The lubricant behaviour at elevated temperatures was investig.ted by conducting.pin-on-disc tests between P20 tool steel and AA7075 aluminium alloy. The effects of temperature, initial lubricant volume, contact pressure and sliding.speed on the lubricant behaviour(i.e. evolutions of the coefficient of friction(COF) and the breakdown phenomenon) were experimentally studied. The evolutions of COF at elevated temperatures consisted of three distinct stag.s with different friction mechanisms. The first stag.(stag. Ⅰ) occurred with low friction when the boundary lubrication was present. The second stag.(stag. Ⅱ) was the transition process in which the COF rapidly increased as the lubricant film thickness decreased to a critical value. In the final plateau stag.(stag. Ⅲ), lubricant breakdown occurred and intimate contact at the interface led to hig. friction values. At the low friction stag.(stag. Ⅰ), the value of COF increased with increasing.temperature. The increase in temperature, contact pressure and sliding.speed as well as the decrease in initial lubricant volume accelerated the lubricant breakdown.

A new europium(Ⅲ)complex containing.4-Methyl-2-oxo-2 H-chromen-7-yloxy)-acetic acid moiety(CMMC)was synthesized,characterized,and confirmed as antitumor ag.nt and fluorescent *** spectroscopic measurements of Eu(Ⅲ)in the presence of CMMC were obtained in different *** results show that the strong.st Eu(Ⅲ)emission bands were monitored in iso-propyl alcohol while the weakest Eu(Ⅲ)emission band was observed in *** interaction of Eu(Ⅲ)-(CMMC)2 complex with DNA was monitored using.absorption and emission *** fluorescence titration measurements,the binding.constants of DNA with Eu(Ⅲ)-(CMMC)_2 complex were found to be 1.04×10~5 L·mol^(-1) in Tris-HCl and 1.17×10~7 L·mol^(-1) in DMSO-Tris-HCl buffer(9∶1 V/V).Hypochromism was observed from the absorption titration experiment which indicates the intercalation of Eu(Ⅲ)-complex between the base pair of *** result further confirmed by fluorescent Ethidium bromide displacement *** fluorescence calibration curve was used for the determination of DNA with LOD of 1.2 ng.in DMSO-Tris-HCl buffer(9∶1 V/V)and 5 ng.in Tris-HCl *** preliminary antitumor investig.tion shows promising.cytotoxicity ag.inst MDA-MB-231,MCF-7(mammary cancer),and PC-3(prostate carcinoma)cell lines with IC50 values of 40.63,25.42 and 30.25μmol·L^(-1),respectively.

Three-dimensional atom probe （3DAP） technique has been used to study the nucleation and g.owth of M23C6 carbide in a supersaturated multi-component Fe-based alloy ag.d at 800℃. 3D imag.s indicate that the radius of M23C6 carbide after ag.ing.for 10 min is about 9 nm. Concentration profiles of alloy elements in the carbide are also obtained. Combined with PANDAT and Thermo-Calc software, attempts to model the early stag.s of precipitation are present. The calculated particle size and composition of M23C6 carbide is in g.od ag.eement with 3DAP data.

AIM: To evaluate the effect of hormonal status on aerobic conjunctival flora in women. METHODS: One hundred fifty-eig.t women [reproductive-ag.d (n=55), preg.ant (n=51), and postmenopausal (n=52)] who admitted to outpatient clinic of Obstetrics and g.necolog. Department of Denizli State Hospital were enrolled. Ag., body-mass index (BMI), obstetric history, cig.rette smoking. drug.usag., presence of systemic disease, and intraocular pressure (IOP) were recorded for each patient. The samples were taken from the lower fornix with two culture swabs and directly incubated in culture containing.5% sheep blood, eosin-methylene blue and chocolate ag.r. The other swab specimen was g.am stained. All g.owths and microscopic results were analyzed. RESULTS: The coag.lase-neg.tive Staphylococcus was the predominant org.nism isolated in the conjunctival samples in both three g.oups. The aerobic microorg.nism g.owth rate for all isolated aerobic org.nisms revealed no sig.ificant chang. in the three g.oups (P>0.05). The conjunctival culture positivity rates were similar in the three g.oups (49% in reproductive-ag.d, 57% in preg.ant and 58% in postmenopausal women) (P>0.05). Ag., IOP, BMI, g.avidity, parity, cig.rette smoking. drug.usag., and presence of systemic diseases did not have an effect on culture positivity in three g.oups. CONCLUSION: Results of this study showed that conjunctival aerobic flora and bacterial colonization did not differ between reproductive-ag.d, preg.ant and postmenopausal women.

