This present study includes twelve species that represent the Ficus genus,namely;aspera,carica,tinctoria ***,hirta,hispida,neriifolia,palmata,pumila,racemosa,septica,sur,and sycomorus,belonging to the Moraceae *** species samples were collected from various locations in *** study focused on the anatomical and molecular characteristics of mature foliage *** the identification and classification of taxa are highly dependent on the anatomical features of leaves,the anatomical characteristics were recorded in the form of a comparison between the examined plants in the data *** study aims to contribute to the identification of the studied species based on the anatomical details of the matured *** characterization includes the variations in upper and lower epidermal layers that are covered by a thin or thick cuticle;the number of palisade and spongy layers;crystals;secretory elements;lithocysts;the midrib zone has parenchyma associated with mechanical tissue,vascular system,and investigation of trichomes;on the other hand,in the current study,the phylogenetic analysis was conducted by using the ITS and 5.8 S *** the analysis of all the available data,it could be stated that there is an overall agreement with the anatomical character dendrogram.

Application of microalgal-ZnO-NPs for reusing polyester/cotton blended fabric wastes after modification by cellulases enzymes

Polyester/cotton(PET/C)blended fabric wastes are produced daily in huge amounts,which constitutes an economic loss and an environmental threat if it is not reused *** textile waste recycling technologies put much effort into developing fabric materials with unique properties,such as bioactivity or new optical goods based on modern technologies,especially *** this study,zinc oxide nanoparticles(ZnO-NPs)were biosynthesized using the aqueous extract of Dunaliella *** immobilized on PET/C waste fabrics after enzymatically activated with *** produced Dunaliella-ZnO-NPs(10–20 nm with a spherical shape)were characterized by High-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM),Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),X-Ray diffraction analysis(XRD),and Scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray analyzer(SEM-EDAX),and some functional groups,such as CH,CO,NH,and CN(due to the presence of carboxyl,proteins and hydroxyl groups),were detected,revealing the biosynthesis of *** analysis showed that the resulting ZnO-NPS had potent antimicrobial effects,Ultraviolet(UV)protection capabilities,and no cytotoxic effects on the normal human fibroblast cell line(BJ1).On the other hand,enzymatic treatments of PET/C fabric waste with cellulases enhanced the immobilization of biosynthetic nanoparticles on their *** PET/C fabrics loaded with Dunaliella-ZnO-NPs showed antibacterial and UV protection capabilities making them an eco-friendly and cost-effective candidate for numerous *** applications can include the manufacture of active packaging devices,wastewater treatment units,and many other environmental applications.

Analysis of moose-vehicle collisions countermeasures in northern climates

This research investigates the reliability of two measures intended to reduce moose-vehicle collisions(MVCs):continuous lighting and clearing/grubbing of roadway *** analyses and a combined regression analysis were conducted to measure the effects of several combinations of variables on MVC rates,including clearing and grubbing,continuous lighting,clearing without grubbing,moose population,precipitation,snowfall,and maximum snow *** corridor improvement projects were analyzed based on the variables *** previous studies,it has been hypothesized that MVC rates are influenced by environmental conditions such as snowfall and *** Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities(DOT&PF)has performed many studies on MVCs along several *** corridors showed a significant drop in the number of MVCs after the installation of continuous *** results show there is a consistent drop in MVCs after clearing and grubbing,with the exception of one *** combined clearing/grubbing and continuous lighting projects also resulted in a consistent drop in *** projects with clearing and grubbing as a component had varying trends in MVCs,which may indicate that DOT&PF Maintenance and Operations performed clearing of re-vegetated areas,or that older growth is less of an attractant for moose.

Sulforaphane as a Promising Natural Molecule for Cancer Prevention and Treatment

Tumorigenicity-inhibiting compounds have been identifled in our daily *** example,isothiocyanates(ITCs)found in cruciferous vegetables were reported to have potent cancer=prevention *** best characterized ITC is sulforaphane(SF).SF can simultaneously modulate multiple cellular targets involved in carcinogenesis,including(1)modulating carcinogen-metabolizing enzymes and blocking the action of mutagens;(2)inhibition of cell proliferation and induction of apoptosis;and(3)inhibition of neo-angiogenesis and *** targets cancer stem cells through modulation of nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB),Sonic hedgehog(SHH),epithelial-mesenchymal transition,and Wnt/βcatenin *** chemotherapy/SF combination was tested in several studies and resulted in favorable *** its favorable toxicological profile,SF is a promising agent in cancer prevention and/or *** this article,we discuss the human metabolism of SF and its effects on cancer prevention,treatment,and targeting cancer stem cells,as well as providing a brief review of recent human clinical trials on SF.

