HIV/AIDS is an immune deficiency disease, caused by an RNA virus (positively charged pathogen). It is still being regarded as mysteriously incurable but in Nigeria many patients have been cured (they became HIV-antibody and antigen negative) by exploiting electrostatic attraction between pathogens and opposite electrical charges that are on Nanoparticles of Medicinal synthetic Aluminum-magnesium silicate (MSAMS) and by using antioxidants to relieve oxidative stress. To confirm the cure, as permanent, a patient (adult male) whose CD4 count increased (P om 685 to 820 while his viral load became undetectable (e became HIV-negative (antibody and antigen) following the treatment, was tested, every month, post treatment, for HIV-antibody. He has remained HIV-negative for 10 months without being on any antiretroviral medicine (ARV). Longest window period (period HIV-infected person may test antibody-negative) is only 6 months. These results confirm that treatment with the MSAMS and antioxidants normalizes immunity and terminates HIV-infections.

Dynamic stress concentration in an infinitely long cylindrical cavity due to a point spherical source embedded within a fluid-saturated poroelastic formation of infinite extent

The effects of a harmonically exciting monopole source on an infinitely long cylindrical cavity embedded entirely within a fluid-saturated poroelastic formation of infinite extent are examined theoretically. It is assumed that the source is located outside the cavity at a specified distance from the borehole axis. The magnitudes of the hoop and radial stresses beside the pore pressures exerted on the interface and inside the porous medium surrounding the borehole are calculated and discussed. Biot's poroelastic modeling along with three types of boundary conditions for the cylindrical interface including the ideal fluid, empty borehole, and rigid inclusion with a hard boundary is employed for the analysis. Utilizing a proper translational addition theorem for expressing the incident spherical wave in terms of cylindrical wave expansions, the proposed boundary conditions at the interface are satisfied. Stresses are formulated by means of wave potential functions in a three-dimensional(3D) manner. The effects of the frequency and the radial distance between the source and borehole on the induced stresses are examined for the first cylindrical modes over frequency spectra. Two permeability conditions for the interface and three types of soils for the porous formation are considered throughout the analysis. To give an overall outline of the study, a numerical example is presented. The results clearly indicate that the distance is a key parameter and has considerable effects on the induced stress values. In addition, the interface permeability condition and soil characteristics play an important role in determining the dynamic response of the borehole. Finally,the obtained results are compared with the relevant analyses existing in the literature for some limit cases, and good agreement is achieved.

Data modelling for crude oil migration studies using ranking method: a rapid geo-tracer technique for geochemists

The direction of oil charges within a field in the Niger Delta, Nigeria was determined by the sum of differences ranking method of carbazole concentrations after ascertaining other possible geological constraints on their compositional variations. The principle is that the smaller the sum, the closer the well to the source kitchen. The approach makes use of carbazoles' interaction with the matrix, which leads to a reduction in their concentration with increasing distance from the source kitchen, allowing prediction of the charging direction. A wide range of compositional variations was observed for C1(806.72–2152.90 lg/g) and C2(767–2469.72 lg/g) carbazoles within the field. Based on these results, we inferred a filling pathway orientation from west to east. This suggests that the source kitchen—the most promising region for oil exploration—is located in the western part of the oil field.

Cells,tissues,and organs are constantly subjected to the action of mechanical forces from the extracellular environment-and the nervous system is no ***-intrinsic properties such as membrane lipid composition,abundance of mechanosensors,and cytoskeletal dynamics make cells more or less likely to sense these *** and extrinsic cues are integrated by cells and this combined information determines the rate and dynamics of membrane protrusion growth or retraction(Yamada and Sixt,2019).Cell protrusions are extensions of the plasma membrane that play crucial roles in diverse contexts such as cell migration and neuronal synapse *** the nervous system,neurons are highly dynamic cells that can change the size and number of their pre-and postsynaptic elements(called synaptic boutons and dendritic spines,respectively),in response to changes in the levels of synaptic activity through a process called *** plasticity is a hallmark of the nervous system and is present throughout our lives,being required for functions like memory formation or the learning of new motor skills(Minegishi et al.,2023;Pillai and Franze,2024).

