After conducting.a critical survey of the different categ.ries of existing.heat exchang.rs,the results of several experiments about the behaviour of a two-phase current in an open channel are *** results confirm the complexity of the problems induced in heat exchang.rs by flow maldistribution,especially when two-phase flows are considered in multi-channel *** is shown that severe misalig.ment of heat exchang.rs can lead to a loss of economic performance of more than 25%.Improper distribution of fluid flow causes long.r fluid coils to form,and the liquid cochlea can eventually occupy a larg. space,thereby reducing.heat transfer and disrupting.the considered biphasic *** use of a small diameter distribution pipe with properly spaced outlet holes seems to be a promising.approach to fix many of these *** is found that the current distribution in the channels,in addition to the header pressure distribution,also depends on factors such as the g.ometry and the initial flow reg.me in the header.

The Paulie’s principle is used for development of the orbital-free (OF) version of the density functional theory. On the example of the three-atomic clusters, Al3, Si3, and C3, it is shown that the OF approach may lead to equilibrium config.rations of atomic systems with both the metallic and covalent bonding. The equilibrium interatomic distances, interbonding.ang.es and binding.energ.es are found in g.od accordance with the known data. Results will be useful for developing.of theoretical study of hug. molecules and nanoparticles.

Understanding.of the biomechanics of the accommodative apparatus in the eyes with different refraction is important for solving.the problems of theoretical and practical ophthalmolog.. Purpose: To determine the chang.s of anterior eye seg.ent dimensions during.accommodation response in normal eyes and in patients with myopia, hypermetropia. Methods and Material: 116 eyes (56 patients ag.d from 18 to 30 years, refraction from -2.0 to + 2.0 D) were examined. All the patients underwent a full ophthalmolog.cal examination. The ocular anterior seg.ent was imag.d using.a rotational Scheimpflug.camera Pentacam HR (Oculus, Wetzlar, g.rmany) under non- and 3.0 D of accommodative demands. The statistical data were represented as the mean value ± standard deviation (M ± SD). The Shapiro-Wilk test was used to assess the normality distribution. Wilcoxon test was used for comparison. Results: Results showed an increase in the optical density of the crystalline lens, a pupil diameter decrease and chang.ng.of the iris profile during.accommodation in all patients. An increase in the total corneal aberrations and decrease in the corneal spherical aberration were revealed only in emmetropic eyes. Conclusions: The accommodative response is a multicomponent process. Scheimpflug.visualization revealed the differences in the accommodative response in normal and ametropic eyes.

Circulating.tumor cells(CTCs)play an important role in tumor metastases,which is positively correlated with an increased risk of ***-binding.proteins,including.cofilin(CFL1),profilin 1(PFN1),and adenylate cyclase-associated protein 1(CAP1),are thoug.t to be involved in tumor cell motility and metastasis,specifically in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC).However,currently,there are no published studies on CFL1,PFN1,and CAP1 in CTCs and leukocytes in HNSCC *** assessed serum levels of CFL1,PFN1,and CAP1 and the number of CTCs and leukocytes containing.these proteins in blood from 31 HNSCC patients(T1-4N0-2M0).The analysis used flow cytometry and an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay *** found that CAP1+CTCs and CAP1+leukocyte subpopulations were prevalent in these HNSCC patient samples,while the prevalence rates of CFL1+and PFN1+CTCs were relatively *** with stag. T2-4N1-2M0 had CFL1+and PFN1+CTCs with an elevated PFN1 serum level,compared with the T1-3N0M0 *** summary,the PFN1 serum level and the relative number of PFN1+CD326+CTCs could be valuable prog.ostic markers for HNSCC *** current study is the first to obtain data reg.rding.the contents of actin-binding.proteins(ABPs)in CTCs,and leukocytes in blood from HNSCC *** is also the first to assess the relationship between the number of CTCs subg.oups and disease characteristics.

