background:Syrian juniper is an economically important species and in danger of *** these reasons,the best seedling production methods of the species should be determined and its plantations should be *** aim of the study is to examine the impacts of altitude and different pretreatment combinations of cold and warm stratifications,citric acid,shaking seeds in bottles with crushed glass,and different stimulating agents including baikal EM1,biohumus,Polystimulin A6 and K hormones(PS-A6 and PS-K)on seed germination of Syrian *** conduct the study,the cones of the Syrian junipers were collected from three different altitudes(1000,1200,and 1400 m a.s.l.)within the boundaries of Forest Management Directorate of bozyazı,Mersin in *** seeds were subjected to three replicates per one treatment(altitude in interaction with pretreatment).There were 100 seeds per ***:Two-way ANOVA revealed significant effects of altitude,pretreatment,and their interaction on seedling emergence of Syrian *** from higher altitudes had higher germination rates in all *** highest percent emergence(85%)was recorded in the combination consisting of shaking with crushed glass,both cold and warm stratification,and successive application of stimulators PS-A6 and *** the treatments with most germinating seeds encompassed shaking in crushed glass or soaking in citric acid,both warm and cold stratifications,and application of stimulating ***:The use of seeds from higher altitudes should be considered for seedling production of Syrian juniper due to their higher germination *** altitudinal differences,specific pretreatments can rise germination potential more than twofold.

Improvement of sintering,nonlinear electrical,and dielectric properties of ZnO-based varistors doped with TiO2

The effects of TiO2 on sintering and nonlinear electrical properties of（98.5-x）ZnO–0.5MnO2–0.5Co2O3-0.5bi2O3–xTiO2（x = 0.3,0.5,0.7,0.9 mol%） ceramic varistors prepared by the ceramic technique are investigated in this *** optimum sintering temperature of the prepared samples is deduced by determining the firing shrinkage and water absorption *** optimum sintering temperature is found to be 1200℃,at which each of the samples shows a maximum firing shrinkage and minimum water *** minimum water absorption appears in a sample of x = 0.9 mol%.Higher sintering temperature and longer sintering time give rise to a reduction in bulk density due to the increased amount of porosity between the large grains of ZnO resulting from the rapid grain growth induced by the liquid phase *** crystal size of ZnO decreases with increasing TiO2 *** addition of TiO2 improves the nonlinear coefficient and attains its maximum value at x = 0.7 mol% of TiO2,further addition negatively affects it.A decrease in capacitance consequently in the dielectric constant is recorded with increasing the frequency in a range of 30 kHz–200 *** temperature and composition dependences of the dielectric constant and AC conductivity are also *** increase of temperature raises the dielectric constant because it increases ionic response to the field at any particular frequency.

Advanced age and the clinical outcomes of transcatheter aortic valve implan-tation

Aortic valve stenosis （AS） is common in the elderly. Although surgical replacement of the valve has been the gold standard of management, many patients have been excluded from surgery because they were very old, frail, or had co-morbidities that increased operative risks. In the last decade, transcatheter aortic valve implantation （TAVI） has emerged as a new treatment option suitable for these patients. This article reviews the available literature on the role of TAVI in elderly patients with severe aortic stenosis. Published studies showed that elderly individuals who underwent TAVI experienced better in-hospital recovery, and similar short and mid-term mortality compared to those underwent surgical treatment of AS. However, long-term outcomes of TAVI in elderly patients are still unknown. The available data in the literature on the ef-fect of advanced age on clinical outcomes of TAVI are limited, but the data that are available suggest that TAVI is a beneficial and tolerable procedure in very old patients. Some of the expected complications after TAVI are reported more in the oldest patients such as vascular in-jures. Other complications were comparable in TAVI patients regardless of their age group. However, very old patients may need closer monitoring to avoid further morbidities and mortality.

Sulforaphane as a Promising Natural Molecule for Cancer Prevention and Treatment

Tumorigenicity-inhibiting compounds have been identifled in our daily *** example,isothiocyanates(ITCs)found in cruciferous vegetables were reported to have potent cancer=prevention *** best characterized ITC is sulforaphane(SF).SF can simultaneously modulate multiple cellular targets involved in carcinogenesis,including(1)modulating carcinogen-metabolizing enzymes and blocking the action of mutagens;(2)inhibition of cell proliferation and induction of apoptosis;and(3)inhibition of neo-angiogenesis and *** targets cancer stem cells through modulation of nuclear factor kappa b(NF-κb),Sonic hedgehog(SHH),epithelial-mesenchymal transition,and Wnt/βcatenin *** chemotherapy/SF combination was tested in several studies and resulted in favorable *** its favorable toxicological profile,SF is a promising agent in cancer prevention and/or *** this article,we discuss the human metabolism of SF and its effects on cancer prevention,treatment,and targeting cancer stem cells,as well as providing a brief review of recent human clinical trials on SF.

A consensus meeting of national experts from all major national hepatobiliary centres in the country was held on May 26,2023,at the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute&Research Centre(PKLI&RC)after initial consultations with the *** Pakistan Society for the Study of Liver Diseases(PSSLD)and PKLI&RC jointly organised this *** effort was based on a comprehensive literature review to establish national practice guidelines for hilar cholangiocarcinoma(hCCA).The consensus was that hCCA is a complex disease and requires a multidisciplinary team approach to best manage these *** coordinated effort can minimise delays and give patients a chance for curative treatment and effective *** diagnostic and staging workup includes high-quality computed tomography,magnetic resonance imaging,and magnetic resonance *** cytology or biopsy utilizing endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography is a mainstay for ***,histopathologic confirmation is not always required before *** ultrasound with fine needle aspiration of regional lymph nodes and positron emission tomography scan are valuable adjuncts for *** only curative treatment is the surgical resection of the biliary tree based on the bismuth-Corlette *** patients with unresectable hCCA can be considered for liver *** chemotherapy should be offered to patients with a high risk of *** use of preoperative biliary drainage and the need for portal vein embolisation should be based on local multidisciplinary *** with acute cholangitis can be drained with endoscopic or percutaneous biliary *** chemotherapy with cisplatin and gemcitabine has shown improved survival in patients with irresectable and recurrent hCCA.

