AIM:To investigate the effectiveness of antioxidant compounds in modulating mitochondrial oxidative alterations and lipids accumulation in fatty ***:Silybin-phospholipid complex containing vitamin E(Realsil) was daily administered by gavage(one pouch diluted in 3 mL of water and containing 15 mg vitamin E and 47 mg silybin complexed with phospholipids) to rats fed a choline-deprived(CD) or a high fat diet [20% fat,containing 71% total calories as fat,11% as carbohydrate,and 18% as protein,high fat diet(HFD)] for 30 d and 60 d,*** control group was fed a normal semi-purified diet containing adequate levels of choline(35% total calories as fat,47% as carbohydrate,and 18% as protein).Circulating and hepatic redox active and nitrogen regulating molecules(thioredoxin,glutathione,glutathione peroxidase),NO metabolites(nitrosothiols,nitrotyrosine),lipid peroxides [malondialdehyde-thiobarbituric(MDA-TBA)],and pro-inflammatory keratins(K-18) were measured on days 0,7,14,30,and *** respiratory chain proteins and the extent of hepatic fatty infiltration were ***:Both diet regimens produced liver steatosis(50% and 25% of liver slices with CD and HFD,respectively) with no signs of necro-inflammation:fat infiltration ranged from large droplets at day 14 to disseminated and confluent vacuoles resulting in microvesicular steatosis at day 30(CD) and day 60(HFD).In plasma,thioredoxin and nitrosothiols were not significantly changed,while MDA-TBA,nitrotyrosine(from 6 ± 1 nmol/L to 14 ± 3 nmol/L day 30 CD,P decreased(from 34.0 ± 1.3 to 25.3 ± 1.2 nmol/mg prot day 30 CD,P < 0.001,and 22.4 ± 2.4 nmol/mg prot day 60 HFD,P < 0.001),while thioredoxin and glutathione peroxidase were initially increased and then

Tuberculosis(TB)remains a leading cause of death among infectious diseases,particularly in poor *** infections,multidrug-resistant and ex-tensively drug-resistant TB strains,as well as the coexistence of chronic illnesses such as diabetes mellitus(DM)greatly aggravate TB morbidity and ***[particularly type 2 DM(T2DM)]and TB have converged making their control even more *** contemporary global epidemics,TB-DM behaves like a syndemic,a synergistic confluence of two highly prevalent diseases.T2DM is a risk factor for developing more severe forms of multi-drug resistant-TB and TB recurrence after preventive *** a bidirectional relationship exists between TB and DM,it is necessary to concurrently treat both,and promote recommendations for the joint management of both *** are also some drug-drug interactions resulting in adverse treatment outcomes in TB-DM patients including treatment failure,and *** addition,autophagy may play a role in these ***,the TB-DM comorbidities present several health challenges,requiring a focus on multidisciplinary collaboration and integrated strategies,to effectively deal with this double *** effectively manage the comorbidity,further screening in affected countries,more suitable drugs,and better treatment strategies are required.

The study was carried out in Matiranga Upazila,Bandarban district,which is considered one of Bangladesh’s major hill tract *** study aimed to identify present farming conditions,prospects,and problems and suitable solutions to the problems of fish *** participatory rapid appraisal tools such as focus group discussion,field visits,and farmers’interviews were used to collect relevant fish farming information in the study *** polyculture method was the most practised aquaculture *** the selected farms,eleven fish species were identified as culture *** transportation cost for seeds purchased from remote areas was high(11%of total seed cost).The average transportation-related mortality of fish fry and fingerlings was 7.2%and 2.8%.Feed cost was found as the major cost(58.4%)in *** and revenue for fish production per decimal varied from BDT 311 to 3528 and BDT 23 to *** of vacant lake,youth and women engagement,integrated aquaculture,the desire of people to engage in aquaculture,and available human resources were found as significant *** major problems identified were lack of hatchery,high feed cost,lack of stakeholder linkage,lack of capital for fish farming,and lack of proper knowledge,guidelines,and consultancy for fish culture.A community-based aquaculture model was proposed to overcome the present challenges and problems in the study *** model may help to expand aquaculture and thus improve the livelihood and socio-economic status of the people of the hilly areas of Bangladesh.

