Lanthanum carbonate is used for treatment of hyperphosphatemia mostly in patients with chronic renal *** lanthanum carbonate is safe,recently,lanthanum deposition in the gastrointestinal mucosa of patients has been reported in the *** review provides an overview of gastroduodenal lanthanum deposition and focuses on disease's endoscopic,radiological,and histological features,prevalence,and outcome,by reviewing relevant clinical studies,case reports,and basic research findings,to better understand the endoscopic manifestation of gastrointestinal lanthanum *** possible relationship between gastric lanthanum deposition pattern and gastric mucosal atrophy is also illustrated;in patients without gastric mucosal atrophy,gastric lanthanum deposition appears as diffuse white lesions in the posterior wall and lesser curvature of the gastric *** the gastric mucosa with atrophy,lanthanum-related lesions likely appear as annular or granular whitish ***,these white lesions are probably more frequently observed in the lower part of the stomach,where intestinal metaplasia begins.

Despite the global implementation of COVID-19 mitigation measures,the disease continues to maintain *** mask wearing became one of the key measures for preventing the transmission of COVID-19 early in the pandemic period,many countries have relaxed the mandatory or recommended wearing of *** objective of the present study was to estimate the epidemiological impact of removing the mask-wearing recommendation in *** developed a model to assess the consequences of declining mask-wearing coverage after the government revoked its recommendation in February *** declining mask-wearing coverage was estimated using serial cross-sectional data,and a mathematical model was devised to determine the age-specific incidence of COVID-19 using the observed case count in Tokyo from week of October 3,2022 to October 30,*** explored model-based counterfactual scenarios to measure hypothetical situations in which the mask-wearing coverage decreases or increases relative to the observed *** results show that mask-wearing coverage declined from 97%to 69%by the week of October 30,2023,and that if the mask-wearing recommendation had continued,427 lives could have been saved in *** the mask-wearing coverage had declined to 25%of the observed level,the model suggests there might have been 1587 additional ***,revoking the mask-wearing recommendation had a substantial epidemiological *** future pandemics,our proposed approach could provide a realtime quantification of the effects of relaxing countermeasures.

The T cell dependence of polyclonal B lymphocyte activation (PBA) induced by one of the most important periodontopathic bacteria, Actinomyces Viscosus T14V, was investigated. Human PBL, together with Av-sup, were cocultured without or with anti-IL-2 and IL-6 monoclonal antibodies for 6 days, and cultural supernatants were harvested every 12 hours for measuring IgG, IgM, IL-2 and IL-6 activity. The results showed that (1) Av-sup was able to activate human peripheral B lymphocytes polyclonally and induce them to synthesize immunoglobulins; (2) Av-sup could also induce human PBL to produce IL-2 and IL-6 , but peaks of activity of both IL-2 and IL-6 appeared earlier than those of IgG and IgM; (3) anti-IL-2 and anti-IL-6 monoclonal antibodies could obviously depress the production of IgG and IgM, respectively, and furthermore, combined application of these two monoclonal antibodies could almost completely block the synthesis of IgG and IgM. Newly-generated Daliangshan Fault Zone—Shortcutting on the central section of Xianshuihe-Xiaojiang fault system

The Daliangshan fault zone is the eastern branch in the central section of Xianshuihe-Xiaojiang fault system. It has been neglected for a long time, partly because of no destructive earthquake records along this fault zone. On the other hand, it is located on the remote and inaccessible plateau. So far it was excluded as part of the Xianshuihe-Xiaojiang fault system. Based on the interpretation of aerophotographs and field investigations, we document this fault zone in detail, and give an estimation of strike-slip rate about 3 mm/a in Late Quaternary together with age dating data. The results suggest that the Daliangshan fault zone is a newly-generated fault zone resulted from shortcutting in the central section of Xianshuihe-Xiaojiang fault system because of the clockwise rotation of the Southeastern Tibetan Crustal Block, which is bounded by the Xianshuihe-Xiaojiang fault system. Moreover, the shortcutting may make the Daliangshan fault zone replace the Anninghe and Zemuhe fault zones gradually, and finally, the later two fault zones will probably die out with the continuous clockwise rotation.

Photoluminescence, scintillation and thermally-stimulated luminescence properties of Tb-doped 12CaO·7Al2O3 single crystals grown by FZ method

Tb-doped 12CaO·7Al_2O_3（Tb：C12A7） crystals were synthesized by the floating zone（FZ） method and the photoluminescence（PL）, scintillation and thermally-stimulated luminescence（TSL） properties were investigated. The photoluminescence（PL） emission spectra and PL decay time profiles were investigated by using Quantaurus-tau（Hamamatsu）. The scintillation spectra and decay time profiles were measured by using our laboratory-constructed set-up under X-ray irradiation. Finally, TSL glow curve was measured by using Nanogray TL-2000 with the heating rate of 1 °C/s. In PL and scintillation, emission peaks were observed at 493, 543, 587 and 620 nm due to the 4f-4f transitions of Tb3~＋. Decay time constants of the emission by PL and scintillation appeared to be different, and the measured values were approximately 2.4 and 1.9 ms, respectively. After X-ray irradiations, the 0.5%（all Tb contents in this paper are in mole fraction） and 1.0% Tb-doped samples showed a single intense and broad glow peak around 100 oC while 1.2%–1.5% Tb-doped samples showed notable additional peak around 250 oC.
