A review of the effects of dietary organic acids fed to swine

Animal production depends on nutrient utilization and if done there is an accelerated momentum towards growth with a low cost to feed ratio Public concern over the consumption of pork with antibiotic residues of the animals fed with antibiotic growth promoters （AGP） has paved the way to use other additives like herbs and their products, probiotics, prebiotics etc. numerous feed additives are in vogue for achieving this target and one such classical example is the usage of organic acids and their salts. Usage of organic acids was in progress for over four decades. Early weaned piglets are （3-4 weeks age） exposed to stress with a reduced feed intake, little or no weight gain. This post weaning lag period is due to a limited digestive and absorptive capacity due to insufficient production of hydrochloric acid, pancreatic enzymes and sudden changes in feed consistency and intake. Lowering dietary pH by weak organic acids was found to overcome these problems. The main activity of organic acids is associated with a reduction in gastric pH converting the inactive pepsinogen to active pepsin for effective protein hydrolysis. Organic acids are both bacteriostatic and bactericidal. Lactic acid has been reported to reduce gastric pH and delay the multiplication of an enterotoxigenic E. coil These acids are the intermediary products in Kreb＇s cycle and thus act as an energy source preventing the tissue breakdown resulting from gluconeogenesis and lipolysis. Excretion of supplemental minerals and nitrogen are minimized with organic acids as these form complexes with minerals and aids for their bio-availability. Short chain fatty cids like acetic, propionic and n-butyric acid produced by microbial fermentation of dietary fibre in the large intestines may increase the proliferation of epithelial cells and have stimulatory effects on both endocrine and exocrine pancreatic secretions in pigs. Second-Harmonic Response in Magnetic nodal-Line Semimetal Fe_(3)GeTe_(2)

We experimentally investigate second-harmonic transverse voltage response to ac electrical current for a magnetic nodal-line semimetal Fe_(3)GeTe_(2)(FGT).For zero magnetic field,the observed second-harmonic voltage behaves as a square of the longitudinal current,as it should be expected for nonlinear Hall *** magnetic field behavior is found to be sophisticated:while the first-harmonic response shows the known anomalous Hall hysteresis in FGT,the second-harmonic Hall voltage is characterized by the pronounced high-field hysteresis and flat(B-independent)region with curves touching at low *** high-field hysteresis strongly depends on the magnetic field sweep rate,so it reflects some slow relaxation *** the lowest rates,it is also accomplished by multiple crossing *** shape of the second-harmonic hysteresis is known for skyrmion spin textures in nonlinear *** skyrmions have been demonstrated for FGT by direct visualization techniques,we can connect the observed high-field relaxation with deformation of the skyrmion ***,the second-harmonic Hall voltage response can be regarded as a tool to detect spin textures in transport experiments.

Shrub expansion into arctic and alpine tundra is one of the prominent vegetation changes currently *** studied the expansion of shrub vegetation into high elevation tundra in the Kvarkush Range of the northern Ural mountains,*** structure analysis of the dominant shrub Juniperus sibirica *** to support ongoing upslope advance of shrubs,a process particularly active in the second half of the 20 th *** found a close connection between the expansion of shrub vegetation and the general change in climatic conditions of the cold season(months with mean airtemperature below 0°Сfrom november to March).In general,the greatest influence on the distribution of *** is exerted by the climate conditions of the beginning(november-January)and the end(March)of the cold *** increasing elevation,the correlation coefficients between the establishment of *** shrubs and the precipitation of the beginning of the cold season increased,and reached maximum values at the top elevation level of the study ***,the upwards shift of *** into typical mountain tundra does not lead to changes in the ecological structure of vegetation at this stage,but simply a decrease in the area of mountain tundra.

A multiscalar and nonrenormalizable B-L extension of the standard model(SM)with S_(4)symmetry which successfully explains the recently observed neutrino oscillation data is *** tiny neutrino masses and their hierarchies are generated via the type-I seesaw *** model reproduces the recent experiments of neutrino mixing angles and Dirac CP violating phase in which the atmospheric angle(θ_(23))and the reactor angle(θ_(13))get the best-fit values while the solar angle(θ_(12))and Dirac CP violating phase(δ)are in 3σrange of the best-fit value for the normal hierarchy(nH).For the inverted hierarchy(IH),θ13 gets the best-ft value andθ_(23)together withδare in the lσrange,whileθ12 is in 3δrange of the best-fit *** effective neutrino masses are pre-dicted to be(m_(ee))=6.81 mev for the nH and(m_(ee))=48.48 mev for the IH,in good agreement with the most re-cent experimental data.

Recently gold nanoparticles(GnPs)have been actively studied as photot hermal converters,drug carriers,and imaging agents in a wide range of applications in cancer diagnosis and ther *** prolonged peroral administration of GnPs in a range of sizes was performed to investigate the morphological changes and their reversibility in the internal organs of laboratory *** this study,GnP's with average diameters of 2 nm,15 nm and 50nm were administered during 30 days,and the reversibility of morphological changes was investigated 14 days after *** the prolonged administration of GnPs,the severity of morphological changes in the liver,kidney,spleen and lymph nodes depended on the nanoparticle ***,50 nm nano-particles caused the most pronounced dystrophic and necrobiotic effects,whereas the smallest 2 nm nanoparticles caused proliferative *** importantly,the development of patho-logical processes was reversible,as evidenced by the gradual restoration of the organ structure at 14 days after the end of GnPs administration.

