The world-wide move away from the didactic teaching of single disciples to integrated Problem-based learning (PBl) curricula in medical education has posed challenges for the basic sciences. In this paper we identify two major challenges. The first challenge is the need to describe a core disciplinary curriculum that can be articulated and mapped onto the new structure. In this editorial,we reviewed the article by Fadlallah et al that was recently published in the World Journal of Clinical *** article provided a comprehensive and in-depth view of the management and treatment of colorectal cancer(CRC),one of the leading causes of cancer-related morbidity and mortality *** article analyzed the therapeutic modalities and their sequencing,focusing on total neoadjuvant therapy for locally advanced rectal *** highlighted the role of immunotherapy in tumors with high microsatellite instability or deficient mismatch repair,addressing recent advances that have improved prognosis and therapeutic response in localized and metastatic *** in surgical techniques,advanced radiotherapy,and systemic agents targeting specific mutational profiles are also discussed,reflecting on how they revolutionized clinical *** tumor DNA has emerged as a promising tool for detecting minimal residual disease,prognosis,and therapeutic monitoring,solidifying its role in precision *** review emphasized the importance of technological and therapeutic advancements in improving clinical outcomes and personalizing CRC treatment.

Superconducting materials with high critical temperature have the potential to revolutionize many fields,including military,electronic communications,and power ***,scientists around the world have been tirelessly working with the ultimate goal of achieving high-temperature *** 2023,a preprint by lee et *** South Korea claimed the discovery of ultra-high-temperature superconductivity with a critical temperature of up to 423 K in Cu-doped lead-apatite(lK-99)(arXiv:2307.12008,arXiv:2307.12037),which caused a worldwide sensation and ***,the electronic structures,phonon dynamics,and electrical conductivities of lK-99 and its parent compound lead-apatite have been calculated using first-principles *** results show that the lead-apatite compound and the lK-99 compound are insulator and half-metal *** flat band characteristic is consistent with previous *** electrical conductivity of the lK-99 compound shows two extreme points,and the electrical conductivity along the C-axis increases significantly after 400 *** phonon dispersion spectra of the compounds were investigated,demonstrating their dynamic instability.

The potential of acoustic signatures to be used for State-of-Charge(SoC)estimation is demonstrated using artificial neural network regression *** approach represents a streamlined method of processing the entire acoustic waveform instead of performing manual,and often arbitrary,waveform peak *** applications where computational economy is prioritised,simple metrics of statistical significance are used to formally identify the most informative waveform *** alone can be exploited for SoC *** is further shown that signal portions representing both early and late interfacial reflections can correlate highly with the SoC and be of predictive value,challenging the more common peak selection methods which focus on the *** later echoes represent greater through-thickness coverage,and are intuitively more information-rich,their presence is not *** waveform treatment offers a more robust approach to correlating acoustic signatures to electrochemical *** is further demonstrated that transformation into the frequency domain can reduce the dimensionality of the problem significantly,while also improving the estimation *** importantly,it is shown that acoustic signatures can be used as sole model inputs to produce highly accurate SoC estimates,without any complementary voltage *** makes the method suitable for applications where redundancy and diversification of SoC estimation approaches is *** is obtained experimentally from a 210 mAh liCoO2/graphite pouch *** estimation errors as low as 0.75%are achieved on a SoC scale of 0-100%.

A Monte-Carlo generator Photon Jets （MCgPJ） to simulate Bhabha scattering as well as production of two charged muons and two photons events is discussed. The theoretical precision of the cross sections with radiative corrections （RC） is estimated to be smaller than 0.2%. The Next leading Order （NlO） radiative corrections proportional to α are treated exactly, whereas the all logarithmically enhanced contributions, related to photon jets emitted in the collinear region, are taken into account in frame of the Structure Function approach. Numerous tests of the MCgPJ as well as a detailed comparison with other MC generators are presented.

A new sterol, ergosta-8(9),22-diene-3,5,6,7-tetraol(3β,5α,6β,7α,22e)(A) together with three known sterols: 3β, 5α,6β-trihydroxyergosta-7,22-diene (B), 3β-hydroxy-5α,8α- epidioxyer-gosta-6,22-diene (C) and ergosterol (D) were isolated from the mycelia of an unidentified endophytic fungus separated from Castaniopsis fissa (chestnut tree). Compound A exhibited potent selective cytotoxicity against Bel-7402, NCI4460 and l-02 cell lines with IC50 values 8.445, 5.03, 13.621 μg/ml, respectively.

We have comparatively studied the addition of Cr and V in *** and V content were changed by means of insets placed in the Ti ***,compositional and electrical analyses of different series of thin films,made by XRF, XRD,are *** characterization not only showed that Cr doped layers were very sensitive to ethanol within a useful range for applications,but also allowed to verify that the electrical behaviour is dependent on the structure of film. Finally,the Cr and V concentrations that gives the best results in terms of sensing performances has been determined and a correlation between structural and electrical measurement has been evidenced.

Precipitation condition and nucleation of Ti2O3 during solidification of clean steel have been studied. The behavior of Ti2O3 during solidification as well as possibility of using Ti2O3 to refine as-cast grains as heterogeneous nucleation sites is discussed. It is shown that Ti2O3 can be formed provided that the steelmaking and solidification process is controlled strictly. And inoculating clean steel with Ti2O3 is an effective way to refine as-cast grains.