The 2022 Paktika earthquake(moment magnitude:6.2) occurred on June 22,2022,near the border between the Khost and Paktika Provinces of Afghanistan,causing heavy damage and casualties in Paktika *** study evaluated the crustal deformation and associated strong motions induced by the Paktika *** deformations were determined using the Differential Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar(DInSAR) technique and three-dimensional finite element method(3DFEM) and the results were *** permanent ground displacements obtained from the DInSAR and 3D-FEM analyses were similar in terms of amplitude and areal *** motions were estimated using the 3D-FEM with and without considering regional *** estimations of maximum ground acceleration,velocity,and permanent ground deformations were compared among each other as well as with those inferred from failures of some simple structures in the Spera and Gayan *** inferred maximum ground acceleration and velocity from the failed adobe structures were more than 300 Gal and 50 cm/s,respectively,nearly consistent with the estimates obtained using empirical *** empirical method yielded a maximum ground acceleration of 347 Gal,whereas the maximum ground velocity was approximately50 cm/*** light of these findings,some surface expressions of crustal deformations and strong ground motions,such as failures of soil and rock slopes and rockfalls,have been *** rock slope failures in the epicentral area were consistent with those observed during various earthquakes in Afghanistan and worldwide.

Autophagy is a prosurvival mechanism for the clearance of accumulated abnormal proteins,damaged organelles,and excessive lipids within mammalian cells.A growing body of data indicates that autophagy is reduced in aging *** reduction leads to various diseases,such as myocardial hypertrophy,infarction,and *** studies in animal models of an aging heart showed that fasting-induced autophagy improved cardiac function and *** improvement is related to autophagic clearance of damaged cellular components via either bulk or selective autophagy(such as mitophagy).In this editorial,we summarize the mechanisms of autophagy in normal and aging *** addition,the protective effect of fasting-induced autophagy in cardiac aging has been highlighted.

Fusobacterium nucleatum is an anaerobic, commensal, gram-negative oral bacterium that is carcinogenic and causes a wide range of human diseases. The present study focused on the analysis of the hypothetical protein, HMPREF3221_01179, derived from F. nucleatum strain MJR7757B, employing various computational methods to anticipate both its structure and functional characteristics. NCBI conserved domain analysis, NCBI BLASTp and MEGA Phylogenetic tree study characterize the target protein as an outer membrane efflux protein (ToIC family) which facilitate the bacterial transmembrane transport. With a molecular weight of 52120.02 Da, an isoelectric point (pI) of 8.33, and an instability index of 29.47, the protein is anticipated to exhibit good solubility in the extracellular space and crucial stability for pharmaceutical applications. The protein’s structure meets quality standards during the construction and refinement of its 3D model. The efflux inhibitor Arginine beta-naphthylamide exhibits a significant binding affinity (-7.1 kcal/mol) to the binding site of the target protein. The in-silico analysis improves the understanding of the protein and facilitates future investigations into therapeutic medication.

Introduction:Chronic diseases are becoming more prevalent *** effects of chronic illnesses are disastrous not only for the diagnosed person but also for their entire *** study explores chronic diseases’social and economic impact on low-income *** study aims to determine the economic and social implications of various chronic diseases and the loss of income due to these conditions among low-income individuals in Southern Punjab,***:A sample of 424 patients was selected from different areas of Southern *** were collected using a questionnaire that included questions about economic status,self-reported health status,social status,management strategies,and health insurance,among other ***:The mean monthly income of the respondents was found to be 57,097.6 Pakistani rupee(PKR),and the mean monthly expenses for treatment were 8,256.1 *** loss of income was calculated at 15%.Additionally,62%of patients spent more than 10%of their monthly income on managing their *** 85%of the respondents reported that chronic diseases affected their social ***,80%of patients lacked health ***:Chronic diseases impose significant economic and social burdens on patients and their families in Southern *** reduce the burden of chronic diseases,the government should enhance healthcare services in this region and provide health insurance to low-income families.

Portal hypertension is the main complication of cirrhosis and is defined as an hepatic venous pressure gradient （HVPG） of more than 5 mmHg. Clinically significant portal hypertension is defined as HVPG of 10 mmHg or more. development of gastroesophageal varices and variceal hemorrhage are the most direct consequence of portal hypertension. Over the last decades significant advancements in the field have led to standard treatment options. These clinical recommendations have evolved mostly as a result of *** controlled trials and consensus conferences among experts where existing evidence has been reviewed and future goals for research and practice guidelines have been pro- posed. Management of varices/variceal hemorrhage is based on the clinical stage of portal hypertension. No specific treatment has shown to prevent the formation of varices. Prevention of first variceal hemorrhage depends on the size/characteristics of varices. In patients with small varices and high risk of bleeding, nonselective β-blockers are recommended, while patients with medium/large varices can be treated with either β-blockers or esophageal band ligation. Standard ofcare for acute variceal hemorrhage consists of vasoacrive drugs, endoscopic band ligation and antibiotics prophylaxis. Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt （TIPS） is reserved for those who fail standard of care or for patients who are likely to fail （＂early TIPS＂）. Prevention of recurrent variceal hemorrhage consists of the combination of β-blockers and endoscopic band ligation.
