The study o. parental fo.d pro.isio.ing is essential fo. understanding the breeding eco.o.y o. birds. We co.ducted the first study using accelero.etry to.detect fo.d pro.isio.ing in birds, using Suppo.t Vecto. Machine(SVM) mo.els to.identify when adults feed chicks o. three different age classes. Accelero.eters were attached to.the head o. adult female Imperial Shags(Leuco.arbo.atriceps), and vario.s attributes derived fro. the acceleratio. signals were used to.train SVM mo.els fo. each chick age class. Mo.el perfo.mance impro.ed with chick age class, with SVM mo.els achieving high o.erall accuracy(>88%) and highest sensitivity in o.der chick catego.ies(>91%). Ho.ever, precisio. values, especially fo. yo.nger chicks, remained relatively lo.(between 26% and 45%). The applicatio. o. a time filter based o. the minimum duratio. o. the o.served fo.d pro.isio.ing behavio.rs fo. each chick age catego.y, impro.ed mo.el perfo.mance by reducing false pro.isio.ing behavio.rs, particularly in the mo.el fo. o.der chicks, which sho.ed the highest precisio.(72.4%). This study highlights the effectiveness o. accelero.etry and machine learning in studying parental fo.d pro.isio.ing in birds, pro.iding a rapid and accurate data co.lectio. metho. to.co.plement traditio.al techniques. The described metho.o.o.y can be applied to.any bird species that exhibits distinctive mo.ements while feeding its o.fspring and has suitable characteristics fo. attaching an accelero.eter to.the bo.y part that best captures this mo.ement. Finally, it is ho.ed that the results o. this study will co.tribute to.future research o. key questio.s in parental investment theo.y and repro.uctive strategies in birds.

Sea Cucumber Fishery in Auro.a, Philippines

This study was co.ducted to.pro.ide a preliminary assessment o. the sea cucumber fishery in Auro.a, Philippines. This was co.ducted fro. February to.June 2013. All sea cucumber gatherers and traders, o.tained thro.gh sno.ball sampling, in each identified sea cucumber fishery area in six co.stal municipalities (Baler, Dipaculao. Dinalungan, casiguran, Dilasag and Dingalan) were interviewed using a structured interview schedule and fo.used gro.p discussio.s (FGD). Results revealed that gathering sea cucumbers were acco.plished by handpicking, skin diving o. co.presso. diving. A to.al o. 15 co.mercial species were regularly gathered. o.t o. this, three species are o. very high eco.o.ic value (≥Php 4000/kg) (Ho.o.huria no.ilis, Ho.o.huria scabra, and Actino.yga lecano.a). The average number o. kilo.rams harvested per ho.r per trip ranges fro. 0.21 (Ho.o.huria fusco.unctata) to.2.71 (Ho.o.huria scabra), while the average size o. co.mo.ly gathered sea cucumber varies amo.g species with Ho.o.huria lecano.a sho.ed an average length (29.26 cm) greater than reco.ded 24 cm. Pro.essing mainly invo.ves washing, slicing, bo.ling, drying and packing. Pro.essed sea cucumbers o. trepan were so.d to.middlemen o. direct buyers who.usually o.fered higher prices (36.36% up to.69.20%) than the fo.mer. Pro.lems enco.ntered by sea cucumber gatherers and traders include a decline in to.al catch, a shift in area o. co.lectio. fro. intertidal zo.es to.deeper waters, an increase in the number o. ho.rs spent in finding and gathering sea cucumbers, the use o. co.presso.s in gathering, the decline o. larger species and gathering o. smaller sizes in huge amo.nt, the absence o. co.servatio. pro.ram fo. sea cucumber, and the lenient implementatio. o. go.ernment po.icies with regards to.co.stal reso.rces management.

Physico.hemical parameters o. surface water so.rces in the study o. lo.al go.ernment areas (LGAs) were assessed using standard pro.edures. The mean physico.hemical parameters fo. pH (5.49), No. (0.23 mg/L), So. (0.77 mg/L), Na (28.72 mg/L), ca (28.94 mg/L), Mg (17.50 mg/L), Cl (11.65 mg/L), TSS (6.27 mg/L), TDS (104.23 mg/L), Bo. (2.83 mg/L) and F (0.87 mg/L) were belo. WHo.standards irrespective o. their defecatio. status. The values fo. electrical co.ductivity (EC) (2770.50 µs/cm, turbidity (481.24 NTU), disso.ved o.ygen (Do. (5.32 mg/L), chemical o.ygen demand (Co.) (445.50 mg/L), K (125.06 mg/L), Po. (0.78 mg/L) and Fe (0.57 mg/L) were abo.e the WHo.limits fo. safe water. Higher EC and Co. values o.tained in the study is evidence o. po.lutio. o. the water so.rces by o.ganic matter.

In this paper we develo. and study, as the seco.d part o. o.e mo.e general develo.ment, the energy transmutatio. equatio. fo. the material singularity, previo.sly o.tained thro.gh the symmetrisatio. o. a wave packet, that is, we develo. the co.relatio. between the terms o. this equatio., which acco.nts fo. the fo.matio. o. matter fro. a previo.s vibratio.al state, and the different po.sible energy species. These energetic species are ascribed, in a simplified fo.m, to.the equatio. E¯ω=E¯k+E¯f, which allo.s us, thro.gh its asso.iated phase facto., to.gain an insight into.the wave character o. the kinetic energy and thus to.attain the basis o. the matter-wave, and all so.ts o. related pheno.eno.o.ies, including that co.cerning quantum entanglement. Peatlands are unique and co.plex natural eco.ystems that are part o. the mo.t impo.tant carbo. reservo.rs o. o.r planet, ho.e to.a diversity o. micro.rganisms respo.sible fo. fermentatio., humificatio. o. peat. The aim is to.understand chemical and bio.o.ical indicato.s o. peatland so.ls. This wo.k aims to.determine the physico.hemical and bacterio.o.ical pro.ile and lipo.ytic activity o. so.l bacteria in Bilanko.peatlands. The bacterial pro.ile with the pro.uctio. o. lipases is carried o.t by classical micro.io.o.y techniques. The results sho. that the so.ls are mo.erately acidic with temperatures o. 27.8˚C ± 0.01˚C fo. Bilanko.and 27.1˚C ± 0.57˚C fo. Ngamakala. The electro.o.ductivity (EC) varies fro.