Sensitive, hig.-resolution ion microprobe zircon U-Pb ag.s of Paleoproterozoic, hig.-g.ade, metasedimentary rocks from the south-western part of the Siberian Craton are reported. Early Precambrian, hig.-g.ade complexes, including.g.rnet-biotite, hypersthene-biotite, and cordierite- bearing.g.eisses compose the Irkut terrane of the Sharyzhalg.y Uplift. Protoliths of studied g.eisses correspond to terrig.nous sediments, rang.ng.from g.eywacke to shale. The parag.eiss model Nd ag.s of 2.4-3.1 g. indicate Archean-to-Paleoproterozoic source provinces. Zircons from g.eisses show corerim textures in cathodoluminescence （CL） imag.. Round or irreg.lar shaped cores indicate detrital orig.n. Structureless rims with low Th/U are metamorphic in orig.n. The three ag. g.oups of detrital cores are：〉2.7, -2.3, and 1.95-2 g.. The ag.s of metamorphic rims rang. from 1.86 to 1.85 g.; therefore, the sediments were deposited between 1.95 and 1.86 g. and derived from Archean and Paleoproterozoic source rocks. It should be noted that Paleoproterozoic metasedimentary rocks of the Irkut Block are not unique. Hig.-g.ade metaterrig.nous sediments, with model Nd ag.s rang.ng.from 2.3 to 2.5 g., are widely distributed within the Aldan and Anabar Shields of the Siberian Craton. The same situation is observed in the North China Craton, where metasedimentary rocks contain detrital ig.eous zircon g.ains with ag.s rang.ng.from 3 to 2.1 g. （Wan et al., 2006）. All of these sedimentary units were subjected to Late Paleoproterozoic metamorphism. In the Siberian Craton, the Paleoproterozoic sedimentary deposits are possibly marked passive marg.ns of the Early Precambrian crustal blocks, and their hig.-g.ade metamorphism was related to the consolidation of the Siberian Craton.

Ag.icultural land use in the area of the post-Chemobyl Plavsk radioactive hotspot (Tula reg.on,Central Russia) has raised a problem of radioecolog.cal safety of obtained plant *** of 137Cs activities and inventories in components of 'soil-plant' systems of the territory has been conducted in 2014-2017 in 10 ag.osystems and 2 semi-natural *** was revealed that density of 137Cs contamination of arable chernozems and alluvial calcareous soils nowadays varies in a rang. 140-220 kBq/m2 and exceeds radiation safety standard by^3.5-6 *** plowing.of the arable soils up to 30-cm in 1986-1987 resulted in decreasing.of 137Cs inventories in rooting.zone by ≈ 70% for crops cultivated with shallow disk plowing.(wheat,barley),and by ≈ 35% for crops cultivated with middle plowing.(buckwheat,amaranth,white mustard).The investig.ted plants and their compartments can be g.ouped on the basis of transfer factor values as follows:maize (stems and leaves)> amaranth> bromeg.ass > veg.tation of dry meadow,g.leg.,sunflower (seeds),veg.tation of wet meadow > maize (g.ain),soybean (pods),barley (g.ain),buckwheat (g.ain),potatoes (tubers)> white mustard (seeds),wheat (g.ain).It is noticeable that g.nerative plant compartments are characterized by less 137Cs activities in comparison with stems and leaves;and that 137Cs root uptake is not coincide with total flux of mineral nutrients in 'soil-plant' *** sum,137Cs soil-to-plant transfer in the area of the Plavsk radioactive hotspot is characterized by considerable discrimination,so 137Cs activities in plants are completely in accordance with national standards.

A protective role of the sex steroid hormone estrog.nin hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) was sug.ested a few decades ag. according.to clinical data showing.hig.er HCC morbidity and mortality among.males. Several recent studies further confirmed the anti-cancer effects of estrog.n in the liver. However, it remains to be identified how to exploit estrog.n sig.alling.within clinical setting. for HCC treatment. There are several unresolved issues related to the estrog.n pathway in liver cells. The main problems include the absence of a clear understanding.of which estrog.n receptor(ER) isoform is predominantly expressed in normal and malig.ant liver cells, the ER isoform expression difference between males and females, and which ER isoform should be targ.ted when desig.ing.HCC therapy. Some of those questions were recently addressed by Iyer and coauthors. The current editorial review critically analyses the study by Iyer et al(WJg. 2017) that investig.ted the expression of ER subtypes in liver samples collected from patients with a healthy liver, hepatitis C virus cirrhosis, and HCC. ER presence was evaluated in association with g.nder, intracellular localization, inflammation marker NF-kB, and proliferation-related effector cyclin D1. The study limitations and advantag.s are discussed in lig.t of recent advances in the HCC and estrog.n sig.alling.areas.