Application of supervised machine learning to predict the enhanced gas recovery by Co_(2) injection in shale gas reservoirs

The technique of enhanced Gas Recovery by Co_(2) injection(Co_(2)-eGR)into shale reservoirs has brought increasing attention in the recent ***_(2)-eGR is a complex geophysical process that is controlled by several parameters of shale properties and engineering ***,more challenges arise when simulating and predicting Co_(2)/CH4 displacement within the complex pore systems of ***,the petroleum industry is in need of developing a cost-effective tool/approach to evaluate the potential of applying Co_(2) injection to shale *** recent years,machine learning applications have gained enormous interest due to their high-speed performance in handling complex data and efficiently solving practical ***,this work proposes a solution by developing a supervised machine learning(ML)based model to preliminary evaluate Co_(2)-eGR *** used for this work was drawn across a wide range of simulation sensitivity studies and experimental *** this work,linear regression and artificial neural networks(ANNs)implementations were considered for predicting the incremental enhanced *** on the model performance in training and validation sets,our accuracy comparison showed that(ANNs)algorithms gave 15%higher accuracy in predicting the enhanced CH4 compared to the linear regression *** ensure the model is more generalizable,the size of hidden layers of ANNs was adjusted to improve the generalization ability of ANNs *** ANNs models presented,ANNs of 100 hidden layer size gave the best predictive performance with the coefficient of determination(R2)of 0.78 compared to the linear regression model with R2 of *** developed MLbased model presents a powerful,reliable and cost-effective tool which can accurately predict the incremental enhanced CH4 by Co_(2) injection in shale gas reservoirs.

Household environmental Factors and Childhood Morbidity in South-Western Nigeria

This study investigates household environmental factors and childhood morbidity in South-western Nigeria. To determine patterns of household environ- mental characteristics in south-western Nigeria, both primary and secondary data were employed in the study. The primary data were obtained through in-depth interviews （IDIs） with women of childbearing age who have at least a child within the last 5 years in two randomly selected states, oyo and osun states, in south-west Nigeria, while the secondary data were extracted from the 2013 Nigeria Demo- graphic Health Surveys （NDHS） designed to elicit information from 33,385 women of ages between 15 and 49 years in randomly selected households across all the states in Nigeria and the Federal Capital, Abuja. Three remarkable contributions were obtained：（i） the prevalence of childhood disease is high among homes with poor household environmental facilities; （ii） incidence of childhood diseases is greatly influenced by poor toilet facilities, biomass source of cooking fuel and unhealthy type of roofing material; （iii） age of mothers, mothers＇ educational status, wealth index and access to health facility were found to have a significant rela- tionship with childhood diseases. Therefore, it is confirmed that poor household environmental condition and low socio-economic status impede child health in South-western Nigeria.

objective:Malaria remains the single leading killer of children in sub - Sahara Africa and Schistosomiasis is considered to be second to malaria in global *** - infection of malaria and urinary schistosomiasis has been reported to exacerbate disease morbidity such as *** different part of the globe,the co - infection between malaria and schistosomiasis provides some protections on the infected *** protective effect of this co - infection elucidated immunologically using cytokines is lacking in our ***:Urine and blood samples obtained from the 160 volunteers were subjected to standard parasitological techniques for diagnosis of urinary schistosomiasis and malaria *** samples collected from these volunteers comprising 80 children with schistosomiasis and malaria and the 80 children who had malaria only were subjected to cytokines concentration determination using commercial standard enzyme linked immunosorbent assay kits(Abeam,UK).Results:eighty participants with co - infection had a mean malarial parasitaemia of 662±201.1μL while the 80 participants with only *** malaria had a mean malarial parasiteamia of 5943±3270.7μ*** the volunteers had mean haemoglobin of 11.2 g/dL for co - infected individuals and 5.7 g/dL for participants with single infection of *** serum cytokine levels of the children with S. haematobium and *** and only *** infection are as follows;interleukin - 4(16.6 pg/ mL versus 5.2 pg/mL),IL - 5(501.3 pg/mL versus 357.5 pg/mL);IL -8(2 550 pg/mL versus 309 pg/mL),IL - 10(273 pg/mL versus 290 pg/mL),TNF -α(25 pg/mL versus 290 pg/mL) and IFN -γ(21.9 pg/mL versus 2.5 pg/mL).The TNF -α/IL - 10 ratio is 7 for the children with co - infection while those with only *** malaria infection had a TNF -α/IL - 10 ratio of ***:We conclude that the elevated IL - 4,IL - 5,IL - 8 and IFN -γconcentration induced by schistosomiasis altered the Th1/Th 2 profile a