A Storage Optimization Scheme for Blockchain Transaction Databases

As the typical peer-to-peer distributed networks, blockchain systemsrequire each node to copy a complete transaction database, so as to ensure newtransactions can by verified independently. In a blockchain system (e.g., bitcoinsystem), the node does not rely on any central organization, and every node keepsan entire copy of the transaction database. However, this feature determines thatthe size of blockchain transaction database is growing rapidly. Therefore, with thecontinuous system operations, the node memory also needs to be expanded tosupport the system running. Especially in the big data era, the increasing networktraffic will lead to faster transaction growth rate. This paper analyzes blockchaintransaction databases and proposes a storage optimization scheme. The proposedscheme divides blockchain transaction database into cold zone and hot zone usingexpiration recognition method based on Least Recently Used (LRU) algorithm. Itcan achieve storage optimization by moving unspent transaction outputs outsidethe in-memory transaction databases. We present the theoretical analysis on theoptimization method to validate the effectiveness. Extensive experiments showour proposed method outperforms the current mechanism for the blockchaintransaction databases.

Applying and Comparison of Chaotic-Based Permutation Algorithms for Audio Encryption

This research presents,and claries the application of two permutation algorithms,based on chaotic map systems,and applied to a le of speech *** are the Arnold cat map-based permutation algorithm,and the Baker’s chaotic map-based permutation *** algorithms are implemented on the same speech signal ***,both the premier and the encrypted le histograms are documented and *** speech signal amplitude values with time signals of the original le are recorded and plotted against the encrypted and decrypted ***,the original le is plotted against the encrypted le,using the spectrogram frequencies of speech signals with the signal *** permutation algorithms are used to shufe the positions of the speech les signals’values without any changes,to produce an encrypted speech le.A comparative analysis is introduced by using some of sundry statistical and experimental analyses for the procedures of encryption and decryption,e.g.,the time of both procedures,the encrypted audio signals histogram,the correlation coefcient between specimens in the premier and encrypted signals,a test of the Spectral Distortion(SD),and the Log-Likelihood Ratio(LLR)*** outcomes of the different experimental and comparative studies demonstrate that the two permutation algorithms(Baker and Arnold)are sufcient for providing an efcient and reliable voice signal encryption ***,the Arnold’s algorithm gives better results in most cases as compared to the results of Baker’s algorithm.

BACKgROUND No effective treatment guarantees full recovery from osteoarthritis(OA),and few therapies have *** To determine if bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMMSCs)and hyaluronic acid(HA)treat ankle OA in Wistar *** BMMSCs were characterized using flow cytometry with detection of surface markers[cluster of differentiation 90(CD90),CD105,CD34,and CD45].Fifty male Wistar rats were divided into five groups of 10 rats each:group I,saline into the right tibiotarsal joint for 2 days;group II,monosodium iodate(MIA)into the same joint;groups III,MIA+BMMSCs;group IV,MIA+HA;and group V,MIA+BMMSCs+***(1×106 cells/rat),HA(75μg/rat),and BMMSCs(1×106 cells/rat)alongside HA(75μg/rat)were injected intra-articularly into the tibiotarsal joint of the right hind leg at the end of weeks 2,3,and 4 after the MIA *** The elevated right hind leg circumference values in the paw and arthritis clinical score of osteoarthritic rats were significantly ameliorated at weeks 4,5,and *** peroxide significantly increased in the serum of osteoarthritic rats,whereas reduced serum glutathione and glutathione transferase levels were *** and HA significantly improved *** significantly elevated ankle matrix metalloproteinase 13(MMP-13)mRNA and transforming growth factor beta 1(TgF-β1)protein expression,and tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α)and interleukin-17(IL-17)serum levels in osteoarthritic rats were significantly downregulated by BMMSCs and *** effects of BMMSCs and HA on serum TNF-αand IL-17 were more potent than their *** lowered serum IL-4 levels in osteoarthritic rats were significantly upregulated by BMMSCs and ***,BMMSCs and HA caused a steady decrease in joint injury and cartilage *** BMMSCs and/or HA have anti-arthritic effects mediated by antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects on MIAinduced ***-13 and TgF-β1 expression improves BMMSCs and/or HA effects on OA in Wistar rats.

Valorisation of alum sludge to produce green and durable mortar

Alum sludge is a typical by-product of drinking water treatment *** sludge is disposed of at landfill sites,and such a disposal method may cause significant environmental concern due to its vast *** paper assessed the feasibility of reusing sludge as a supplementary cementitious material,which could efficiently exhaust stockpiled ***,the pozzolanic reactivity of sludge at different temperatures,the reaction mechanism of the sludge-cement binder,and the resistance of sludge-derived mortar to microbially induced corrosion were *** obtained results indicated that 800℃ was the optimal calcination temperature for *** containing sludge up to 30%by weight showed comparable physical properties at a curing age of 90 *** with 10%cement replaced by sludge can significantly improve the resistance to biogenic corrosion due to the formation of Al-bearing phases with high resistance to acidic media,e.g.,Ca_(4)Al_(2)O_(7)·xH_(2)O and strätlingite.
