Energetic Analysis and Working Fluids Selection for a New Power and Refrigeration Combined Ecological System

The main purpose of this study is to analyze the performance of a new system that combines organic Rankine Cycle(ORC) and vapor compression refrigeration cycle(VCRC) for refrigeration and cogeneration. This system uses low-temperature heat sources such as solar energy, geothermal, industrial waste heat and biomass. The novelty of the proposed system manifests itself essentially in: the development of new ORC-VCRC combination architecture, lowering the ORC condensing temperature, the possibility of refrigeration production by the ORC upstream of the pumping phase, preheating of ORC using VCRC fluid and new configurations based on the integration of heat recovery systems to improve the overall system performance. The first part of this study presents the energetic analysis for the basic system using different working fluids and investigation of the operating parameters effect on the system performance(The system performance is described by the ORC thermal efficiency, the VCRC coefficient of performance and the system overall efficiency). Ten working fluids have been selected in order to provide the most adequate candidates for the proposed system. The results showed that the heating temperature and the cooling temperature have a significant effect on the system performance. The choice of fluid was also mentioned;the obtained results confirmed that the best combination for the basic system is R236fa-acetone. Four system configurations are developed and analyzed in the second part of the study. Also in the same part of the study, we will compare these configurations in terms of the performance rate retained. In the last part, we will make a comparison of this new system with another system.

Electrolytic Co-Deposition Mechanisms, Texture Layers, and Residual Stresses in Nanocomposite Coatings Processes: A Review

The composite coating has gained wider attention due to its property to protect materials used in energy, bridges, offshore platforms, underground pipelines, and the aviation industry from corrosion and deterioration. In this work, a literature review was conducted about the processes of nanocomposite coating, the mechanisms of electrolytic co-deposition, the texture of layers, and the residual stresses. An important aspect, residual stress, was emphasized, which represents the persistent stress after removing the external force affecting a metal in the plastic region. Because it cannot be measured directly and may be determined by measuring strain and indirect methods, the sources and methods for measuring residual stresses (XRD, SEM, TEM, EDS) were described in the last section to provide a comprehensive overview. Based on the thorough analysis of the published literature, it was concluded that nanoparticles could be electrodeposited with Ni on an Al substrate using a direct current and Ni sulfamate as an electrolytic solution, and Nickel will not reside on the oxide layer covering Al, so chemical changes are needed to prepare the Al surface. In addition, texture changes with the thickness of the coated layer must be investigated.

The formula Φ is in a conjunctive normal form （CNF） if it is a conjunction of clauses. Each clause, in turn, is a disjunction of literals, and a literal is a variable or its negation.

Removal of phosphate ions from aqueous solution using Tunisian clays minerals and synthetic zeolite

Phosphate ions are usually considered to be responsible for the algal bloom in receiving water bodies and aesthetic problems in water. From the environmental point of view, the management of such contaminant and valuable resource is very important. The present work deals with the removal of phosphate ions from aqueous solutions using kaolinitic and smectic clay minerals and synthetic zeolite as adsorbent. The pH effect and adsorption kinetic were studied. It was found that phosphate could be efficiently removed at acidic pH （between 4 and 6） and the second order model of kinetics is more adopted for all samples. The isotherms of adsorption of phosphate ions by the two clays and the zeolite samples show that the zeolite has the highest rate of uptake （52.9 mg P/g）. Equilibrium data were well fitted with Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm.

Neural network based adaptive sliding mode control of uncertain nonlinear systems

The purpose of this paper is the design of neural network-based adaptive sliding mode controller for uncertain unknown nonlinear systems. A special architecture adaptive neural network, with hyperbolic tangent activation functions, is used to emulate the equivalent and switching control terms of the classic sliding mode control （SMC）. Lyapunov stability theory is used to guarantee a uniform ultimate boundedness property for the tracking error, as well as of all other signals in the closed loop. In addition to keeping the stability and robustness properties of the SMC, the neural network-based adaptive sliding mode controller exhibits perfect rejection of faults arising during the system operating. Simulation studies are used to illustrate and clarify the theoretical results.

Numerical study of solar absorption heat storage system applied to Bucharest city

Buildings represent a large part in terms of fossil energy consumption,which depends on the great need for *** if the solar absorption heat storage system is possible,the performance of this system is affected by the cycle limits and the climatic *** goal of the present study is to control the thermal performance of the system cycle according to the imposed climatic conditions of Bucharest city,Romania,and therefore a numerical model was developed for this *** scheme and the thermodynamic cycle,the energy and mass balance equations,and the computational algorithm were *** results show that the cycle temperature increases at the end of desorption when the heating power supplied to the desorber is increased,which is also proportional to the drop in temperature at the beginning of the *** temperature at the end of absorption and the mass flow rates of the solution have a significant effect on the thermal power released from the absorber and used to heat the *** an average daily heat power of 1.35 kW/m^(2) and 10 hours per day of heating the building,the system with a solar collector area of 3 m^(2) has the capacity of heat supply for all the cold ***,an economic strategy remains necessary.

