Growth dynamic of bacterial population after influence of magnetic field and cryoaction has been studied. In v.tro experiments were performed on Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus, and Lactobacillus delbrueckii cultures. The most significant result was obtained in experiments with Bacillus cereus. When applied separately, cryoaction and alternating magnetic field were not able to kill this microorganism, whereas combined action of these factors led to the complete dev.talization of bacterial culture.

BACKGROUND： The possibility of dietary ginger to enhance oxidativ. stress resistance and to extend life span was studied on Drosophila melanogaster. METHODS： Oxidativ. stress was induced by a reducing agent dithiothreitol. Experimental groups of male D. melanogaster were cultured on media containing： 1） no additiv.; 2） dithiothreitol, added into the nutritional mixture to the final concentration of 10 mM; 3） 25 mg of ginger powder g^-1 of the nutritional mixture; and 4） 10 mM ofdithiothreitol and 25 mg of ginger powder g l of the nutritional mixture. The number of aliv. fruit flies was inspected daily, and mean life span was determined for each experimental group. RESULTS： The addition of dithiothreitol to D. melanogaster nutritional mixture was established to result in an increase in concentration of two markers of oxidativ. stress conditions （thiobarbituric acid reactiv. substances as products of lipid peroxidation and carbonylated proteins as products of protein oxidation） in fly tissues. It was followed by significant reduction of mean life span and maximum life span of the last 10% of flies. Plant preparation, being added simultaneously with dithiothreitol, significantly diminished the negativ. effects of this xenobiotic. In conditions of additional stress load induced by hydrogen peroxide or high temperature, surv.v.l of insects treated with dithiothreitol on the background of ginger powder was the highest. CONCLUSIONS： Thus, the presented data giv. the ev.dence that ginger preparations can reduce oxidativ. stress outcomes and significantly increase the life expectancy of fruit flies in stress conditions.

AIM To inv.stigate whether gut maturation could be induced precociously in an athymic T-cell deficient neonatal rat *** Fourteen day-old athymic(nude) rats(NIH-Foxn 1 rnu) were gav.ged with either phytohaemagglutinin-a lectin from red kidney beans(PHA); trypsin-a protease(Prot); or water-v.hicle(control) as a single dose on one day or once a day for 3-day. The nude rats were either nurtured by their mothers or cross-fostered by conv.ntional foster dams of the Sprague-Dawley strain from days 3-5 after birth. At 17 d of age, 72 h after administration of the first treatment, intestinal macromolecular permeability was tested in v.v., prior to euthanasia, after which blood and gut organs were *** Prov.cation with both, PHA and protease, resulted in increased gut growth and maturation in nude rat pupsindependent of nursing. Foetal-type enterocytes were replaced by non-v.cuolated adult-type enterocytes in the distal small intestine epithelium. Decreased intestinal macromolecular permeability(gut closure) was observ.d, with reduced permeability markers(BIg G and BSA, P v.d independent of nursing in the nude pups. Immunostaining showed the presence of a few CD3^+-cells in the intestinal mucosa of the nude pups. The number of CD3+-cells remained unaltered by prov.cation and no differences were observ.d between the nursing sets. Growth and v.tality of the nude pups were dependent on nurturing, since cross-fostering by conv.ntional dams increased their macromolecular absorptiv. capacity(BSA, P v. immunity(RIg G, P v.cation in athymic rat pups, similarly to in euthymic pups, thus showing an independence from thymusderiv.d T-cells.

The main disadv.ntage of known thermistors is the weak sensitiv.ty to a magnetic field what does not allow to control appreciably the resistance of a thermistor with the help of magnetic field. In addition, such a control is possible only at low temperatures. The new in the claimed technical solution is that the electrical contacts for a thermosensitiv. element are made of tin, and these contacts are able to inject nonequilibrium charge carriers into a thermosensitiv. element. The injection coefficient of contacts depends on the v.lue of magnetic field which leads to an increase in the magnetic susceptibility of the thermistor. The new also is the production of a thermosensitiv. element from single-crystal germanium with the concentration of impurities less than thermodynamically equilibrium concentration of charge carriers at the temperature defined as ＂cold resistance＂ of a thermistor, i.e., the conduction is close to the intrinsic conduction at the abov.-mentioned temperature.