Numerical Investigation of Rotating Stall in Centrifugal Compressor with Vaned and Vaneless Diffuser

This study presents a numerical simulation of the stall and surge in a centrifugal compressor and presents a description of the stall development in two different *** first case is for a compressor with vaneless diffuser and the second is for a compressor with vaned diffuser of the vane island *** main aim of this study is to compare the flow characteristics and behavior for the two compressors near the surge operating condition and provide further understanding of the diffuser role when back flow occurs at *** showed that for a location near the diffuser entrance,the amplitude of the static pressure fluctuations for the vaneless diffuser case is higher than that for the vaned diffuser case near surge *** pressure fluctuations in the case of the vaneless diffuser appear with a gradual decrease of the mean pressure value as a part of the surge *** for the case of the vaned diffuser,the pressure drop during surge occurs faster than the case of the vaneless ***,results indicated that during surge in the case of vaneless diffuser,there is a region with low velocity and back flow that appears as a layer connecting all impeller passages near shroud surface and this layer develops in size with *** the other hand,for the case of vaned diffuser during surge,the low velocity regions appear in random locations in some passages and these regions expand with time towards the shroud *** showed that during stall,the impeller passages are exposed to identical impact from stall cells in the case of vaneless diffuser while the stall effect varies from passage to another in the case of the vaned diffuser.

TLSmell: Direct Identification on Malicious HTTPs Encryption Traffic withSimple Connection-Specific Indicators

Internet traffic encryption is a very common traffic protection *** internet traffic is protected by the encryption protocol called transport layersecurity (TLS). Although traffic encryption can ensure the security of communication, it also enables malware to hide its information and avoid being *** present, most of the malicious traffic detection methods are aimed at the unencrypted ones. There are some problems in the detection of encrypted traffic, suchas high false positive rate, difficulty in feature extraction, and insufficient practicability. The accuracy and effectiveness of existing methods need to be *** this paper, we present TLSmell, a framework that conducts maliciousencrypted HTTPs traffic detection with simple connection-specific indicators byusing different classifiers based online training. We perform deep packet analysisof encrypted traffic through data pre-processing to extract effective features, andthen the online training algorithm is used for training and prediction. Withoutdecrypting the original traffic, high-precision malicious traffic detection and analysis are realized, which can guarantee user privacy and communication *** the same time, since there is no need to decrypt the traffic in advance, the effi-ciency of detecting malicious HTTPs traffic will be greatly improved. Combinedwith the traditional detection and analysis methods, malicious HTTPs traffic isscreened, and suspicious traffic is further analyzed by the expert through the context of suspicious behaviors, thereby improving the overall performance of malicious encrypted traffic detection.

LogUAD: Log Unsupervised Anomaly Detection based on Word2Vec

System logs record detailed information about system operation and areimportant for analyzing the system's operational status and performance. Rapidand accurate detection of system anomalies is of great significance to ensure system stability. However, large-scale distributed systems are becoming more andmore complex, and the number of system logs gradually increases, which bringschallenges to analyze system logs. Some recent studies show that logs can beunstable due to the evolution of log statements and noise introduced by log collection and parsing. Moreover, deep learning-based detection methods take a longtime to train models. Therefore, to reduce the computational cost and avoid loginstability we propose a new Word2Vec-based log unsupervised anomaly detection method (LogUAD). LogUAD does not require a log parsing step and takesoriginal log messages as input to avoid the noise. LogUAD uses Word2Vec togenerate word vectors and generates weighted log sequence feature vectors withTF-IDF to handle the evolution of log statements. At last, a computationally effi-cient unsupervised clustering is exploited to detect the anomaly. We conductedextensive experiments on the public dataset from blue Gene/L (bGL). Experimental results show that the F1-score of LogUAD can be improved by 67.25%compared to LogCluster.

Image captioning aims to generate a corresponding description of an *** recent years,neural encoder-decodermodels have been the dominant approaches,in which the Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)and Long Short TermMemory(LSTM)are used to translate an image into a natural language *** these approaches,the visual attention mechanisms are widely used to enable deeper image understanding through fine-grained analysis and even multiple steps of ***,most conventional visual attention mechanisms are based on high-level image features,ignoring the effects of other image features,and giving insufficient consideration to the relative positions between image *** this work,we propose a Position-Aware Transformer model with image-feature attention and position-aware attention mechanisms for the above *** image-feature attention firstly extracts multi-level features by using Feature Pyramid Network(FPN),then utilizes the scaled-dot-product to fuse these features,which enables our model to detect objects of different scales in the image more effectivelywithout increasing *** the position-aware attentionmechanism,the relative positions between image features are obtained at first,afterwards the relative positions are incorporated into the original image features to generate captions more *** are carried out on the MSCOCO dataset and our approach achieves competitive bLEU-4,METEOR,ROUGE-L,CIDEr scores compared with some state-of-the-art approaches,demonstrating the effectiveness of our approach.
