Predictive Value of Resting Pd/Pa for Fractional Flow Reserve Assessed with Monorail Pressure Microcatheter in Real-World Practice

Background and Objectives:The aims of this study were(1)to examine the diagnostic accuracy of resting timeaveraged distal coronary pressure(Pd)to mean aortic pressure(Pa)ratio to predict hyperemic fractional flow reserve(FFR)and(2)to identify a resting Pd/Pa value that can preclude the need for hyperemic FFR assessed with use of a monorail pressure ***:A total of 191 stenoses were *** exclusions,157 FFR data sets from 103 patients were ***:Resting Pd/Pa showed poor agreement with hyperemic FFR(r=0.619,P<0.001).The receiver operating characteristic curve for resting Pd/Pa with reference to hyperemic FFR of 0.80 or less showed an area under the curve of 0.800(95%confi dence interval 0.732– 0.868,P<0.001),with the greatest diagnostic accuracy of 74.5%for resting Pd/Pa of less than *** Pd/Pa of 0.96 or greater had a sensitivity of 100%and a negative predictive value of 100%,and resting Pd/Pa of 0.82 or less had a specifi city of 98.9%and a positive predictive value of 94.1%to predict abnormal FFR of 0.80 or *** results were consistent regardless of the vessels studied,the location of lesions,and the severity of ***:Resting Pd/Pa showed poor agreement with hyperemic FFR assessed with use of a monorail pressure ***,resting Pd/Pa of 0.96 or greater had excellent sensitivity and negative predictive value to predict normal hyperemic FFR,and resting Pd/Pa of 0.82 or less had excellent specifi city and positive predictive value to predict abnormal hyperemic FFR.

Sustainable green technology on wastewater treatment:The evaluation of enhanced single chambered up-flow membrane-less microbial fuel cell

This study demonstrated the potential of single chamber up-flow membrane-less microbial fuel cell（UFML-MFC） in wastewater treatment and power generation. The purpose of this study was to evaluate and enhance the performance under different operational conditions which affect the chemical oxygen demand（COD） reduction and power generation,including the increase of KCl concentration（MFC1） and COD concentration（MFC2）. The results showed that the increase of KCl concentration is an important factor in up-flow membrane-less MFC to enhance the ease of electron transfer from anode to cathode. The increase of COD concentration in MFC2 could led to the drop of voltage output due to the prompt of biofilm growth in MFC2 cathode which could increase the internal resistance. It also showed that the COD concentration is a vital issue in up-flow membrane-less *** the COD reduction was up to 96%, the power output remained constrained.

Fractal Analysis of Rainfall-Induced Landslide and Debris Flow Spread Distribution in the Chenyulan Creek Basin, Taiwan

The Chenyulan Stream in Central Taiwan follows the Chenyulan fault line which is a major boundary fault in Taiwan. In recent years, many destructive landslides have occurred in the Chenyulan Creek Basin after heavy rainfall accompanied by several strong typhoons. Three examples of landslide distributions in the Chenyulan Creek Basin, before and after 1996 and after 2004 are analyzed. The box dimension and two-point correlation dimension are employed to describe the landslide area size distribution and distance distribution between every two landslides, respectively. It is found that the number of landslides increased in this period. However, the average landslide area decreased. The correlation dimension gradually increased from 1.15 to 1.32 during this period（before and after 1996 and after 2004）. This implies that the landslide distribution in the Chenyulan Creek Basin has become diffuse and extensive. The box dimension value shows the degree of the landslide density occupied in a space. The box dimension also increased from 0.3 to 0.69 during this period. The increasing box dimension means that the landslide presented in this creek basin has gradually increased. This indicates that the slopes of this creek basin have become more unstable and susceptible.

Ruptured hepatoblastoma with massive internal bleeding in an adult

Hepatoblastoma is the most common primary hepatic tumor of children. However, only a very few cases have been reported in adults. Most studies support treatment with chemotherapy followed by surgical resection. We present the first reported case of adult hepatoblastoma in Taiwan. A 52-year-old female suffered from sudden onset of abdominal pain and general weakness for *** bleeding with hemorrhagic shock was suspected and two massive lesions in both lobes of the liver with hemoperitoneum were noted from imaging *** resection of the larger left lobe tumor and radio-frequency ablation of the right smaller one were performed. The histopathology diagnosis was of a hepatoblastoma.

Solid dispersion is one of the most promising strategies to improve oral bioavailability of poorly soluble ***,there are inconsistent dissolution performances of solid dispersion reported which entails further *** this study,solid dispersions of ketoprofen in three hydrophilic carriers,*** K30,PVPVA 6:4 and PVA were prepared and *** characterization of the physical mixture of ketoprofen and carriers shows certain extent of amorphization of the *** result is coinciding to evaluation of drug-polymer interaction using ATR-FTIR whereby higher amorphization was seen in samples with higher drug-polymer *** scanning confirms that fully amorphous solid dispersion was obtained for SD KTP PVP K30 and PVPVA system whereas partially crystalline system was obtained for SD KTP ***,dissolution profiles of the solid dispersion had shown that degree of amorphization of KTP was not directly proportional to the dissolution rate enhancement of the solid dispersion ***,it is concluded that complete amorphization does not guarantee dissolution enhancement of an amorphous solid dispersion system.