BACKGROUnD There is limited literature on managing the airway of patients with linear immunoglobulin A(IgA)bullous dermatosis,a rare mucocutaneous disorder that leads to the development of friable *** clinical decision making is necessary when there is a risk of bleeding into the airway,and a multidisciplinary team approach may lead to decreased patient morbidity during these high-risk scenarios,especially when confronted with an unusual cause for *** SUMMARY A 45-year-old African American female presented to our ambulatory surgical center for right corneal transplantation due to corneal perforation after blunt trauma in the setting of cicatricial conjunctivitis and diffuse corneal neovascularization from linear IgA bullous *** diagnosis of IgA dermatosis was recent,and the patient had been lost to *** severity of the disease and extent of airway involvement was unknown at the time of the *** airway bleeding was noticed upon intubation and the otorhinolaryngology team had to be called to the operating *** patient required transfer to the intensive care unit where a multidisciplinary team was involved in her *** patient was extubated on postoperative day *** A multidisciplinary approach to treating this disease is the best course of action before a surgical *** our case,key communication between the surgery,anesthesia,and dermatology teams led to the quick and safe treatment of our patient’s *** surgery should not be considered for these cases unless they are in full remission and there is no mucous membrane involvement.

Chalcopyrite and bornite are the main Au-bearing minerals at Cu porphyry deposits,volcanogenic massive sulfide(vMS)deposits,Cu-ni deposits of the mafic magmatic complexes,and ores of submarine sulfide *** and intermediate solid solutions with wide compositional variations(bnss and iss–high-temperature chalcopyrite,correspondingly),which can scavenge economic concentrations of Au,appear in the Cu-Fe-S system at ore-forming ***,the state of Au in bnss and iss is yet *** solve this conundrum,we synthesized samples with net chemical composition of bnss and iss,studied them by in situ X–ray absorption spectroscopy(XAS),and used the experimental data to explain the Au distribution among natural ore-forming *** sulfide samples were obtained at 495–700℃ in Au-saturated system by means of salt flux *** bnss contained1.2–1.6 log units more Au than iss:up to 18 wt.%Au in bnss vs 0.4 wt.%Au in iss at 700*** increase of temperature resulted in the sharp increase of Au concentration in both phases,1 log unit per 100℃ at f(S2)close to S_((l)) *** of Au L_(3)-edge spectra recorded at 25–675℃ revealed that at 25℃ Au exists mainly in the metallic *** t>500℃ the spectral features of Audisappear,and “chemically bound”Au *** Au form of occurrence in the iss field is interpreted as Au-bearing clusters with a stromeyerite-like(CuAgS)*** Cu_(2–x)S and bnss contain Au in a mixture of stromeyeritelike and petrovskaite-like(Au_(0.8)Ag_(1.2)S)*** chemical composition of both forms is close to CuAuS,where the nearest Au neighbors are two S atoms at R_(Au-S)=2.34–2.36Å.Results of the present study allow to determine the state of Au and its concentration in the main Cu-bearing minerals of sulfide ores as a function of the T-f(S_(2))-compositional *** to the sharp increase of the CuAuS clusters stability with increasing temperature,in high-temperature ores formed at t>350℃ A

DnA double-strand breaks(DSBs)are involved in many cellular mechanisms,including replication,transcription,and genome *** recent observation that hot spots of DSBs in human chromosomes delimit DnA domains that possess coordinately expressed genes suggests a strong relationship between the organization of transcription patterns and hot spots of *** this study,we performed mapping of hot spots of DSBs in a human 43-kb ribosomal DnA(rDnA)repeated *** observed that rDnA units corresponded to the most fragile sites in human chromosomes and that these units possessed at least nine specific regions containing clusters of extremely frequently occurring DSBs,which were located exclusively in non-coding intergenic spacer(IGS)*** hot spots of DSBs corresponded to only a specific subset of Dnase-hypersensitive sites,and coincided with CTCF,PARP1,and HnRnPA2B1 binding sites,and H3K4me3 *** rDnA-4C data indicate that the regions of IGS containing the hot spots of DSBs often form contacts with specific regions in different chromosomes,including the pericentromeric regions,as well as regions that are characterized by H3K27ac and H3K4me3 marks,CTCF binding sites,ChIA-PET and RIP signals,and high levels of *** data suggest a strong link between chromosome breakage and several different mechanisms of epigenetic regulation of gene expression.

The U-Pb isotope system and uranium isotope composition(235U/238U and 234U/238U)were studied in a number of samples from the vertical section of the uranium ore body at the vershinnoe sandstone-type deposit,vitim uranium ore district,*** parameters were determined to broadly *** of the 234U/238U ratio from the equilibrium value indicate that the uranium ore was not completely conserved during the postore stage,and uranium was determined to continue migrating at the *** of the U-Pb isotope age value and 234U/238U isotope ratio provides an insight into the migrate direction of uranium in the ore *** broad variations(137.377–137.772)in the 238U/235U ratio over the vertical section of the ore body can be explained by the different settings of the samples relative to the ore deposition front and changes in the redox conditions when this front *** fact that theδ238U and K234/238 values are correlated indicates that the transfer of the 234U isotope into the aqueous phase may have been coupled with isotope fractionation in the 238U-235U system during the postformation uranium migration within the orebody.