Proactiv. psychological and psychiatric support of patients with chronic noncommunicable diseases in a randomised trial:a Ukrainian experience

Background Presently, approaches for the early treatment of pathological anxiety in patients with chronic non-communicable diseases are lacking, thus delaying the initiation of symptom management at the early onset of the illness. Proactiv. psychological and psychiatric support, to allev.ate subclinical symptoms of anxiety and to improv. the quality of life in patients with chronic non-communicable diseases, is a promising candidate for the role of such *** To inv.stigate and determine the effectiv.ness of proactiv. psychological and psychiatric support for allev.ating subclinical symptoms of anxiety and improv.ng quality of life, in patients with chronic non-communicable *** The study design was a monocentric randomised controlled trial with parallel groups. The study, inv.lv.ng 193 inpatients with chronic non-communicable diseases, complied with the ethical and deontological norms in accordance with the principles set out in the Declaration of Helsinki. Instruments used in the study included the Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAM-A) to assess subclinical symptoms, the Scale of Somatic Symptoms and the Chaban Quality of Life Scale. Block randomisation was used to randomise patients to a 2-month-long study group with a proactiv. counselling psychiatry model care or a control group with standard regulated treatment for chronic non-communicable diseases. The allocation ratio was 1.15:1 owing to the expectancy of a higher percentage of dropout in the interv.ntion *** After 60 days of treatment (T2), there was a statistically significant difference in all clinical parameters between the study and control groups. The median HAM-A v.lue differed between the groups by 4.87 points, with statistically significant lower results in the study group. On the model of Cu-induced liv.r fibrosis, the relationship between the activ.ty of prooxidant-antioxidant system, immune system parameters, liv.r morphology and sev.ral physiological parameters (body temperature and performance ability of the animals, taking into account their ages) was inv.stigated. Classical biochemical, immunological, histological and physiological methods of inv.stigation were used. The subjects of the study were male Wistar rats of 3-month (young) and 20-month (old) age. For the induction of liv.r fibrosis, experimental animals were successiv.ly injected with copper sulfate (three times at interv.ls of 24 hours at a dose corresponding to 33% of the lethal one). It was shown that after fiv. days of sulfate copper administration inflammatory reactions in the liv.r, damage of the v.ssel epithelium, an increase in collagen content, and other morphological changes were detected. At this time, the content of lipid hydroperoxides in the liv.r and blood serum was increased, the activ.ty of a number of antioxidant enzymes was reduced, and the activ.ty of aconitase was two times less compared to v.lues in the control group. These changes correlated with a decrease in the amount and activ.ty of phagocytic cells in the blood of experimental animals. Inhibition of the general metabolism was accompanied by a decrease in body temperature, loss of body weight and performance ability. The relationship between a specific metabolic pattern in animals with Cu-induced fibrosis was age-dependent. The formed specific adaptiv. metabolic pattern is unstable, and in the future it can be realized in one of three possible adaptiv. strategies, the choice of which is influenced by age.

Today, the most urgent problem of the existing and future nuclear power industry is to ensure the nuclear and env.ronmental safety of the operation of nuclear power reactor units (NPPs) and nuclear power plants (NPPs). It is solv.d thanks to the application of deeply echeloned protection and an anti-accident complex of methods and means for effectiv. control of the operation of activ. reactor zones (AZR). Howev.r, the danger of existing NPPs in the world from time to time manifests itself in the form of sev.re post-project accidents and catastrophes with the release into the env.ronment of a significant amount of radioactiv. materials dangerous for all liv.ng things. The results of the analysis show that the unconditional fulfillment of the main requirements of nuclear env.ronmental safety and biocompatibility is possible only in the so-called wav. nuclear reactor of the G-v.generation, which, unlike reactors of the prev.ous generations III, II+ and Iv. does not require supercritical loading of the core with nuclear fuel. In the activ. zone of this reactor, nuclear-physical processes gov.rned by physical law are implemented, which exclude the operator’s participation in regulating the reactiv.ty of the reactor’s activ. zone, which makes it the reactor with the highest lev.l of nuclear and env.ronmental safety today, which is based on the principles of so-called internal safety, free from the human factor. The possibility of burning nuclear fuel based on U238 and Th232 in it expands the reserv.s of energetic nuclear fuel almost to inexhaustibility. The technology of nuclear reactors of the G5 generation through the secondary use of spent irradiated nuclear fuel (SNF) for the production of energy and energy raw materials with simultaneous burning of it to an env.ronmentally safe state is able to quickly reduce the av.ilable stocks and further production of dangerous SNF, guarantee the nuclear and env.ronmental safety of NPPs with reactors G5 and to technologically mak
