Vertical greening systems(VGS)are promising green infrastructure(GI)techniques for addressing urban resilience issues,like mitigating high temperatures and air *** research aims to develop a conceptual framework to help designers better understand the VGS’effects on buildings and urban areas,focusing on thermal performance and air quality improvement in hot,humid *** framework consists of three steps:(1)Identifying climate problems that hinder the improvement of built environment resilience in hot climates;(2)Selecting VGS as a type of GI that can enhance urban resilience;(3)Identifying the common key factors that impact both thermal performance and air quality while developing VGS at the urban and building *** results show that the framework can be customized to suit hot climate ***,when applying VGS in built environment with specified climate conditions,the construction of VGS,greenery coverage ratio,plant species,facade orientation,and VGS formation have the most significant influences on their environmental ***,the air gap between VGS and the facade has optimal performance in hot,humid *** paper concludes with some recommendations for future research and practice on VGSs in hot and humid climates.

The Deep Neural Networks(DNN)training process is widely affected by backdoor *** backdoor attack is excellent at concealing its identity in the DNN by performing well on regular samples and displaying malicious behavior with data poisoning *** state-of-art backdoor attacks mainly follow a certain assumption that the trigger is sample-agnostic and different poisoned samples use the same *** overcome this problem,in this work we are creating a backdoor attack to check their strength to withstand complex defense strategies,and in order to achieve this objective,we are developing an improved Convolutional Neural Network(ICNN)model optimized using a Gradient-based Optimization(GBO)(ICNN-GBO)*** the ICNN-GBO model,we are injecting the triggers via a steganography and regularization *** are generating triggers using a single-pixel,irregular shape,and different *** performance of the proposed methodology is evaluated using different performance metrics such as Attack success rate,stealthiness,pollution index,anomaly index,entropy index,and *** the CNN-GBO model is trained with the poisoned dataset,it will map the malicious code to the target *** proposed scheme’s effectiveness is verified by the experiments conducted on both the benchmark datasets namely CIDAR-10 andMSCELEB 1M *** results demonstrate that the proposed methodology offers significant defense against the conventional backdoor attack detection frameworks such as STRIP and Neutral cleanse.

Novel self assembly behavior for γ-alumina nanoparticles

In this study, self assembly behavior was induced for γ-alumina nanoparticles by adsorption of dimethyl disulfide. Following this trend, we have developed a chemical process to obtain ＇y-alumina in the nano scale. Scanning electron microscopy images of the prepared γ-alumina showed big and strong agglomeration of the nanoparticles indicating that these nanoparticles have strong surface forces. Transmission electron microscopy images confirmed that the γ-alumina nanoparticles 3-7 nm in size were converted to uniform spherical shape in the size range of 1-2 mm after shaking with dimethyl disulfide in the presence of n-hexane at room temperature. This phenomenon did not appear in the case of alumina in the micro scale. The surface properties of the prepared γ-alumina in the nano scale were characterized and compared with the γ-alumina in the micro scale by using low temperature nitrogen adsorption-desorption system, indicating that the specific surface area of the prepared γ-alumina nanoparticles is larger than that of the γ-alumina in the micro scale. Furthermore, micro- and meso-pores were observed for the if-alumina nanoparticles while only mesoporous structure was detected for the γ-alumina in the micro scale. These experimental results suggested that the self assembly behavior of the γ-alumina nanoparticles may be due to the selective adsorption ofdimethyl disulfide in the micropores of these nanoparticles to act as bridge linking the nanoparticles.

An analysis for a conceptual design of a thermal power plant (with a power capacity of 1 GW) is provided. This power plant can help in meeting the expected increase in the electric demand for Oman’s dominant power system (2.4 GW between 2018 and 2025). A necessary fluid mass flow rate of 834.1 kg/s was predicted. The overall energy conversion efficiency (output useful electricity divided by input heat) was estimated to be 34.7%. The needed thermal energy is not restricted to a specific source, and solar heating is an option for supplying the needed heat. The power plant design is based on using a steam-turbine section, which may be composed of a single large steam turbine having a mechanical power output of 1115 MW;or composed of a group of smaller steam turbines. The analysis is based on applying energy balance equations under certain assumptions (such as neglecting changes in potential energy). The thermal analysis was aided by web-based tool for calculating needed properties of the working medium, which is water, at different stages in the power plant.

There are several challenges that hospitals are facing according to the emergency department(ED).Themain two issues are department capacity and lead ***,the lack of consensus on performance criteria to evaluateEDincreases the complication of this ***,this study aims to evaluate the efficiency of the emergency department in 20 Egyptian hospitals(12 private and 8 general hospitals)based on 13 performance *** research suggests an integrated evaluation model assess ED under a framework of plithogenic *** proposed framework addressed uncertainty and ambiguity in information with an efficient manner via presenting the evaluation expression by plithogenic *** Envelopment Analysis(DEA)technique is used in order to measure the efficiency of the emergency department of 20 hospitals according to the number of treated patients and effect on patient’s life quality based on 11 *** the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP),the weight of efficiency factors will be measured based on neutrosophic linguistic scale pairwise *** operations provide more accurate aggregation result according to contradiction degree between criteria *** results show that ten of the hospitals are providing efficient service in their emergency department,while the other ten are less *** analysis of the results shows that 58%of private hospitals emergency department is operating efficiently,while the efficient general hospitals represent 38%.
