ***:Thirty-two female Wistar rats were divided into four study groups:group 1,negative control;group 2,positive control;group 3,gallic acid powder;group 4,gallic acid liposome.A critical-sized defect was created in all *** 2 to 4 had xenograft,autograft and membrane placement while negative control rats did not receive any *** defect area was sutured and rats were kept alive for 30 *** the end of the study,a bone specimen including the defect area was removed from *** specimens were evaluated under the stereomicroscope,then underwent histological *** cell counts,osteoblast,osteoclast counts,receptor activator of nuclear factorκ-B(RANKL),osteoprotegerin(OPG),runt-related transcription factor 2(Runx2),bone morphogenetic protein-2(BMP-2),and alkaline phosphatase were ***:The biggest unhealed defect area was observed in the negative control group and the smallest was observed in the gallic acid liposome *** were no differences between the positive control group *** gallic acid powder group and the gallic acid powder group *** gallic acid liposome *** severity of inflammation was the highest in the negative control group and the lowest in the gallic acid liposome group with significant differences between the *** groups had similar osteoblast counts while osteoclast counts were the highest in the positive control *** acid groups had a lower number of osteoclasts compared with the positive control ***2 and alkaline phosphatase levels were similar in the groups while OPG and BMP-2 levels exhibited a significant increase compared with the negative control group and the positive control *** was similar in the negative control group,the positive control group,and the gallic acid powder groups but decreased in the gallic acid liposome

The main targets set for economic growth in the World Bank＇s 1990 report is to provide a permanent and sustainable poverty eradication strategies on the development. Used for this purpose today, the most effective strategy comes at the beginning of micro-credit system. Microcredit, in particular in the area of the individuals, and its opportunities to increase the credit to the users of the production process and ensure active participation in the society starting from the women＇s economic initiatives, but it cannot be considered as a micro-economic factors in the economy to facilitate an effective financial mechanism. Many studies in the literature have revealed that women＇s contribution to family income of households in poverty has created an important support. In addition, micro-credit system encourages women to create their own jobs, as the GNP （Gross National Product） of the countries contribution to increase employment opportunities. There are opinions arguing that, making use of the contact with communities in the potential female workforce satisfactory for women to create job opportunities to gain income is able to provide initial capital to the existing banking system, because in many countries＇ negative socio-cultural conditions, competing with men is much difficult. Micro-credit system, in the respect of changing countries socio-cultural and socio-economic structures is an important contribution. Microfinance occurred in recent years by rapid developments in Turkey since 2000, progress has been very professional. In this study, marine casualties which are recorded Global Integrated Shipping Information System （GISIS） in 2007-2011, result in death, injury, economic loss and environmental pollution are discussed. The studied types of ships are container, bulk dry, general cargo, roro, ropax, passenger and tankers. The information contained in GISIS system is textual format and it is difficult to systematically analyze this information. For this reason, by creating a new data base, which is Microsoft Excel-based, ship accidents are classified according to name, flag state and type of ship, type, size and coordinates of the accidents that are evaluated by entering the Geographical Information System（GIS）. In the study, all marine areas having been separated into ranges in ArcGIS 10 program, the marine areas with intensive marine accidents have been determined and marine accident chart has been created. As a result of the study, high risk marine areas are Strait of Dover and Hamburg in the North Europe, Belfast Shores in Ireland, the seas surrounding Great Belt, Kattegat and Copenhagen in Baltic Sea, In far east, Kanmon Strait, Urage Channel and Bungo Strait in Japan, Shanghai, Ningbo and Hong Kong in China.

In the West in particular, the vast majority of gastric cancer(GC) patients present with advanced-stage disease. Although combination chemotherapy is stillthe most important component of treatment for these patients, it confers a modest survival advantage. Recently, increased knowledge of the key molecular signaling pathways involved in gastric carcinogenesis has led to the discovery of specific molecular-targeted therapeutic agents. Some of these agents such as trastuzumab and ramucirumab have changed the treatment paradigm for this disease. In this paper, we will summarize the current clinical status of targeted drug therapy in the management of GC.

10 different species of water mites which are Georgella helvetica, Eylais extendens, Hydrachna globose, Hydrachna prosifera, Hydrachna skorikowi, Hydrodroma despiciens, Hydryphantes dispar, Limnesia fulgida, Eylais setosa, Hydryphantes flexuosus were used in this study. The total masses of these species were measured as mg with the use of an elemental analyzer to calculate the percentage of the organic components of their structures. The achieved values were assessed separately for each species and element with the interpolation method. Out of these organic elements, the amount of C with an approximately value of 50% was the highest for all species while the amounts of S which was approximately 1% was determined as the lowest for almost all species. The observed values were discussed in terms of the systematic of water mites.

Stenting for the Management of Posttracheostomy Tracheomalacia: Case Report

In patients who undergo prolonged endotracheal intubation, tracheostomy is performed to prevent the tracheal and laryngeal trauma which may be caused by the intubation tube. In this report, a patient who was intubated after a cerebrovascular embolism and required a tracheostomy for 6 months due to decannulation problems is presented. The patient subsequently developed a tracheomalacia. A stent was inserted and seen to provide functional support. Upon removal of the stent, the tracheomalacia improved. Although surgical therapy is claimed to provide higher success rate, stenting may also be a viable option for the management of tracheomalacia and improve the quality of life in patients with good general condition.

Objective: To examine the efficacy of gabapentin for the treatment of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD). Design: A retrospective chart review. Settings: Tertiary care geriatric psychiatry inpatient unit. Participants: 230 patients with BPSD. Measurements: The socio-demographic information, type of behaviors, co-morbid psychiatric and medical diagnoses, daily doses of medications and side-effects were recorded. Results: Of the 230 patients, 22 were treated with gabapentin. Twenty of these patients were on a combination of gabapentin and an antipsychotic medication while two patients were treated with gabapentin monotherapy. Eighteen of the 20 patients in the combination group tolerated the treatments with little or no side effects as did the two patients in the monotherapy group. Conclusions: Gabapentin may be a safe option for the treatment of BPSD in combination with antipsychotic medications. Gabapentin may also be effective as monotherapy in certain patients with BPSD.

The Turkish economy has been facing account deficit problems in recent years and tourism revenues play an important role in financing this deficit. Tourism revenues are affected by exchange rate volatility and the effects of exchange rate volatility on tourism revenues need to be researched. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of exchange rate volatility on tourism revenues. These effects were analyzed by using multivariate co-integration model and monthly data from January 2003 to December 2011. Findings suggest that exchange rate volatility has a negative effect on tourism revenues. Additionally, a weak relationship was detected in the long term between exchange rate and tourism revenues.

Idiopathic granulomatous mastitis is a rare chronic inflammatory lesion of the breast that can clinically and radiographically mimic breast carcinoma. The most common clinical presentation is an unilateral, discrete breast mass, nipple retraction and even a sinus formation often associated with an inflammation of the overlying skin. The etiology of idiopathic granulomatous mastitis is still obscure. Its treatment remains controversial. The cause may be the autoimmune process, infection, a chemical reaction associated with oral contraceptive pills, or even lactation. Various factors, including hormonal imbalance, autoimmunity, unknown microbiological agents, smoking and α 1-antitrypsin deficiency have been suggested to play a role in disease aetiology. In this review, causing factors in the aetiology of idiopathic granulomatous mastitis are reviewed in detail.