Background and aim:Conventional hepatitis C treatment using pegylated interferon(PEG-IFN)and ribavirin is associated with significant side ***28B polymorphism can predict response to treatment,with CC genotype having a better *** gene deficiency protects against clinically significant anaemia induced by *** purpose of this study was to determine IL28B polymorphismand ITPA variation among hepatitis C genotype 1 patients who have undergone therapy with PEG-IFN and ribavirin and their association with sustained viral response(SVR).Methods:All hepatitis C genotype 1 patients who had been treated with PEG-IFN and ribavirin over the past 10 years were identified by available medical records and were contacted by letter of invitation to participate in the *** samples for IL28B and ITPA genotyping were *** records were reviewed for verification of treatment response,development of anaemia and if treatment reduction was required during the ***:A total of 61 patients with hepatitis C genotype 1 were treated with PEG-IFN and ribavirin,of whom 42 agreed to participate in the *** age was 45.6±12.9 years at time of treatment,and 83.3%of patients ***-three(78.6%)had IL28B CC genotype,of whom 25(75.8%)obtained SVR compared with only 3 of 9(33.3%)non C/C genotype patients who achieved SVR(P=0.041).Eleven(26.1%)patients had ITPA AC genotype,and 30(71.4%)had CC *** was no statistically significant difference between ITPA AC and CC genotypes in predicting clinically significant anaemia(45.5%vs 63.3%,P=0.302).Even among patients who developed anaemia,70.8%stillmanaged to achieve *** reduction also had no impact on ***:Hepatitis C genotype 1 patients should be informed of the response rate for treatment with PEG-IFN and ribavirin in a population with favourable IL28B genotype before consideration of newer therapeutic options.

The presence of cytosolic DNA at tumor sites and the activation of the cGAS-STING pathway have been implicated in the activation of antitumor immune responses.1,2,3 Manganese (Mn) is a necessary trace element for intracellular activities. It plays important roles in development, digestion, reproduction, antioxidant defense, energy production, immunity, and neuronal activity regulation.4 Mn was reported to enhance cGAS-STING activation through increased sensitivity to dsDNA during viral infections.5 However, it is unclear whether Mn can enhance antitumor immune functions. Here, we revealed that Mn2+ could inhibit the development of murine hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) through immune modulations. It upregulated IFN-γ and TNF-α production in splenic and tumor-infiltrating CD8+ T cells. Moreover, Mn2+ significantly increased type I interferon (IFN) production and type I IFN-stimulated gene (ISG) expression in tumor-bearing mice. Further analysis revealed that myeloid cells could upregulate type I IFN production and increase costimulatory molecule expression upon Mn2+ stimulation. In vivo depletion of CD8+ T cells or treatment of IFNAR KO mice diminished the antitumor activity of Mn2+, suggesting that the antitumor function of Mn2+ is dependent on both CD8+ T cells and type I IFN signaling. Our results provide evidence to support Mn2+ as a novel agent that can be incorporated into cancer immunotherapy.

Accumulating evidence suggests that the cellular redox status plays an important role in regulating viral replication and infectivity. G6PD-deficient human foreskin fibroblast (HFF) is under higher oxidative stress. In this study, experiments were performed to compare the susceptibility of normal (HFF3) and G6PD-deficient (HFF1) cells to enterovirus7l (EV71) infection. After EV71 infection, both types of cells developed cytopathic effect. There was a significant difference in cell viability of both types of cells: cell viability of HFF1 was 71% of uninfected control whereas the viability of HFF3 was 83% of uninfected control. The amount of viral particles collected from HFF1 (2.2×104 PFU/ml) was larger than HFF3 (1.2×104 PFU/ml). G6PD plays a role in the protection of cells from viral infection was further supported by the results that ectopic expression of G6PD in the deficient cells prevented the loss of viability upon viral infection and inhibited the amplification ability of virus. The GSH/GSSG ratio in G6PD-deficient cells was lower than G6PD over-expressing cells. Taken together, our new findings support the notion that G6PD-deficient HFF is more susceptible to EV71 infection.

Mixed halide perovskites with the ability to tune bandgaps exhibit attractive applications in tandem solar cells,building integrated photovoltaic and wavelength-tunable light-emitting ***,halide demixing under illumination or in the dark with a charge-carrier injection in both hybrid and inorganic perovskites results in bandgap instability and current-density-voltage(J-V)hysteresis,which can significantly hamper their ***,we demonstrate that halide segregation and J-V hysteresis in mixed halide inorganic CsPbIBr_(2)solar cells can be effectively mitigated by introducing an intermediate phase-enhanced Ostwald ripening through the control of the chemical composition in the CsPbIBr_(2)precursor *** amounts of either PbBr_(2)or CsI are incorporated into originally even molar amounts of PbBr_(2)and CsI precursor *** the PbBr_(2)-excess,we observed an enlarged perovskite grain size,no detectable halide phase segregation at the grain boundaries nor the perovskite/TiO2 interface,an increased minority carrier lifetime,a reduced J-V hysteresis,and an improved solar-cell ***,different CsI:PbBr_(2)stoichiometric ratios were found to have different effects on the performance of the perovskite solar *** excessive lead phase is reactive with the dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO)in the precursor solution to form the Pb(I,Br)2·DMSO complex and the quasi-twodimensional(2D)CsPb_(2)(I,Br)5,which are conducive to Ostwald maturation and defect ***,the CsPbIBr_(2)solar cell with a PbBr_(2)-excess precursor composition reaches a power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 9.37%(stabilized PCE of 8.48%)and a maximum external quantum efficiency of over 90%.
