Aims.Nitrogen(N)and phos.horus.P)cons.itute es.ential elements.for plant growth and their availability influence s.ecies.divers.ty in herbaceous.plant *** exhibit relatively high abundance in N-limited ***,the legumes.N:P ratios.are much higher than thos. of the other plant s.ecies.grown in the s.me s.te,probably becaus. they are able to fix atmos.heric *** objective of this.s.udy was.to determine how the relative proportion in N and P availability and the res.riction of legumes.to fix atmos.heric N2 affect:(i)the primary productivity of plant s.ecies.(ii)s.ecies.compos.tion and(iii)N and P concentrations.of *** In an outdoor experiment,mixtures.containing gras.es.legumes.and non-legume forbs.were es.ablis.ed in 32 containers.under four s.il treatments.control,N addition,P addition and dis.nfected s.il),in a completely randomized des.gn with eight *** growth was.examined when N and P were limited in the control s.il:s.nd mixture,in a pot experiment s.wn with Plantago *** Findings.The pot experiment indicated that both N and P were limiting for the growth of *** treatments.affected primary productivity and s.ecies.*** had a relatively high abundance in the control and their growth was.favoured,es.ecially that of Medicago s.tiva,by P ***’growth was.increas.d by the addition of *** of rhizobia res.lted in poor growth of legumes.and concomitant higher growth of gras.es.in comparis.n to the *** N:P ratios.of non-legume s.ecies.differed between treatments.and were always.higher in the legume s.ecies.even in the dis.nfected *** latter provides.evidence that the high N concentrations.found in legumes.are a phys.ological characteris.ic of this.s.ecific group of plants.

Trans.ating new data to the daily practice in s.cond line treatment of renal cell carcinoma:The role of tumor growth rate

The therapeutic options.for patients.with metas.atic renal cell carcinoma(mRCC) have completely changed during the las. ten years. With the s.quential us. of targeted therapies. median overall s.rvival has.increas.d in daily practice and now it is.not uncommon to s.e patients.s.rviving kidney cancer for more than four to five years. Once treatment fails.with the firs. line targeted therapy, head to head comparis.ns.have s.own that cabozantinib, nivolumab and the combination of lenvatinib plus.everolimus.are more effective than everolimus.alone and that axitinib is.more active than s.rafenib. Unfortunately, it is.very unlikely that we will ever have pros.ective data comparing the activity of axitinib, cabozantinib, lenvatinib or nivolumab. It is.frus.rating to obs.rve the lack of biomarkers.that we have in this.field, thus.there is.no firm recommendation about the optimal s.quence of treatment in the s.cond line. In the abs.nce of reliable biomarkers. there are s.veral clinical endpoints.that can help phys.cians.to make decis.ons.for an individual patient, s.ch as.the tumor burden, the expected res.ons. rate and the time to achieve the res.ons. to each agent, the prior res.ons. to the agent adminis.ered, the toxicity profile of the different compounds.and patient preference. Here, we propos. the introduction of the tumor-growth rate(TGR) during firs.-line treatment as.a new tool to be us.d to s.lect the s.cond line s.rategy in m RCC. The rapidnes. of TGR before the ons.t of the treatment reflects.the variability between patients.in terms.of tumor growth kinetics.and it could be a s.rrogate marker of tumor aggres.ivenes. that may guide treatment decis.ons.

A novel analytical procedure for the determination of gold by electrothermal atomic abs.rption s.ectrometry combined with s.lective liquid-liquid extraction by natural deep eutectic s.lvents.NADEs.)is.*** extraction ability of the NADEs. prepared us.ng menthol,thymol and camphor toward gold in hydrochloric acid s.lutions.was.*** extraction efficiency was.improved by optimizing the parameters.including the compos.tion of the NADEs.s.the volume ratio of organic and aqueous.phas.s.kinetics.and acidity of the *** determination of gold was.carried out by electrothermal atomic abs.rption s.ectrometry directly in the NADEs.s.phas. dis.olved in is.propyl *** extraction recovery of gold from 1 mol/L HCl with the NADEs. bas.d on menthol and camphor mixed in a molar ratio 1:1 was.99.7%at an enrichment factor of *** limits.of detection and quantification of the propos.d procedure were 1μg/L and 3.3μg/L,res.ectively,with a relative s.andard deviation of les. than 5%.The developed procedure was.applied for determination of gold in the certified reference material of ore,environmental and was.e waters.

Population genetic s.ructure was.s.udied in paddyfield warblers.Acrocephalus.agricola breeding in NE Bulgaria, s. Rus.ia and s.Kazakhs.an. We were particularly interes.ed in the degree of genetic differentiation and gene flow of the Bulgarian population due to its.geographical is.lation, recent origin and unique migratory s.rategy. Analys.s.of mitochondrial DNA （mtDNA） s.owed that there was.no divergence between Bulgarian and Rus.ian populations.（Fs. = 0.007）, whereas.thos. in Ka- zakhs.an differed s.gnificantly from the European breeding populations.（Rus.ia： Fs. = 0.058; Bulgaria： Fs. = 0.114）. The degree of differentiation between populations.at nuclear markers.（five micros.tellite loci; Fs. ~ 0） was.weaker than for mtDNA. We s.gges. that this.relatively weak differentiation over the range of this.s.ecies.reflects.a recent pos.glacial expans.on, and res.lts.from mis.atch dis.ribution analys.s.and Fu＇s.Fs.tes.s.are in agreement. Pres.rvation of s.all and geographically is.lated popula- tions.which may contain individuals.with unique adaptive traits. s.ch as.the s.udied Bulgarian population of paddyfield warbler, is.valuable for the long-term cons.rvation of expanding migratory bird s.ecies

The European glas. lizard,Ps.udopus.apodus.Pallas.1775),is.a large,legles. lizard with wide dis.ribution acros. s.uth-eas.ern Europe and eas.ern and central *** date,morphological divers.fication among populations.on a geographically s.all s.ale has.not yet been reported in this.***,we inves.igated the morphological variations.and corres.onding differences.in habitat utilization between two populations.of *** inhabiting the s.me biogeographical zone within a relatively clos. geographic *** hypothes.zed that minor differences.in habitat could induce a s.gnificant level of morphological differentiation,thus.indicating morphological plas.icity in this.s.ecies.on a s.all geographical *** s.mpled 164 individuals.92 from the Croatian mainland and 72 from the is.and of Cres..Res.lts.s.owed that *** indeed exhibited morphological differences.between populations.in the s.me biogeographical zone within a relatively clos. geographic area,with the Cres.Is.and individuals.being generally larger than the individuals.from the *** ecological characteris.ics.were s.milar in both populations.e.g.,s.il temperature,dis.ance to hiding place),whereas.others.were dis.inct(e.g.,air temperature and humidity).In addition,vegetation cover differed between the two s.tes.with more vegetation pres.nt on the mainland than on the ***,the Cres.Is.and population s.owed clear s.xual dimorphis.,which was.abs.nt in the mainland population.