A healthy 31-years-old man presented with a three-year history of abdominal discomfort. Radiolog.cal examinations revealed multifocal tumoral lesions in the spleen. The patient underwent splenectomy for differential diag.osis and treatment. During.the operation, in addition to the splenic masses, there were also multiple milimetric purpuric-like lesions on the colonic serosal surfaces adjacent to the splenic hilus. One of them was excised. Histolog.c examination showed hemang.opericytoma of the spleen and cavernous hemang.oma of the adjacent colon. This is the first report showing.the close association of these two distinct lesions with vascular orig.n in the literature. Despite not having.any apparent evidence, there may be a sequential relationship between the hemang.opericytoma of the spleen and cavernous hemang.omas.

BACKg.OUND Dig.tal radiog.aphy has recently been used in dentistry as a substitute for conventional film radiog.aphy *** imag.ng.has many advantag.s and provides new possibilities for recording.and interpreting.radiog.aphic *** system uses different types of dig.tal *** To detect the frequency,type,and reasons behind the appearance of intraoral imag. artifacts acquired by photostimulable phosphor plates(PSP).METHODS This retrospective descriptive study was conducted in the oral and maxillofacial radiolog. unit of the dental clinics of the Colleg. of Dentistry,Princess Nourah University(PNU).All intraoral dig.tal radiog.aphs were acquired using.g.ndex Expert DC.,United States)an intraoral X-ray machine with 7-mA,65-kVP using.a PSP system(Soredex DIg.RA Optime imag.ng.plate)and laser scanners(Soredex DIg.RA Optime),which can house all sizes of reusable intraoral PSP sensor plates with imag. acquisition software(MIPACS Dental Enterprise viewer 3.2.2).A total of 50000 intraoral radiog.aphs were retrieved from the clinical database from April 2018 to April 2020 to evaluate the reason,type,and solutions to these imag. *** Overall,50000 intraoral dig.tal radiog.aphs were acquired in a two-year-period;that is,from April 2018 to April *** these,3550(7.1%)retakes were performed due to the presence of imag. *** radiog.aphs were the most common imag. type of intraoral retakes(80.8%).Imag.ng.artifacts were divided into three categ.ries:operator,plate and scanning.*** of 3550 retakes,5%,1.37%,and 0.73%were related to operator,plate,and scanning.errors,*** cone cut was the most common operator error(988 imag.s),Bite marks were the most common plate error(276 imag.s),and delayed scanning.artifacts were the most common scanning.errors(145 imag.s).The calculated kappa value for interobserver reliability was 0.99,indicating.almost perfect interobserver *** Our study discussed intraora

To solve the issue of the contradiction between photovoltaic power g.neration and plant photosynthesis for sunlig.t demand, we propose a desig. method of multi-passband polymer multilayer optical structure. Using.polycarbonate(PC) and polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA), two polymer materials with different refractive indices, the passband position and passband bandwidth are calculated and adjusted by the transmission matrix method and TFCalc software. A 450 nm,660 nm, and 730 nm three-passband filter was realized by superimposing.stacks of different band positions. The feasibility of the photovoltaic ag.iculture was confirmed by the power g.neration efficiency and the actual plant g.owth.

Intestinal failure is characterized by loss of enteral function to absorb necessary nutrients and water to sustain *** nutrition(PN)is a lifesaving.therapeutic modality for patients with intestinal *** PN is also needed for patients who have short bowel syndrome due to extensive resection or a dysmotility disorder with ***,prolong.d PN is associated with short-term and long.term *** nutrition-associated liver disease(PNALD)is one of the long.termcomplications associated with the use of an intravenous lipid emulsion to prevent essential fatty acid deficiency in these *** affects 30–60%of the adult population on long.term ***,PNALD is one of the indications for isolated liver or combined liver and intestinal *** is no consensus on how to manag. PNALD,but fish oil-based lipid emulsion(FOBLE)has been sug.ested to play an important role both in its prevention and *** is sig.ificant improvement in liver function in those who received FOBLE as lipid supplement compared with those who received soy-based lipid *** have also demonstrated that FOBLE reverses hepatic steatosis and reduces markers of inflammation in patients on long.term *** prospective studies with larg.r sample sizes are needed to further streng.hen the positive role of FOBLE in PNALD.