Electrochemically and Ultrasonically-Enhanced Coagulation for Algae Removal

At the global level, the augmenting presence of harmful algae blooms constitutes important dares to water treatment plants (WTPs). In WTPs, coagulation remains the primary process of the applied procedure to treat algae-contaminated water. Such a chemical process influences the following techniques;thus, regulating coagulation parameters to eliminate algae at the maximum degree without provoking cell deterioration is more than crucial. This work aims to review coagulation-founded methods for algae elimination. First, investigations concentrating on algae elimination using the chemical process are discussed. The introduction presents the widespread algae encountered in the water treatment field. Then, habitually utilized experimental techniques and emerging methods in coagulation investigations are summarized with typical findings. Next, the newest expansions in improved algae elimination, launched by electrochemically and ultrasonically-enhanced coagulation, are discussed. Workable thoughts for applying coagulation to eliminate algae in WTPs are also debated. The paper finishes by defining restrictions and dares related to the present literature and suggesting trends for subsequent studies. The charge neutralization mechanism efficiently removes solubilized microcystins (MCs), and enhanced coagulation configuration is also found to be more efficient for their removal. However, considerations should be taken to avert that the acid introduction has no unwanted effect in killing algae treatment to avoid the solubilized MCs level elevation. If such techniques are well-optimized and controlled, both algae and solubilized MCs could be efficaciously removed by ultrasound-enhanced coagulation and electrocoagulation/electrooxidation.

Influence of specimen-reconstituting method on the undrained response of loose granular soil under static loading

This paper describes the results of an experimental study on the undrained shear behaviour of loose sand collected from the location close to the epicenter of the recent Chlef （Algeria） Earthquake （October 10,1980）.The study focuses on the effects of the mode of the soil deposition on the liquefaction resistance of the Chlef *** this purpose,the results of undrained monotonic triaxial compression tests performed on samples with initial density of 0.29 under initial confining pressures ranged from 50 kPa to 200 kPa are *** specimens were prepared by two depositional methods namely dry funnel pluviation and wet *** was found that there was a marked difference in the undrained behaviour of sand in terms of maximal deviatoric stress,peak strength,residual strength and excess pore water pressure,even though the density and stress conditions were *** conclusion was that the soil fabric was responsible for this *** results indicated also that at low confining pressures,the specimens reconstituted by the wet deposition method exhibited complete static liquefaction （zero effective confining pressure and zero stress difference）.

Dynamical Study of a Constant Viscous Dark Energy Model in Classical and Loop Quantum Cosmology

Dynamical behaviors and stability properties of a flat space Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe filled with pressureless dark matter and viscous dark energy are studied in the context of standard classical and loop quantum cosmology. Assuming that the dark energy has a constant bulk viscosity, it is found that the bulk viscosity effects influence only the quintessence model case leading to the existence of a viscous late time attractor solution of de- Sitter type, whereas the quantum geometry effects influence the phantom model case where the big rip singularity is removed. Moreover, our results of the Hubble parameter as a function of the redshift are in good agreement with the more recent data.

Implementation of a Biometric Interface in Voice Controlled Wheelchairs

In order to assist physically handicapped persons in their movements,we developed an embedded isolated word speech recognition system(ASR)applied to voice control of smart ***,in spite of the existence in the industrial market of several kinds of electric wheelchairs,the problem remains the need to manually control this device by hand via joystick;which limits their use especially by people with severe ***,a significant number of disabled people cannot use a standard electric wheelchair or drive it with *** proposed solution is to use the voice to control and drive the wheelchair instead of classical *** intelligent chair is equipped with an obstacle detection system consisting of ultrasonic sensors,a moving navigation algorithm and a speech acquisition and recognition module for voice control embedded in a DSP *** ASR architecture consists of two main *** first one is the speech parameterization module(features extraction)and the second module is the classifier which identifies the speech and generates the control word to motors power *** training and recognition phases are based on Hidden Markov Models(HMM),K-means,Baum-Welch and Viterbi *** database consists of 39 isolated speaker words(13 words pronounced 3 times under different environments and conditions).The simulations are tested under Matlab environment and the real-time implementation is performed by C language with code composer studio embedded in a TMS 320 C6416 DSP *** results and experiments obtained gave promising recognition ratio and accuracy around 99%in clean ***,the system accuracy decreases considerably in noisy environments,especially for SNR values below 5 dB(in street:78%,in factory:52%).
