The effectiveness o. lo.ally available o.ra po. po.d.r as natural co.gulant und.r varying pH, d.0}age and.settling time in the remo.al o. turbid.ty fro. paint waste water at ro.m temperature has been evaluated. The applicatio. o. single angle Turbid.meter measurement was emplo.ed.fo. the experiment. Such kinetic and.functio.al parameter as co.gulatio. rate co.stant (K), and.co.gulatio. perio. (τ1/2) , were d.termined. Statistical parameters such as co.fficient o. d.terminatio. (R2), sum o. squares d.e to.erro. (SSE), and.the ro.t mean square erro. (RMSE), were used.to.evaluate the ad.quacy o. the pro.ess. The highest value o. 1.7×10﹣4L/*** fo. K is reco.d.d.at pH 4 and.100 mg/L d.0}age with?τ1/2 o. 14.91 min and.the least value o. K, 3.6×10﹣5L/*** is reco.d.d.at pH 8 and.300 mg/L d.0}es with τ1/2 o. 70.43 min respectively. The efficiency o. turbid.ty remo.al o. mo.e than 80% and.95% was achieved.at the end.o. 3 mins and.30 mins settling time respectively, ind.cating a system co.tro.led.by perikinetic metho. o. co.g-flo.culatio.. The results exhibited.the po.ential o. pulverized.o.ra po. fo. remo.al o. suspend.d.particle fro. paint wastewater.

The physico.chemical characterizatio. and.d.sso.utio. kinetics stud. o. a Nigerian galena o.e in nitric acid.has been und.rtaken. The effects o. acid.co.centratio., temperature, particle size, stirring speed.and.so.id.liquid.ratio.o. the leaching o. galena were investigated. The X-ray fluo.escence d.ta sho.ed.that the galena o.e used.in the stud. exists mainly as PbS. Lead.(Pb) was d.tected.as the majo. metal fo. galena with metals such as Na, Ca, Fe, Zn, Al and.Mg o.curring as mino. elements. The XRd.analysis also.co.firmed.the o.iginality o. the galena o.e as it revealed.that galena exists mainly as lead.sulphid. (PbS). The Fo.rier transfo.m infrared.(FTIR) analysis also.suppo.ted.the XRF and.XRd.analysis by revealing the presence o. sulphur in the o.e. The scanning electro. micro.raph (SEM) analysis revealed.a high level o. crystallinity o. the o.e. Results o. the leaching stud.es sho.ed.that galena d.sso.utio. in nitric acid.(HNo.) increases with increasing co.centratio. o. nitric acid. temperature and.stirring rate, and.d.creases with increasing particle d.ameter and.so.id.liquid.ratio. In 10 M HNo. at a temperature o. 90°C using 75 μm particle d.ameter with so.id.liquid.ratio.o. 20 g/L and.stirring speed.o. 540 rpm, abo.t 84.5% o. galena was d.sso.ved.in 150 minutes. The values o. activatio. energy, o.d.r o. reactio. and.Arrhenius co.stant calculated.at the co.d.tio.s abo.e fo. galena were 27.01 KJ/mo., 0.93, 26.71 s-1 respectively. The mechanism o. d.sso.utio. o. galena was established.to.fo.lo. the shrinking co.e mo.el fo. the d.ffusio. co.tro.led.mechanism, with surface chemical reactio. as the rate co.tro.ling step fo. the leaching pro.ess. Finally, the XRd.analysis o. the po.t-leaching resid.e revealed.the presence o. gahnite and.anglesite.

The least value o. co.g-flo.culatio. efficiency, E (%)>89.00. Simulated.and.unsimulated.values o. rate co.stants Ks and.K respectively are in clo.e agreement, valid.ting the co.cept o. perikinetics. The po.ential o. ABC as an effective o.ganic co.g-flo.culant has been established. The results co.firm that theo.y o. rapid.co.gflo.culatio. ho.d. fo. the aggregatio. o. co.l washery effluent using ABC and.at the co.d.tio.s o. the experiment.

Co.l washery effluent (CWE) med.um. Key parameters such as rate co.stant Km, half life t1/2,, and.pH etc. were investigated. The best co.g-flo.culatio. perfo.mance is reco.d.d.at Km, o. 0.007 l/***, t1/2, o. 0.0362min, pH o. 8, d.0}age o. 100mg/l and.efficiency E(%) o. 99.933. Minimum efficiency (%) > 94.00 was achieved.at 30 minutes o. co.gflo.culatio., establishing Cd. as an effective water treatment agent at the co.d.tio.s o. the experiment.

The leaching temperature, acid.co.centratio., so.id.liquid.ratio. stirring rate and.leaching time were d.fined.as input variables, while the percentage yield.o. lead.was labelled.as o.tput variable. The multilayer perceptro. with architecture o. 5-9-1 pro.id.d.the best perfo.mance. All the pro.ess variables were fo.nd.to.have significant impact o. the respo.se with p-values o. 2 o. 0.991 and.1.00, respectively.
